The Advantages Of Spray Dryer Tower

By Stella Gay

Spray drying is not only flexible to be use in different products, but it also provides a lot of advantages. It is a process involving both particle formation and drying. It has high performance due to low resistance time, turn a solution or slurry into a dried powder in a single step which can be very advantageous for process simplification and profit maximization. The water evaporation cools down the droplets, thus allowing the use of a high drying temperature.

Its versatility and speed are only some of the advantages of using the method of spray drying. It has the ability to complete the drying process in just seconds and provides an edge over other industrial techniques. In the food industry, spray dryer tower is used for fast drying plays a major role to ensure a minimum overall flavor loss. The process also operates on some basic principles.

It is also effective for its quality control. Most of the method used can produce powder of the controllable particle size and overall quality. Other characteristics can also be manipulated during the entire procedure that includes residual solvent levels, bulk density and a degree of crystallinity. It can control the parameters that makes the method desirable for industries where absorption of drugs will depend on the particle size.

The selection and operation of the atomizer is of extreme importance in achieving an optimum production and operation of top quality powders. There are actually many reasons why the tool is essential for any given application. The dry particle sizes can also be controlled by certain atomization and the designs of the hot gas inlet. Once the process is done properly the spray dryer techniques and designs can also increase the yields of products that require classification.

The spray dried particles is spherical and be able to provide a fluid like flow properties making it useful for many operations including filtering, handling, pressing and packaging at reasonable cost. It can also produce homogenous products for different solutions in the same composition.

The mass and heat may transfer during the process and occurs in the vapor and air films that surround the droplets. This protective envelope of the vapor keeps each particle at the saturation temperature. The surface area produced by the atomization enables a short gas resident time depending on the application which allows the process without thermal degradation.

One of the best examples to be give ins the milk. Normally, some of the continents and countries in the world are not using the process of refrigeration and not the main stream in many regions such as Europe and North America. The ability to keep a large quality of products such as milk is also limited.

The fat soluble vitamins in a powered nutrient premix is also done by spray drying the nutrients and add them to the premix. These dryers also provide a quick method for drying the product as compared to other available methods. Therefore, a crucial advantage of the procedure is that a mixture can be turned into a dried powder in a single step not only to maximize profit but also for simplification.

According to many studies, this technique may also serve as as an alternative but not applicable for crystallization procedures because of its temperature can affect a lot of things and depend in the residence times.
