Fake Security Cameras Can Still Deter Burglars

By Pierre Levingston

It is important for your home and businesses to appear secure. It has been proven that having your property appear secure and well protected deters a lot of burglars from breaking and entering. Unfortunately, security equipment can add up very quickly and may not be an option for smaller businesses or many homeowners.

Security cameras accomplish a few things with their operation. They monitor your property and can be used to identify those that do choose to do criminal activities. They also warn off burglars and make your establishment appear more secure.

Fake security cameras are not able to monitor your property, but they can be used to make your home or business appear to be secure. Most fake cameras will have the same make and model as real cameras. It simply just isn't turned on.

Before you decide on a fake security camera you should determine how close people will be to it. Some cameras will work great with close scrutiny, while others will only appear real from a distance. There are a lot of different fake cameras that you can use.

The most important thing with fake security cameras is to find a model that looks realistic. There are many fake cameras that are exact replicas of brand name cameras. They even have some cameras that have a flashing LED light, which is operated by battery.

Remember to be realistic when placing your cameras around your property. There are many cameras that need to be plugged in to a power source, so make sure your camera has a cord. Have your security cameras secured into the wall using sturdy brackets like you would a real camera that was heavier than your fake one.

Advertise that you have cameras. Warn people that they are being recorded. Simply placing a sign at the entrance of your establishment, or below one of the main cameras, can do the job.

Sometimes the best solution for your security needs is to have a combination of the two. This is especially true if your establishment does need to be monitored by security cameras but you simply don't have the man power or money to have every camera be operational. You will still be able to monitor your key hot spots, such as your entrance, but make your perimeter look more secure by having fake cameras through out the rest of your property.
