Ways Through Which Thoughts Influence Nerves

By Sandra Reynolds

The brain controls the body functioning by sending and receiving the electrical signals from various parts of a body. The type of signal will determine the type of change required. Well, it is not always the physical stimuli that effect this changes but even the psychological imagination are capable of causing stimulating the nerve impulse. It is critical to know how thoughts influence nerves for easy interpretation of body changes.

Some of the nerves that are influenced by hormones include the sensory nerves. Perhaps this is why the eye pupil increase when one look at a strange image. This dilation will increase the sight and enable one to make a better judgment in the process. Actually, the eye is made up of blood capillaries which dilate as a result of hormonal change.

When somebody is frightened a great deal of adrenaline is discharged into circulation. The vast majority of which will be transported by the veins to the muscles considering they are associated with lifting and battling. A definitive outcome is that the muscles will get substantial blood supply which will trigger expansion. The expansion and contraction of muscle fibers resulting in trembling.

The heart is the major organ that is involved in distributing blood to various part of a body. The level of pumping is controlled by the autonomic nervous system. Depending on the type of thought the brain can command the heart to increase the amount pumped to a particular part of a body. Once the signal dissipates the parasympathetic nerve will rely on a signal that cools down the heart to normal.

In most instances, one tends to breath faster and deeper when they think of something or someone. This is because the thoughts trigger certain signals which lead to the production of hormones to combat to control the situation. Some of this hormones lead to reactions that activate other parts of a body, therefore, more oxygen is needed to meet the increased blood supply to the respective organs.

Perhaps one may wonder why they find themselves sweating when they are depressed. Ideally, the central nervous system will send out effector mechanisms to different organs and the muscles, heart and the respiratory system becomes activated the general body temperature will increase. The body will have to produce sweat as a coping mechanism.

The cerebrum is innervated by little and sensitive veins. Some of the thought that results in high blood pressure are a treat to this veins. Repeated episodes of this pressure may eventually lead to breakdown of the vessels. Once this happens the brain cells will not get the oxygen and they may die. This is very risky and can result in other complications such as stroke.

It is critical to note that the psychology of a person affects his or her eating habits both negatively and positively depending on what one thinks about. If it is stress it will have a negative impact on digestion. In fact, it used to be associated with stomach ulcers because it is believed to cause trickling of lots of stomach acids. However, thinking of eating increase the cravings which may lift the eating psyche.
