Vision Boards - Why 95% of Resolutions Fail Unnecessarily!

By Steve Charles

So many people make resolutions each year but a better idea would be if they started using vision boards to achieve their yearly goals instead.

Did you know that out of the 1000's of people from all over the world who make resolutions each year, by as early as the 15th of January, only a couple of weeks later, as many as 95% of those well intended resolutions are already forgotten about - Trashed.

So what the heck happened to all that desire for a better life and all those good intentions? Well, as strange as it may sound, all those folks still want the better life and still crave for those intended changes; it's just that they adopted a negative approach to change rather than a positive one. Vision boards will help make positive change every time though.

Normally people associate the New Year with a new and fresh start to their life, almost like breaking away from all the bad stuff and starting over again. This is why they make resolutions. But what is a resolution? Think about all those resolutions you made yourself in the past;' I want to quit smoking, or I want to lose some weight or I should get out and exercise more'.

Notice anything? They all have a negative aspect to them and all are taking you away from the 'pleasure' side of your life and leading you towards the 'painful' side of having to do something because it's 'good for you', something you 'must do' - not because you really want to do it, or it's enjoyable!

Resolutions generally do not work for some very simple reasons. In the case of wanting to quit smoking, when you declare "I don't want to smoke" you are not using the Law of Attraction in the way to get positive results. A negative word like "don't" cannot be recognised by the Universal law, so that statement now becomes "I want to smoke". So guess what? That's exactly what the Universal law responds to.. Keeping you smoking.

The next reason why a resolution like this would fail is because you are telling your subconscious mind to change a regular habit; smoking, and of course, the subconscious mind loves habit and regularity and hates change. It is reluctant to switch. Just because something 'is good for you' is not enough reason to make your subconscious align with your conscious mind.

Maybe the easiest reason to understand is the third one. Basically you are trying to stop doing something you enjoy. Not because you want to, but because you feel you have to; that's the reason why 95% of all resolutions fall apart in just 2 or 3 weeks.

What to do then when you really want to move away from bad habits or bring about fresh change? It's not difficult; you need to turn those negatives right round to positives and give yourself a good reason why you want to make change to your life. Doing this is such an easy way to bring permanent change, and using vision boards will help you all the way.

Vision boards ensure that your thoughts are always upbeat and positive; never negative. So in the example of wanting to quit smoking, instead of being negative; If you had a pinned up a couple of pictures of athletes or your favourite sportsmen and wrote a big bold affirmation such as 'I am very fit and healthy and feel great' then you have declared that you want to be fit and healthy; it's a positive statement. If that means quitting smoking to get fit and healthy, then fine.

Vision boards have spun a negative thought into a positive one; you are drilling that positive thought right down into your subconscious mind. Looking at that image twice a day will keep your thoughts and emotions constantly focused on exactly how good it feels to be fit and healthy again and by doing that your resolve will be enforced; your resolution achieved.
