11 tips to burn fat, get in shape, and lose weight

By Scott Church

How are you looking to change your body? People have many different ideas on what the perfect body is, and because of this, there are many different diets to best achieve your desired results. If you want a bulky, heavily muscled and just plain big body, then you would want to use a special diet and exercises routine to get the largest gain possible. If you are in the opposite state of mind, thinking that a svelte toned and lean body is more for you, then you would use a very specific diet and exercise routine that is highly different from the bulky muscle plan.

Maybe you want to get ripped. You want to get huge muscles, and be the biggest guy around! You want the ability to take on anyone. To do this, you should always think about these tips while pursuing your goals.

1. Protein and a low fat diet are your friend

2. If you're trying to get huge, biceps, chest, shoulders, etc then you can consider a high calorie gainer type protein. The added calories will allow your muscles to flourish.

3. If getting enormous isn't your bag, but you do want to put on a lot of muscle, definitely take protein but stay away from the gainers. You should be taking a low carbohydrate and low calorie protein powder

4. Exercising the same muscles every day is very dangerous, you should exercise every day but alternate muscle groups. This will allow the most muscle to build at one time.

5. Start with sensible weight, and work your way up

6. Don't expect to get to the level you desire right away, results aren't instant. Expect to wait at least a week or two before you see very noticeable gains in muscle.

These tips are all great if your trying to get big, but what about the people who want to get slim and toned, ripped and shredded abs galore? These people will do things very differently.

1. Protein and a low fat diet are still your friend, however you will want to eat lots of simple carbohydrates

2. Again, stay away from any high calorie foods or supplements

3. The main focus of your workout should definitely be cardio exercise. They key is to get your heart rate up and keep it there. This promotes fat loss all over your body, something that is key to getting ripped abs

4. It is still ok to lift weights, but you shouldn't go overboard

5. Set manageable goals, don't try to run 5 miles your first day. Start it off slowly and gradually build up. You wont be discouraged this way.

For some people both of these diet plans are too extreme. Lots of people want to simply lose weight, not get ripped. If you are going for weight loss, then a balanced diet is what you would want to pursue. Simply cut your caloric and fat intake as much as possible, and run every other day and you will see great results.

No matter what you want to achieve with your fitness goals, the most important thing for you to do is to stay focused and not lose sight of your goals. If you can stick to your plan, you will succeed. Stay focused.
