A Bullet Camera Can Answer Your Questions

By Mike Ward

If you need to see in the dark or you want to monitor an area without anyone noticing that they are being monitored, you should start looking for a bullet camera that suits your needs. You have a lot of decisions to make in regards to what features you will want in a security camera. The cameras come in a lot of styles and there is a camera for almost every type of job. Most of us are familiar with the typical security camera that can be found in the upper corners of a room. But did you know that the same type of camera can be small enough to fit in the end of a pen?

They became extremely popular when people wanted to know if a nurse was abusing their elderly parents or when an employer wanted to know why their store was missing money or inventory. Bullet cameras are unobtrusive even when they are mounted to a wall but they can be completely hidden among normal items.

Image quality is the most important feature that you need to be concerned with. There are cameras that offer black and white images or they can offer color images. If you are willing to pay for a higher end camera then you can find bullet cameras with 550 lines of resolution. If video monitoring is extremely important to your security needs then the lower end cameras will not fulfill your needs but work well in conjunction with other security devices.

Wired and wireless cameras are both available. Wired cameras do not need an explanation. The wireless camera can transmit signals to a VCR, DVR or DVD player, if you want to keep record of what your camera records. It can also transmit signals to a PC with video inputs if you want real time surveillance on your computer. The cameras can transmit a signal up to 300ft. when outdoors and 100ft. or slightly less when indoors. The signal will degrade when traveling through structural materials.

The feature that attracts a lot of people is the infrared technology. The camera can see in the dark, even when you cannot. Most security breaches occur at night or over the weekends so an infrared camera may be just the thing to solve any security issues.

If you want to know what your children or your spouse is doing when you are at the office, a concealed bullet camera may answer all the questions you have. With a little tech savvy, you can have the surveillance feed sent directly to your computer at work or to a hidden digital video recorder in a closet or basement.

If you need outside security, you can get a weatherproof bullet camera. These go really well on top of buildings. Bullet cameras have found their way underwater. They can withstand the pressure up until 100 feet below the surface. So these cameras can withstand any rain, snow or extremely cold temperatures.

These cameras are often attached to a helmet or personal vehicles of extreme sport athletes to get that first person view. Now most of us know what it looks like and a little of how it might feel to jump from an airplane or bungee jump. From the world of extreme entertainment to top level security needs, bullet cameras are significant tools.
