We should get out of the notion that we often have where instead of going for quality leadership we go for positions. The problem with having positions is that if we cannot us it well we can have it but no influence.

People think that by having positions they are then automatically qualified to influence. The times are such that influence is earned, and one might question how you earn influence. The answer is simple it comes as a result of working together with the other people in the group to achieve a common purpose.

Though the buck stops with you but you need to see closely the ways progress is done but you can never take the whole credit. Life is funny when things do not work as planned the leader takes the responsibility. However, when you get the results that you need the group enjoys the credit.

As a leader should also understand that there are different ways to deal with issues that arise in the group. We have different skills, and a great leader will properly harness the potential of every member and use it to the advantage of the of the group.
