Safely Traveling During the Holidays

By Pierre Levingston

Traveling during the Holidays is a common occurrence. Traveling can take up a lot of your time, especially when traveling a long distance. Here are a few safety tips to remember on your trip.

Don't travel alone. Traveling with more than one person is always the safest. If you don't have a choice in the matter, don't advertise that you are traveling by yourself.

Find rest stops or gas stations that are well lit. Criminals don't like hanging around in places where they can easily be spotted. Remember the lighter the area, the safer your chances are.

Carry pepper spray. Pepper spray is not lethal, like a gun would be, but it can still get you out of a sticky situation if something does arise. If you would like that kind of extra precaution, pepper spray may be a good choice for you.

Take turns driving and have someone stay up with you during the night drives. Two people should be awake during the drive at all times. This is the safest advice, since many of the accidents that happen when a driver falls asleep at the wheel are when he or she was the only one awake at the time.

If you don't have the option of taking turns keeping each other awake, consider activities that will help you stay alert. Eating sunflower seeds is a good option because it is not just eating, but it is also an activity to keep you awake as you take the seed out of the shell. Find something that will keep you focused and awake on your drive.

Carry a cell phone with you on your trip. A cell phone is a great tool on trips. Even an old cell phone can make emergency 911 calls.

Update family and friends of your progress on the road. Quick texts and phone calls are easy enough and is a good safeguard. Alerting your family of your whereabouts every few hours can really help if you have car trouble or other emergencies, and will keep them informed of any delays that may happen so they don't worry.

Developing Work Wisdom

By Lexi S Delaney

A lot of work systems may appear perfect from theoretical point of view but are not practical. It is just as you buy an expensive item that turns out to be useless and not up to the mark as promised to be. Any disturbance in the work system can be problematic, you either have the choice to repeat the task entirely or wait for the final decision. You feel that you are not prepared for both. But before you complaint about your work you must know that anyone functioning on a managerial position has the capability to bring about a change. Just precise set skills are needed to accomplish this.

Managing company goals, time and finances are seldom discussed whereas, some factual and concrete aspects are ignored. One such important aspect is managing your immediate superior. It should be kept in mind, that any working system works on a specific goal and yours is to deliver what your boss expects from you. You must be aware of his demands which are based on the requirements of the top management so you should be cautious.

It is usual that an excellent manager is a good monitor. Once you have a firm control over your stress triggers, you are completely in command. You just have to divert the limited resources in a direction, which fulfils the demands of everyone without overburdening yourself. It is imperative that a real workable system, must take into consideration the actual labor force and it includes you too.

Since, you are not yet the top authority, you have to grasp the reality that someone else will make the final decision. Even worst condition is that you have to survive and create a system that has no real facts. The easiest solution to the problem is to enhance the working skills of your team. This may call for delegating work at your end; in this case remember to match talent of the person and the specific task.

Most important is to motivate your colleagues and subordinates, it is imperative to scrutinize the environment also, not just the goals. Excellent working systems fortify the morale of the employees but it dampens if people understand that company does not values loyalty and talent. Most rational attitude that you can adopt is to invest on training, display credit and admiration wherever required.

It is common that when the group displays lack of coordination and you sense trouble, the immediate response is to change the system or add corrective measures. However addition of new procedures would cost extra people and time. More advisable act would be to reconsider and lay stress on development.

Good systems are self sustaining. To get paramount results from your workforce, the person responsible for the task must be permitted total liberty to take decisions and made responsible for the failures. However, they must also be credited for their success. If you find that you are over scrutinizing the process, then you are overdoing it and on other hand also heighten the risk of blame.

It is immensely important to devote some time and resources to train the employees and get the support form everyone involved. Imparting training to the people is a vital block in making the organization work. Ensure that the problems are solved; you can also spread the idea amongst the team, so that they are motivated to work and meet the goals.

Tips on How to Save Money on Your Monthly Alarm Monitoring.

By Darrel Stokely

An alarm system is an important investment in safe guarding your home, family or your business, but there is no reason to overpay for the alarm monitoring services. If you're like most Americans with an security system at their home or business, you paid a small setup fee and agreed to enter into a 3-5 year contract paying $35 or more per month for alarm monitoring services. What you probably don't know is that after your contract has expired, you're free to switch to any alarm monitoring company you choose and start saving now. Save without Sacrificing Quality. You can make the switch from one of the big alarm companies without sacrificing the quality of service you receive if you do a bit of homework and checking into the company before you switch. We've put together several tips on things to look to help make your decision.

Redundant Monitoring Centers Multiple, redundant monitoring centers are key to ensuring that your home or business is monitored 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. This means that if one monitoring center has a problem, like a power outage or telephone system crash, that your alarm signals will automatically be redirected to another monitoring center somewhere else in the Country.

Check the Fine Print Many alarm companies will "lock you in" to purchasing services for an extended period of time with contracts. You should thoroughly review the terms of service and the contract prior to purchasing alarm monitoring services, not doing so could lock you into multiyear service agreements at a fixed cost.

Prepay versus Month to Month Most alarm monitoring companies will offer a discount for customers who prepay for a period of 12 months or more, which could end up costing you if you later decide to cancel the service. Check to make sure that you're entitled to a full refund for unused service.

In summary: You can save hundreds or thousands of dollars annually by switching to a low cost alarm monitoring provider. Switching your alarm monitoring center is a safe, easy process of reprogramming your alarm panel or installing a device to divert your alarm signals to the new monitoring center. If you do your research and ask the right questions, you'll save money without having the headaches of making the wrong decision.

Wireless Home Security Cameras - the Basics

By Milos Pesic

Despite the fact that security cameras are hard to install, it is undoubtedly a great way to upgrade a home security system. The best option is wireless home security camera since you don't have to hardwire it into a system. You can simply plug it into a standard outlet. Furthermore, it is useful for recording the video feed and different types enabling you to watch the video live via the Internet no matter where you are.

Look at the three basic wireless home security camera types and check also what their features are:

The first among these three types is the outdoor home wireless camera, which is used in a typical home security setting replacing the standard hardwired camera. This type of camera needs the electrical power which can be supplied by a standard electrical outlet. Some of them can be battery powered but the problem is that the batteries run out quickly. However, there are also solar powered cameras, but in case it rains heavily for days, they can lose their power. Yet, if you want to avoid trouble of hardwiring your cameras they might be a good choice for you.

Next, there is the IP home wireless security camera which is a quite new addition to security camera system. They are similar to a webcam, with the exception of being connected to a computer. The camera sends its signal back to a base or gets connected to your home wireless Internet. The advantage is that you can log into the camera whenever you have the Internet connection and see what the camera sees. It can be recorded via computer or digital video recorder.

Nanny camera is the third type of a home wireless security camera. In fact, it has all the features of the wireless surveillance camera system, and the only difference is that is masked as simple home objects such as DVD players, clocks, and children's toys. In general, homeowners use these cameras to supervise their employees and caretakers ( like nannies). Due to the fact that they can be recorded to DVR you can watch the video live with the Internet.

Purchasing a cheap wireless home system for securing your home may not be a good option for you. It's very important that the camera you are planning to buy has the video transmitting hardware built in, included in the price. The cost of this kind of camera can be somewhat bigger, but you should take into account that you pay for the convenience and ability to set your camera on places where it would be difficult to install a wired type of camera. Furthermore, people prefer buying home wireless cameras due to the fact that they can view a live video feed no matter where they are via the Internet. If you need any additional information about security camera system, you can get them from David Verde, who has already done some remarkable research on this topic.

Locked Out Again, Call A Locksmith

By Bob Johnsen

Have you ever done the stunt of locking yourself out of your house or car? Many people have and usually at a time that is late and inconvenient for anyone to come help you. I have done this also. This is when a good Emergency Locksmith can come in handy to help you.

You can accomplish this stunt in a number of ways. There is the mistake of dropping your keys into a place where they can not be reclaimed from, this would include the drain in the sidewalk, or how about off of a dock. You could also have a key that will break off when you try to twist the lock, or the lock that just breaks and does not work.

When you are in this predicament, you can always call a good locksmith in order to get out of the jam that you have gotten yourself into. He will be able to get you into what you are not able to at this time. Just remember, when this happens, it is usually after the 9 to 5 shift and his services are going to cost you.

Some one that is good with locks will be able to get into anything that you need his services for. He will carry specialized tools and have a special set of skills along with good knowledge when it comes to locks. This will give him the ability to let you into the house, office, or car. If your serviceman has his trade down well, you will be granted access in a short minute or two.

You must be aware though, when you call a service to solve your "lock out problem", you are going to be required to come up with something that proves that you are the owner of the car or the home that he is letting you into. The last thing he wants is to be part of a burglary or auto theft.

You have a choice next time you are locked out of where you need to be. You can either break a window or door (which is not a good plan) or you can call a good skilled locksmith to let you in.

Most cases when you need this service may be after hours, the money you pay for the emergency call will always be less than the money you would spend to replace a door or window.

Next time you need to undue an "OOPS! I've lost my keys", call a good quality shop and get help.

There Are Certain Times To Start Using Burglar Alarm Systems

By Matthew Kerridge

It's important to keep a few things in mind when considering burglar alarm systems and how they are going to be used to protect the home or some other building. First of all, understand that an alarm system is only as good as the behaviors of the people who are controlling it are going to be. They need to be consistent in using it, in other words. If they don't turn it on, it won't help.

What this means is that good burglar alarm systems are those systems that have been properly installed, are kept in working order and are also turned on when they are supposed to be on and are used as part of a broader security package. Technically, a system to help prevent burglaries or break-ins is that system is tied directly to a structure. That is only one facet of security, truthfully.

As a tool that can help to prevent burglaries or break-ins, burglar alarm systems need to tie in to a wider security system that starts at the perimeter, such as when perimeter fencing is being used. Good systems start from well outside the home and then become increasingly stronger the closer one gets to penetrating the interior. It could consist of strong fences, exterior lighting and cameras and then penetration alarms.

Fencing works particularly well when it comes to being a part of an alarm system. It can be tied in to the alarm and when it is breached or penetrated it can begin to alert the home security system that something may be afoot. The system and the owners or occupants of the home and then consider the next step to take. It could be something like checking installed CCTV cameras and video monitors.

Additionally, burglar alarm systems also tie in with exterior lighting that may come on when barrier fencing is breached or if someone crosses in front of a covered area and trips a motion sensor or sensors. Lastly, good burglar alarm systems feature protection that takes into account covering all methods of ingress into the structure such as doors, windows and unlikely entrance points.

There are many effective burglar alarm systems that can be found for around $100 and are available in many retail stores, including home improvement stores. These are generally stand-alone systems and don't usually tie in to any other part of the security system but they can be tied in, if needed. Other systems are available from home security companies for a reasonable price plus a monthly fee.

When it comes to protecting the home or some other structure, it is always helpful to conceive of security for that structure as being something that begins from outside the structure and still exists even inside structure. Burglar alarm systems are an integral part of any security system and are probably the most commonly employed method for maintaining security in a home.

Fire Alarm Systems Are Smart Investments

By Matthew Kerridge

If you want to be sure that your home or business is protected from fires, you need to invest in one of the many fire alarm systems on the market. These devices are vital for saving lives as well as property from being consumed by flames.

Fire alarm systems have three chief parts to them. One is the detection unit, one is the control panel unit and the final is the alarm signaling component. There are many different types of alarm systems available and at a variety of prices. They are often sold as part of a home security system which will also include the components for detecting intruders.

The component for detection can react to either heat or smoke. The ones that detect smoke may be either ionization smoke detectors, normally used in businesses, or photo electronic ionization detectors, more commonly used in homes. Photo electronic models work better at detecting smoldering fires. This helps to alert families quickly for home fires. The ionization detectors, on the other hand, are better at detecting fires that are flaming. The home detectors, in particular, will set off the alert before the fire has broken out.

Heat detectors come in two types as well. One type recognizes when the room temperature rises to a certain level. The other recognizes these, as well as sudden rises in temperature. Heat detectors are generally not as effective protection devices smoke detectors as the fire will already be strong by the time the temperature rises sufficiently to set them off.

Alarm signal components will usually have both visual and audible alerts. The audible alerts may be any combination of bells, horns and speakers. Visual alerts can be lights that flash or strobe. These types of alerts are particularly important for people with hearing impairments.

The control unit operates like the brain of the system. This is used to program the whole system operations. It may also be able to send an alert to your local fire department.

In addition to protecting your home and family, the installation of a fire alarm system may be able to save you money on your homeowners insurance. Generally, the more automatic the system is, the deeper discounts you can receive. You may also want to consider investing in wireless alarm system as these have less chance of being rendered dysfunctional due to fire.

If you want to protect your home or business, as well as the lives of the people in them, start looking at fire alarms systems today. This is not the kind of purchase you want to put off.

Discover How To Put In A Wireless Video Security System

By Matthew Kerridge

Home security is important to some other household. It has many benefits that include protecting your home from an intruder and burglars that may cause damage to your own domicile. Having a surveillance system that is effective enough to reach thus people who have bad intentions on you, gives the right benefit. Wireless video security system is the best in the today's gadget. It is cost effective and can be easily installed but sometimes vulnerable to wireless tapping.

The first step you should do is to decide on the type of camera top be installed. Effective cameras that are durable and of high quality are thus made for outdoor. There are many brands in the market today; each brand has a different specification that makes it difficult to understand. Outdoor products are expensive in comparison to thus indoors cameras. Select what camera fits your needs carefully as it may affect your future security if failed to do so.

If you decide to have it hidden, then you must install it in a strategic position as it locations are the most essential factor to consider when installing the camera.

Adding a camera to a specific location should cover your point of interest, nevertheless, it won't serve its function. So strategic positioning of each camera is important. The distance to each should not close enough.

Mount and drill the camera to the location you think that is strategic and favorable in your part. Check the monitor in your control room to fix up the signal and make some necessary fixes prior to finalization of the bracing. Review the screen if the camera is sending a clear signal and satisfy you.

After making it work, finally mount the camera and screw it in its correct location. Just be sure that the camera bracing won't break easily by certain outdoor conditions. If this happens, then it will cost you another camera.

Having a camera when you cannot even keep an eye to it is useless at all. In finding the place where you will see your monitor is another factor to consider. My advice is finding a location that is perfect and where you always hang out. It might be in your room as you are always there overnight.

The internet plays an important role in today's modern technology; wireless video security system can now be linked to the internet to be able to monitor your home remotely.

Suggestions For Choosing A Suitable Warehouse For Your Requirements

By Farrah Davies

As cities have become heavily populated throughout the world, our houses have become increasingly smaller. However, we are increasingly buying new household goods under the impact of consumerism and availability of easy cash. These two conflicting changes have resulted in a massive shortage of space for storing their items, and this explains why storage firms are doing great business.

You must not be hasty in your search for a warehouse and be careful before selecting one. There are many types of storage service providers out there, and you must go for the one that has the appropriate facilities in place to ensure that your important articles will be taken care of properly. Here are some necessary considerations that you should take into account while selecting a warehouse.

The most crucial aspect that must never be ignored when selecting a warehouse is security. The warehouse must have updated security systems in place to safeguard your valuables from thieves. A completely foolproof warehouse would generally be installed with electronic locks, door alarms, and closed circuit cameras.

Along with security from theft, you also need security from accidents like fire. Warehouses are notorious for mishaps caused by fire, and so fire fighting devices to ensure protection of your valuables must be there at the warehouse. The warehouse must have alarms that would start ringing at the slightest indication of a fire, and the storage areas should be made up of fireproof materials.

Your articles should also be protected from the extremities of weather. Weather conditions, particularly moisture, can harm fragile items having great aesthetic and historical value, like paintings and antique furniture. If you have medicinal drugs or hi tech appliances to store, then they must be shielded from extremes of temperature as well. The warehouse must be equipped with climate control technology to regulate the atmospheric conditions at a desired level that is required for ensuring protection of your articles.

Another problem that you must be protecting your articles against is pests. Pests are tough to detect and in a very short span they can fully destroy items like wooden furniture. Therefore there should be appropriate pest control measures regularly implemented in the warehouse in the form of periodical spray of pesticides and ensuring appropriate sanitation.

Lastly, the staff of the warehouse must be friendly and helpful. However good the storage facility might be, your items will always remain at risk if they are roughly handled by the warehouse employees during transportation and loading-unloading. Therefore, the company must have provided extensive training to the employees so that they know how to take care of a customer's articles.

Situations Where Self Storage Is Beneficial

By Ashley Boyd

By making use of the innovative self-storage concept, the issue of lack of space inside one's premises for keeping necessary items is solved quite conveniently. Any good storage firm or warehouse offers this valuable service, and people are greatly making use of it to solve their storage troubles.

People have different types of storage needs, and self storage is capable of addressing all of them. It is very useful when you are moving residence or moving your office to a new location. In this interim period between your exit from the current location and final arrival at your new location, you require a storage facility for housing of your furniture and other items. It is in such situations that self storage comes to your help by providing space for temporary storage, much to your benefit.

Self-storage also addresses your temporary alternate storage needs at the time of renovation of a place, i.e., when you have to temporarily store away your furniture for a short period till your place has been entirely renovated and is fit to be used again.

Self storage can also be used on a long term basis in situations where you don't have enough space at your place to keep some articles, which you will need at a later time, or with which you have an emotional attachment. In such cases, you can store these items at a nearby self storage warehouse. This way you can retain your precious space inside your office or house and can easily retrieve your items when the necessity arises.

All professionally managed self storage facilities provide a safe place for your possessions, where proper care is taken to secure the premises. Besides, valuables that need to be protected from heat and moisture are kept in proper conditions with controlled levels of heat and humidity to ensure safe storage and to avoid any climate related harm to them.

Self storage also gives you the facility of being able to store and retrieve your goods in a hassle-free manner. Thus every time the necessity arises to bring out some of these items, you can do so without having to go through any pains.

Self storage spaces are available both on short and long term leases and at affordable prices. Using such facilities can even turn out to be a money saving option as they allow you to go for smaller offices or residences.

A self storage arrangement is quite flexible and it can cater to a vast range of customers. These services therefore focus on meeting your varied storage requirements at inexpensive prices without you having to bother about anything in this regard.

Solve Your CCTV Problems With A Security DVR

By Mike Ward

No matter what kind of security you have, one thing that will make the difference when it comes to keeping an eye on things whether you are, or are not around is a CCTV system. The most popular choice at the moment is the security DVR (Digital Video Recorder). The reason this takes popularity over other methods of security is what I would like to tell you about today so that you too are able to reap the benefits for yourself and make sure that no crime goes unnoticed.

One of the main benefits comes in the way of the money you are able to save from recording digitally rather than having to use VHS tapes. Over time VHS tapes are something that has to be replaced or you will find that the quality is reduced. This will lead to extra expenditure after your original purchase which is something you will not have the same problem with should you use a DVR instead.

You will never again have to keep checking to make sure you have enough tape left in order to record for the amount of time you need. You will be able to leave the DVR recording for days at a time without having to worry about recording over the previous recordings. This will mean that if you have missed out on something that is important then you have the ability to return back to that spot easily and not kick yourself because the recording has been recorded over or that the VHS has stopped running as it is full. This is useful for those whose business is closed over the weekend or when you are away on vacation.

Digital recordings are much more reliable than other kinds which give you a clearer picture making it easier for anyone who is entering or defacing your property to be identified. When you use VHS tapes the quality is reduced each time they are used, where as when you use the DVR your viewing quality is of excellent standards no matter how many times you record over previous information.

You have the benefit of the DVR's being accessible even when you are not in the same building that they are located. The reason for this is that many now have network ability with assignable IP addresses which allows you to get access to the recordings from anywhere that you are able to get access to the internet.

Even larger establishments can benefit, and they will be able to save on the amount of space that is usually taken up with recording equipment and storage as with only one DVR you can if needed add 16 cameras or more and still not lose any quality as you may have done with other security forms. This will ensure you get to see every corner of the interior and exterior of the building you need to and record the information without having to compromise on the little space you may have.

By using this innovative technology you are not only able to save money, you can also make sure that your security needs are met in a way that you have never been able to before.

There is no reason why anyone should take from those who have worked hard to get what they have, which is why anyone who tries to should be punished accordingly by the law. You now have the upper hand on this as you have technology at your fingertips.

Becoming a Kung Fu Master through the Secret of Light Kung Fu!

By Al Case

One of the neatest things in cinema was when David Carradine in the old Kung Fu TV series walked on the rice paper. Rice paper is extremely thin, and the moisture on the sole of the foot, along with the weight of the body, was enough to tear the stuff. The legend, of course, was there is this thing called Light Kung Fu, where one could actually make the body lighter, maybe even levitate it.

Now, myself and all the budding kung fu students in the neighborhood would watch David Carradine, Kwai Chang Caine as he was known on the tube, and wish we had a kung fu master to teach us how to do the light kung fu walk on rice paper. Why, there was no end to the power we would have if we only knew this thing called Light Kung Fu! The neighborhood bullies would shiver in their knickers if we had that awesome power!

So, a little thought about the problem, a little western ingenuity, and we came up with a solution. Take a roll of toilet paper and unroll it on a linoleum floor. Now, very carefully, put a small drop of water on each square. Now, walk.

We thought that wet toilet paper would be like rice paper, you see. So we danced our gentle kung fu pattern, and...the thin stuff was ripped apart. Hmmmm.

We cleaned the mess off the floor, let it dry, and unrolled the paper again, put our feet down and tried not to turn them at all. Squoosh, squoosh, yikes! Darn stuff just turned into puddly, little messes.

So we tried arranging a long row of chairs along the sides of the unrolled toilet tissue, and we tried supporting ourselves with a little arm strength as we walked our kung fu walk. Squish, rip, and oh my good lard! This rice paper stuff was tougher, uh, softer, than we thought.

Now, in the end, we never did manage to walk the light kung fu walk, and not tear the filmy tissue into shreds. And, to be truthful, I don't think it is possible to do, toilet paper is supposed to dissolve in water, and rice paper, well, who knows what the heck rice paper is for, or even looks like. But something amazing happened because of our interest in being able to do what the old masters did, even if they were only actors on the tube.

In trying to walk on rice paper we ended up working out long and hard. While waiting for the floor to dry we ran through our kicking and blocking routines, we did our forms and worked on our balance and strength. In the end, though we never did manage to walk the light kung fu walk and not tear the living dickens out of that stupid toilet paper, we became masters by another means, we mastered kung fu through dedication and long hard work and by being inspired by our dreams!

The Pitfalls of VoIP Alarm Monitoring.

By David Stone

With the popularity of VoIP (Voice over IP ) telephone systems skyrocketing over the past two years, the interest to monitor home or business security systems over a VOIP connection has also increased dramatically.

While technically it is possible to accomplish alarm monitoring through a Voice over IP telephone connection, we're going to give you a couple of reasons why monitoring your residential alarm system through VOIP isn't such a good idea.

VoIP requires Power - As we mentioned previously, VoIP telephone services requires the Internet which means that it requires power to run the router and modem that power your internet connection. If the power goes out, without a battery backup system, you will not have phone service and your alarm system will not be able to dial out to the monitoring center in the event of an emergency. An alarm system connected to a traditional POTS (plain old telephone service) phone line works even when the power is out because the POTS line is self powered, meaning it works even when your electricity is out allowing your alarm system (which generally has a built in battery backup) to dial out during a power outage.

VoIP Quality of Service - The quality of service with VoIP varies dramatically between providers. Alarm panels need a high quality telephone connection in order to communicate alarm signals over VoIP. Alarm panels communicate much like a fax machine, and if the VoIP connection is too greatly compressed and the audio quality is degraded, the alarm panel will not be able to communicate effectively or reliably with the central station. This leads to an unreliable alarm monitoring situation that is unpredictable. This situation is not preferable for monitoring emergency situations such as theft or fire.

There is an option that gives you the best of both worlds; keeping a low cost VoIP telephone service while increasing the reliability of your alarm monitoring system and that is Wireless monitoring. Cellular alarm monitoring uses a CDMA or GSM connection to wirelessly communicate your alarm signals much like a cell phone. This system does not require power and is not subject to failures like VoIP can be. While it costs a few extra dollars per month for the cellular connection, it is a much better alternative to trusting an unreliable VoIP connection with the significant task of monitoring your residence or business.

Simply Google alarm monitoring or cellular alarm monitoring to learn more about the different options and companies that offer these services.

How Do You Get More Omega 3 Fatty Acids In Your Diet If Fish Is Contaminated With Mercury?

By Peter Bertonach

The health benefits of omega3 essential fatty acids are becoming more and more mainstream, and gradually the population is becoming aware that most of us are deficient in their Omega3 intake and that increasing our intake of essential fatty acids may help improve a number of health outcomes for all of us. Omega3 fatty acids are found in fish oil and this obviously comes from fish, however fish is generally contaminated with Mercury. So what do you do increase your intake of healthy fats if the source, namely fish, is contaminated with Mercury?

There has been a study published this year which has looked at Mercury contamination of fish in the North Pacific Ocean. It found that the level of Mercury in the North Pacific has increased 30 percent over 10 years from'96 to 2006.

Not only that but it also concluded that around 40 percent of all Mercury exposure of people in the US came from tuna consumption from tuna caught in the Pacific.

This is concerning. Mercury is a serious environmental toxin and is no good for our health when we consume it. It is a neurotoxin and has serious implications for the developing fetus and infant.

The major causes of Mercury contamination in the Pacific were found to be atmospheric Mercury production as well as Mercury leakage from parts of Asia. The Mercury is in the form of methylmercury, and this works it's way from the bottom of the food chain to the major fish at the top of the food chain such as tuna and shark, both of which feature largely in our intake of fish.

So the conundrum for anyone that understands the importance of increasing their intake of omega3 fatty acids, and who also understands that the vast majority of our population is deficient in Omega3 fats, is that by increasing your intake of fish to increase your intake of Omega3 fats you are also increasing your intake of Mercury.

Fish is also a declining resource and over time the price of fish is going up and up. Is there a better way than eating fish to improve your levels of Omega3 fatty acids in your diet? Yes there certainly is.

Much more cost-effective than eating fish and also safer is to increase your Omega3 intake levels by daily supplementation with omega3 supplements. These are much more cost-effective than buying fish and the very best fish oil supplements are free of Mercury contamination and are safe to be taken daily. As a result of these fats the sales of fish oil supplements are increasing faster than any other nutritional supplement in history.

If you like eating fish then by all means increase your intake and this improves your dietary intake of omega3. However by doing so you are also increasing your intake of Mercury, as well as affecting your budget. But if you'd prefer to avoid the cost of buying fish as well is the risks of eating Mercury then omega3 supplements are certainly a much more cost-effective and are safer way to do so.

It is however worth noting that there wide variations in the quality of the various supplements available, and that the best fish oil supplements contain almost 3 times as much Omega3 fats as average capsules.

If you'd like to find out how to compare the different omega3 supplements available then you can do so on my website.

Thinking About Alarm Systems As Part Of A Broader Security Function

By Matthew Kerridge

Alarm systems as part of a broader security function should be considered whenever the need to bring a more robust level of security to a home, a structure or some sort of property is needed. Additionally, such systems should be thought of as being an integral part of any security system designed to protect home or property, though they can often serve in a standalone capacity.

For the most part, just about any security expert will say that for security to be effective it needs to make use of several different technologies that are incorporated into a system that is layered and increasingly more difficult to penetrate as one gets closer to the object being protected. It may be referred to as a defense in depth, for example.

The use of security systems has taken on even more importance today than it has in the past for a number of reasons. For one, they've never been cheaper and more effective. A quality security system that incorporates a number of passive and active security elements that can be used to protect property of all kinds such as automobiles or homes can be had for less than $100 in some cases.

At any rate, it is helpful when it comes to discussing security to think of the object to be protected as being the center of the effort and the security systems as being the rings or circles that surround the object. For example, consider a home and then levels of security that will be stacked around at home to protect it. This could be a fence, security lighting and then a robust alarm.

Any good system for security today will employ different kinds of technology to not only monitor the goings on but also to alert those who need to be alerted to possible issues in order that they be assessed and then dealt with are probably. Even certain automobile security systems work on this principle and may actually have sonic motion sensing and perimeter warning devices.

Those motion sensing technologies are also extremely crucial in many structure or home security systems and are found within such structures are homes while other kinds of sensors may be placed on doors and windows as well as on the exterior. In that case, these sensors usually will turn on lights and activate cameras while also sounding a warning within the home to advise of a possible breach.

In just about every instance -- no matter the kind or type of security system under discussion -- there will be some sort of alert or alarm that will have a central place in the security system. It may deliver instantaneous notification of some problem going on, like one might see in automobiles, or it may serve to turn on some other part of the security function.

What Is The Process For San Antonio Water Damage Restoration?

By Wilmer Boscoe

Water damage destroys your home and property. Water damage restoration is performed by professionals in an effort to restore your home or property to its original condition. There are no government stipulations for water restoration at this time. There are two organizations that certify and recommend standards for water damage restoration. Those two companies are the IICRC and RIA. You can locate a certified provider for san antonio Water Damage Restoration at the IICRC and RIA websites.

Depending on the events that occur, companies may find it necessary to set aside guidelines in order to achieve the desired results. Local, State and Federal laws determine who is qualified to provide water damage restoration services.

The procedures listed by RIA or the IIRC should be followed when possible.

If furnishings cannot be salvaged, they will have to be replaced. If it is possible to restore them to the original condition, then steps will be taken to do so, unless it costs more to restore than to replace. Any and all damage has to be recorded.

Inspect the area that is affected or believed to be affected. The company will locate the source of the water with equipment specifically meant for this process. Once the entire affected area is identified, the first step is to dry it. Then, it will need to be sanitized and deodorized. Dehumidifiers, giant fans, air scrubbers and some other drying tools will more than likely be left at the home when the labor part is complete. The company will come back to the home within two or three days to reevaluate the cleanup effort. At this time, if everything went right, the equipment will probably be removed.

The amount of contamination in the water will decide which of the three categories the damage will come under.

- Category 1 is water from a clean or sanitary source. - Category 2 is water with some level of contaminants that could cause discomfort or illness if ingested. - Category 3 water is grossly unsanitary, and can lead to illness or death if ingested.

Move items out of the area that are not damaged and may get in the way of the company performing the restoration. Reason being is that if they have to move it you will be charged for it.

Do not hesitate to ask the company any questions.

The job is done when the levels of moisture, temperature and humidity reach an acceptable level.

As with any job, carelessness is not okay. Research the guidelines recommended to see if the company is following them. If they are not, it is okay to ask why they are doing it different.

What Is The Omega3 Omega 6 Ratio And Why Should You Care?

By Peter Bertonach

You may be well aware of the health benefits of what are known as Omega 3 essential fatty acids. It's been in the news lately and more and more people are understanding the importance of maintaining an adequate intake of the important essential fatty acids known as Omega 3, and most of us are deficient in these. But you may not have heard of Omega 6 fats and may not be aware of the importance of these to your health, and you may not have heard of the Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio.

Essential fatty acids are important for good health. We cannot manufacture these in our body and so we rely on a daily intake of these in our diet. Omega 3 fats are primarily found in fish and research has shown that most of us are deficient in Omega 3 in our diets.

Omega 6 essential fatty acids, on the other hand, are found in other food sources, and we are not generally deficient in these. For example you find Omega6 fats in many of the oils that we eat from day to day such as corn oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil and peanut oil, and soy oil is almost completely comprised of omega6 fats.

Most of these vegetable oils are cheap and for this reason they are used extensively in a wide range of processed foods, including margarine, and as many of us eat plenty of processed foods, as well as vegetable oils, we generally consume too much Omega 6.

Scientific research has shown that in the past we had an Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio of roughly 1 to 1, or in other words we ate roughly the same amount of each of these fats in our diet. However estimates now are that the Omega3 Omega 6 ratio in the average US citizen is somewhere from 10 to 1, or even, according to some estimates up to 30 to 1. Because of our reliance on vegetable oils and processed foods we are now eating far more Omega 6 fats than we ever did in the past.

It is true that Omega 6 fats are important to our health however it is also true that the Omega3 Omega 6 ratio, or the ratio between how much of each of the 2 types of fats that we eat, is also very important, and that by eating too much Omega 6, whilst at the same time eating too little Omega 3, we are running the risk of a range of health problems including the possibility of a range of cancers as well as coronary artery disease and inflammatory diseases like arthritis.

Combine this with the fact that in the past most of our meat came from animals which were grass fed, and which therefore had a reasonable level of Omega3 fats, but most of our animals are now grain fed which reduces the levels of omega3 fats and increases the level of Omega 6 and you can see that there is no need at all for supplementation with 6.

Whilst both Omega 3 and Omega 6 fats are important to our health most of us are deficient in our intake of Omega 3 and have an Omega 3 Omega 6 ratio that is way too high, and we need to reduce our intake of Omega 6 fats. This can be done by reducing the amounts of processed foods in our diets and by changing our cooking oils from vegetable oils to good oils such as olive oil. And we all need to be increasing our intake of Omega 3 fatty acids with daily fish oil supplements.

Note that although fish oil supplements are extremely cost-effective not all are as good as others, you need to know how to compare the different fish oil supplements available to make an effective choice.

Find out how to make this comparison between the different fish oil supplement brands on my website.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Requires Commitment and Focus

By Curtis Adams

Brazilian jiu jitsu training is not really for the casual participant. Generally, the instructors will want a significant commitment from their students, and if it is a Gracie jiu jitsu school that you are attending, then this commitment will extend to how you conduct yourself outside of the dojo as well. The seriousness that those involved with Brazilian jiu jitsu show is a result of being at the top of the mixed martial arts world. Despite the intensity usually involved in the training, most classes follow a structure similar to any other martial art.

Brazilian jiu jitsu training, like advanced training and most forms of ordered physical activities, will practically always begin with some form of a warm-up. If you're new to jiu jitsu, then the instructor will likely focus on a less difficult warm-up session. A lighter session will normally involve some fundamental exercises including situps and pushups, and maybe laps around the gym. Stretching also occurs when your body has warmed up a bit. A more intense warm-up would be lengthier and really created to break a sweat and help you with training for stamina.

Following the warm-up, the next part of Brazilian jiu jitsu training normally focuses on techniques. Specific moves will be selected by the teacher and broken into sections so that students can perfect each stage. Errors are ironed out at this time, and the trainer will attempt to spend time with each student to make certain things are being done properly. More skilled students are often matched with newer ones, so that the former can assist the latter. This is particularly important in bigger classes where the instructor cannot give everyone individual training all together.

After the warm-up and the practice part of Brazilian jiu jitsu training comes the hands-on fighting. When you have a partner working with you, techniques are easier to execute and fighters can become complacent and over confident. By including a sparring session at the end of a lesson, students will need to apply their newly learned techniques against an opponent who will not know what their next move will be, and who will not be so willing to let them win.

Brazilian jiu jitsu training is not for the casual participant due to the amount of work involved and the high expectations that instructors tend to set. But if you are dedicated and make the most out of each session by warming up properly, concentrating on mastering the techniques taught, and making the most out of sparring sessions, then you will have a positive experience. This is personal training at its highest and you will find yourself with greater physical and mental strength as a result.

Karate Masters, What They Did, and How You Can Become One!

By Al Case

Whap, bam and pow! We watch TV and the movies, and we see kung fu flips in the Matrix and sword standing and eye gouging in Kill Bill and we know we have seen the real masters! Wake up, dude, that's a movie, and what the real masters do is a lot different than what you see on TV!

Gichin Funakoshi is considered to be one of the more significant of the karate masters. He brought karate to all Japan, and then spread it to the whole world. If that isn't considered enough to be considered a real, live master, why don't you go stand on a house during a typhoon and hold a 3 by 6 sheet of plywood?

That's right, to make his stance totally immovable in every way, he battled the very elements, and word has it he never sailed off to Oz. And, if you want one of the older masters, try Sokon Matsumuri, an Imperial bodyguard of old Okinawa, who made a bull run away just by giving the bull a serious stare. The trick was that he went out to the bullpen during the dark hours and jabbed a pin smack in the middle of that old bulls nose!

Of course you may think intelligence is cheating, and that to figure out how to beat a bull without bashing him is not much of a deal. So try something simple, try grabbing the beams of a ceiling, not hooking the fingers over the beams, but just grabbing them with your gnarly, old fingers, and hand walking across the ceiling. This is something that the karateka in old Okinawa were doing just for kicks and grins!

One of the best masters of old karate was Mas Oyama. Oyama became known for chopping the horns off of charging bulls, and he ended up dispatching three of the poor animals. Now, cruelty to animals, even big, old bulls, is not something we advertise, but this was a while ago, and think about the muscle, the intelligence, the brute strength, and the sheer artism required to kill a bull with your bare hands. It's not something I would try if I were you,not even on your best day!

Okay, you've heard my spiel on the old legends, so let me give you a simple trick to do, and you can start becoming a karate master all on your own. Learn one of the forms of Karate, maybe Bassai, or something like it, or maybe you might want to start off with a simpler form like Pinan One. Now, let the garden hose run for an hour on that bare patch of ground behind your house.

Now, the ground is soft and gooey, yucky and messy. So it is time to do that karate form, heh heh. Whap, bam and kazowie!

Your fanny flies over your face and you look like a plant hiding in the mud. Up on your feet you lazy wanna be karate master! Did you think the legends of old would whine just because they got a little muddy?

Dangers of Christmas Tree Fires

By Pierre Levingston

Christmas wouldn't feel like Christmas without the special treat of a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. If you are like millions of other Americans around the country, then getting a real tree is a priority. If that is your case, there are certain safeguards you should take to prevent a fire from happening.

When Christmas tree fires occur they often spread fast. As a result they can cause serious injuries and inflict intense damage to the home. Christmas tree fires have been the cause of over $13 million in property damage.

The cause of most Christmas tree fires is usually because of shorts in electrical lights or open flames. Keep matches or open flames away from the tree. Dry Christmas trees can be a major problem if not carefully watched.

According to the Building and Fire Research Laboratory of the National Institute of Standards and technology, Christmas trees that haven't been properly watered or taken care of are the biggest risk to Christmas tree fires. They have researched what happens when a fire does reach a dry tree in the home. They even have a video on their website to visually warn tree-owners how quickly a fire can spread.

According to their research, a fire can happen in as little as three seconds. Within 40 seconds the entire room is filled with harsh smoke and deadly fire. It is no wonder that 1 out of every 9 Christmas tree fires ends with a person's death.

Thankfully the statistics show that Christmas trees that do catch on fire are a very small portion of the amount of live Christmas trees that are sold. The best way to prevent a fire from happening is to keep your tree properly watered. A well-hydrated tree has a great chance of not being able to catch on fire, even when it is intentionally lit.

The most important aspect to remember is to continue to keep your tree watered well. When you place Christmas lights on your tree make sure you follow to instructions and don't place too many on it. Never use lights that are worn, and never use candles.

Keep your tree at least three feet away from a source of heat. Be sure to put it far away from anything that has an open flame that can accidentally reach it. Don't place it in an area that will get too much direct contact with sunlight because you don't want it to have unnecessary water loss.

The Buzz About Wireless Security Systems

By Matthew Kerridge

Firstly, we need to learn exactly what wireless security systems are and why they are very popularly required in this modern day and age. With how common using wireless network and internet connections are with technology moving so quickly in businesses, the requirement for these to be secures is important.

The majority of modern organizations now use wireless networks, along with a high number of individuals in the home. A lot of laptops have what are called wireless network cards which allow them to connect to the internet without any wires plugged into their machine. These carry a high risk of being used by other unauthorized users, which is why looking into wireless security systems is important.

Hackers are very predominant in very recent years and work very hard to get into corporate companies systems. Without wireless security systems they will become extremely prone and vulnerable to attacks on their network, and this can cause massive issues for the company.

For these reasons, it is highly vital that companies and individuals pay heed to this potential risk and ensure that they look into wireless security systems. This will guard against unsolicited use of internet and networking systems. Special encryption rules can be used to try and block out hackers. Encryption in short, is a way of mangling passwords and important information, so it needs to be descrambled before it is of use to anyone.

The potential risks of this nature have increased steadily over the years since the internet has become a much more commonplace facility for people to have. Unfortunately many at home users are unaware of the dangers that could possibly face them and this is often abused by hackers.

It is a myth that companies which do not run any wireless networks are excluded from such risks. This is simply not the case as many people from outside of the business who visit, can bring in bugs and malware on their laptops and as soon as those are linked into the network, that data can be transferred both ways.

Investing in wireless security systems has become a multi billion dollar business in the past few years due to these issues. Large corporate companies simply cannot take the risk of not installing security. If a hacker or virus were to take their system down, they can lose a fortune in business every single minute until it can be fixed.

Related Job Description

Day-to-day, a commercial property manager organizes jobs that do not have a common thread except that they relate to commercial property. They often believe that other skills required for a commercial property manager can be learned on the job or obtained from taking courses.

Benefits of Having a Safe in Your Home

By Pierre Levingston

Normally when we think of safes in a home we think of wealthy people or safes being hidden behind paintings. The truth is a safe is a good investment that many homeowners are using more and more frequently. Safes are a good security investment for a home.

If you want to add another security level to your home, a safe may be just the answer for you. Safes make thievery harder because a thief no longer has easy access to items. They also can work to protect items against physical harm that may befall your home.

They also come in a variety of sizes and styles to fit your needs. Safes can come with padlocks, digital keypad locks, key locks, or combination locks. Some safes utilize more than one lock style for added safe security.

It's important to find a safe that works well for you. Although some safes may be less susceptible to a forced entry than others, it's important to be able for you to easily access it yourself. If you are barring your own entrance to the safe, you probably won't be continually placing important documents, articles and possessions there.

When deciding on a safe consider what items you will want to place in the safe. Whether its placing family heirlooms inside or emergency cash, keep a list to see how big your safe needs to be. You'll want to know the dimensions of your safe before you can decide on where you want the safe to be located.

Smaller safes are easier to hide; yet a larger safe is harder for thieves to move out of a home. Decide what security measures you already have in place when deciding on the right safe for you. If your home already has a home alarm system in place, an intruder would have little time to deal with breaking into a safe so you may want to bolt the safe down so they wouldn't be tempted to hoist the safe out with them.

When trying to decide on a location choose a place that will be convenient. You wouldn't want to place a safe in an attic, but in an easily reached place that won't attract too much attention. Some good ideas are closets, bedrooms, workshops, dens and garages.

Safes can easily be made fireproof and waterproof. This is a very important feature when trying to secure your valuables from harm. Many people have lost everything in fires or floods, so this is a great way to keep your special items safe.

Columbus Garage Door Repair Helps You Avoid Being Stuck

By Jacob Willerman

Anything that gets constant use, no matter how high quality, is going to wear down over time, and garage doors are no different. Though they are very simple mechanically, involving springs and a motor, you will still probably need to call on a specialist in Columbus garage door repair when you experience problems.

The part that usually gets worn out is the spring or springs. They really do most of the work in the raising and lowering of the door which is why the motor can be of such low horsepower. Springs can be either extension or tension springs. If the latter, they are so tightly coiled, they normally need to be replaced by an expert.

You will normally notice that the springs are starting to wear down because the door will begin to open and shut more slowly. If you see this happening, it is a good idea to get help in before the door actually breaks.

Should the door not open, the trouble may be your remote opener. In this case, go ahead and replace the battery and that alone may resolve your problem. If not, it is possible that a motor malfunction is the reason it is not opening.

Garage doors can also become misaligned on their tracks, often because of damage from going in and out of the garage. Other track problems can be avoided with regular oiling and maintenance.

Regular inspection and maintenance of your garage door is a good idea to prevent as best as possible a complete breakdown. These rarely happen at an opportune moment. Usually, you are late as it is, and dressed in work or dress clothes that make trying to open a heavy door manually awkward at best.

It is theoretically possible to lift the door yourself but it can be too heavy for some. I have personally been stuck with my car on one side of an extremely heavy (homemade) garage door with no one around to help me with it. Had I known then what I know now, I would have much rather had someone come to inspect it every so often.

There are many professionals in the area that specialize in Columbus garage door repair and maintenance. Call around and get some quotes on the service that you need. Remember that these parts are not especially expensive although motors are definitely more so than springs. If you get a quote that is much higher or lower than the others, you may want to think twice before going with that company.

This type of system takes when it is time to install and leads to drilling and other types of damage to walls.

Furthermore, these systems work through the telephone line. Any problems with the line will certainly cause problems would be alarm. But, wireless alarm systems work completely different. They do not use wires. Nor do they use the telephone line.

Having a wireless alarm system means that you can also benefit from reduced home insurance rates. Of course, this is because these security systems keep thieves out.

What we should do when things go bad.

When the financial market is in chaos all across the world, people consider clinging on to whatever they have and also reduce expenses. And they think that everybody does so, mainly because newspapers proclaim as such.

Everyone ISN`T acting that way of course. In fact, some people and some businesses thrive no matter where the economy is going. And when you look for why that is, you find that the answer often lies in a simple place where most people have never even looked. Let's explore together.

When a current is going downward, whatever the reason be, the way to survive is by rowing against the current. If we let ourselves to be swept away by the current, we may sink deep down and survival might become difficult.

The truth is that when we know how to steer ourselves and be our own masters, we will able to stay afloat or swim against the current, come what may. Let us see how we can manage it.

'Go-getters' or 'Go-givers'

Consider a situation where we want much more - fatter profit, a salary boost, lengthier holidays, better freedom, and better prospects.

When we want something, the first thing we tend to do is to go and get it. So, we call ourselves 'Go-getters'. And being a 'go-getter' is, let's face it, a sign of leadership, activism and an early-adopter mindset. This is of course one of the keys to the success formulae we often read about. But there is a problem. It turns out that when we use this 'strategy', there are some unexpected (but quite predictable) consequences.

The crux of the problem is that after 'getting' and 'owning' a thing, what eventually happens is 'dropping' it. We either actually throw it away or become indifferent to it.

Then our interest swings to something else. This continuous swaying of interest is the biggest issue; the widening interests becoming a never-ending circle of desires so that we are never satisfied with what we have. It becomes a sort of junk food dependency!

Why don't we turn our 'getting' into contributing?

You've probably noticed that giving always creates a great feeling. And it comes from gratitude rather than from fear or greed. We can continue to give more and receive more on our now, ever-fulfilling journey.

Our abundant and providing attitude creates abundant and providing clients and team mates while our cost awareness and 'getting approach' would draw towards us only similar clients and team mates. And those are the type of people we would not like to be friends with!

Inspiring capitalism

Many businesses see this now. They are now starting to give more and more in various ways. There's a veritable 'sea-change' going on as more people 'get' the role that giving can play in their business. Bill Gates is a class example. In a July 2008 lead article in TIME Magazine he referred to it as 'Creative Capitalism'.

He said: "Doing good might be the tipping point that leads people to choose one product over another."

The essence of what he says is that when a business has ties with the idea of giving in one way or other, it is bound to be more tempting to others. It stands out above thousand businesses the attributes of which are similar.

Creative Capitalism is the idea of taking things a step higher than the destination at which one would have originally chosen to make the compromise. When we can leverage our visions and initiatives in a way that helps and promotes the needs of the global society, we are conserving things, efforts and abilities in trying to win pro tem. Then we begin fashioning genuine success for us as well as for supporting our global financial system.

The attraction of effective giving

CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility is the word used for delineating the process of business establishments giving back to the community. It is becoming an obligation on the part of enterprises to do so. But when they donate as a duty or just for creating a good impression, it would soon become easy to make out. However, it works as an interim ploy for survival.

Individuals and enterprises that 'contribute', appeal to everyone. Their fervour and conviction about what they do are acknowledged by the people with whom they build up relationships. This acknowledgement is in addition to the official public relations campaign of the establishment.

So, what happens if we allocate some of the marketing budget to go toward giving?

Giving gives rise to something greater than what we actually are. It has the power to inspire. And true inspiration is possible only when it echoes on the people whom we want to enthuse. And we are enthused only when we put our heart and soul into the procedure. It is simply not sufficient to listen to the interesting tales. One has to become part and parcel of the whole process. Everyone has this inclination to make one's own input - to one's immediate relatives, friends, and to the society at large.

Transaction-based giving makes it inevitable

The facility for contributing became so much simpler because of a programme (or one can say a 'development') called Buy1GIVE1 (Buy One Give One). Buy1GIVE1 is the heart of transaction-based giving. Transaction-based giving revolutionises things. Let us use our creativity and analyse how.

How would you like the scenario whereby every time you have a coke at a nearby eatery, a needy child in Africa gets clean water at least for a single day?

Or a different scenario where with every subscription to a journal that you would like to read, a sapling gets planted somewhere where it was badly needed? Or whenever you ate out, someone routinely got fed out of its profit?

Or let's say you're being coached in your business. How interesting would it be to know that a child was educated for one month as a direct result (and by the way, all it cost the coaching company to do that was 60 cents per day).

Where a motivational speaker at a conference is connected with a charity, part of his income might go to helping kids who have speech problems due to facial defects. It will be a matter of great satisfaction for the participants at the conference to know that their very participation is helping a deserving cause.

Imagine now if you could apply transaction-based giving in your own unique way to match your main products/services to engage your customers and team members to be part of the giving story. Here's how.

The economy where all benefits

Already, companies right around the world are 'getting' the power of this transaction-based giving. Just one example-the UK's leading supermarket chain, TESCO now gives a school uniform to a child in Kenya whenever a customer buys a pair of school trousers.

Volvic is a Mineral Water Company that launched its scheme of transaction-based giving program last year. They help the cause of making wells in Africa. They call the scheme Buy1 GIVE 10 as it helps in generating a flow of 10 litres of water in the well, by every single litre of water they sell.

Middle level and comparatively small enterprises are now in the forefront in widening this global giving phenomenon through Creative Capitalism. Buy1GIVE1 (www.b1g1.com), a Singapore-based Social Enterprise came up with an effective strategy which has turned this transaction-based giving into a movement that anyone who wants can participate in.

Buy1GIVE1 is the home of the most impactful transaction-based giving in the world because it connects any business of any size to any cause in the world. It's creating a global community of business givers and for SME`s, Buy1GIVE1 connects businesses, their customers AND charities in a way that hasn't been done before. And it all happens automatically.

Any person can become a citizen of this phenomenon of global giving merely by getting a Buy1GIVE1 `VISA` directly off the Buy1GIVE1 site at www.b1g1.com. Those who have their own enterprise can become a B1G1 Business through applying online and selecting the charity and the primary service or product for launching the giving. Buy1GIVE1 forwards the entire contribution amount to their international Worthy Cause Partners (more than 528 projects are available for members to choose from) thereby making their contributions highly productive.

Have you considered?

* Half the population of the globe -about three billion people-is forced to survive on less than two dollars a day.

* Even in the 21st century, which is the age of the internet, there are about a billion people who have never put a pen to a paper.

* UNICEF has reported that more than 30,000 children die every day due to abject poverty, which makes it 20 child a minute and 210,000 a week.

* A mere 12 percent of the world's population uses 85 percent of its water; and these 12 percent do not live in the Third World.

* About a billion people have no access to minimum health care facilities.

* Every year about 63,000 square miles of rainforests get decimated.

Unearthing what we are looking for-Nature's eternal secret

So let's let us return to the starting point-turbulent economics and managing to get what we need. The needs are in fact not all that knotty. They are just a group of three words that begin with the letter S - strong bonds, solidarity and society.

When we can team up rather than break up and thus create a perfect way to combine resources rather than carry away from one another, we will perceive that there is so much more profusion and so many reserves present on the planet. And when we build relationships, not just with one another but with our innate selves, we understand something infinitely beautiful-that we're all ONE. Then we realise how simple it is to form an international society from something as commonplace as giving.

And the truth is there in all its glory in nature.

In earth's natural workshop, beautiful butterflies fertilize flowers and help to produce gardens that continue generation after generation. It was there even before recorded history.

When a fiasco inundates the world, it should be leveraged to turn it into a benefit to return to normalcy. Now is the time to acknowledge what we have got and forge ahead to succeed.

And when you choose to start giving today, you will feel so much better despite the economic challenges. And when you feel better you will discover a renewal of hope and you will remember all tides change and the down will soon be up. Giving today is the one thing that you can do to change everything.
