Many Christians would often find themselves in crossroads wherein they would have to make a decision that would change their entire lives. When that happens, they would often pray to the Lord in order to receive some guidance and comfort. If one would want to know what answer God is trying to tell him, then here are some tips in discerning the voice of God.
Now if one would have a dilemma in his life, the best thing to do would be to of course pray to the Lord for guidance. Just like everyone else, God will only help those who would seek his help. So if one would want the help of God, then he has to tell God all of his problems and let God provide the best solution.
Now the best way to know whether God is talking to someone is by reading the Scripture. Everything that God would want to say to people is actually written there in that little holy book that is known as the Bible. So if one would want to start his quest on finding the voice of God, the best place to start would simply be the Scriptures that can be found in this ancient and holy book.
If one is making a life changing decision and would want advice from God, the best place to look would be the Bible. The Bible has a lot of verses that would actually give practical advice to people regarding their decisions that they would make in life. One would just have to look for those verses.
Now aside from reading the scriptures, the voice of God can also be heard through the messages of other people. More often than not, the wisdom of God can actually be found in the tongues of people that are very close. So if one would want some advice or opinions, one can run to his family or friends.
Now one may also seek help from those who are outside his circle in order to have a more objective point of view. One could seek help from people who are experienced in helping others. The reason that churches were built was so that believers would be able to gain strength from each other. That way, all the people in the community will be able to help each other.
Of course after getting the opinions the other people that the Lord has provided, then it is time to get back to the Scriptures. After talking to other people about his worries, one will now be able to make more sense of the Scriptures. After doing this, one has just been able to experience the voice of the Lord.
Now God will always give indirect answers simply because humans are not able to directly communicate with God. It is for this reason that God would often use people as instruments or tools to help those in need. God would also make use of the Scriptures to impart knowledge and wisdom.
