If you believe you can handle the training which calls for enormous amounts of strength and stamina, then you will need to have success in having a positive attitude. Survey the range of the sport so that one can further understand the reason for the training and tactics.

Begin intensely and use a schedule that your body can take as the majority of people who win their matches spend a lot of their day in training and keeping their body in shape. Usually training involves an amount great strength so for you to attain a minimal fitness level, you must start with a high level intensity preparation. Several martial artists utilize several combinations for training so they can test their limits and how the technique will work out for them. Resistance training or functional weight is necessary to get a high level of strength.

If you lack the ability to do it by yourself find someone who can teach you how since in this time there are a lot of mixed martial arts schools that can give support and training to those needing it MMA training facilities are dedicated in showing students that participate in their classes that anyone can obtain the needed strength to perform this martial art which can also be useful in self-defense. Such as,a number of boxing institutions offers some training for people want to learn basic MMA tactics. It is advised to train at clubs, organizations or schools not solely for someone to learn the teachings but also to fight in the ring.

If you are fond of MMA you should watch some of the UFC videos because this is a good step obtaining the discipline seeing experienced players or masters manipulate their opponents will show you tips what is allowed, and what is not allowed in matches. If it's at all possible, find old data made for the Ultimate Fighting Championship then work your way up to the present which already stabilizes the current movement in MMA. There are tons and tons of videos made by MMA masters: Tito Ortiz or Chuck Liddell that can teach you different incorporations of the techniques. Observe as much as possible maintaining your stand on your training and knowing by heart the details of the numerous techniques that can or cannot be useful.

Even though training is as pertinent as winning a match it is also extremely pertinent for you being the player should observe safety and caution. Before you initialize your training you have to do some warm-ups first because all your training will go to waste if you severely injure yourself even before starting the big fight.

Things to Know About Wireless Surveillance Camera Systems

By Tom Jenson Kevin Rubenstein Michael Scott

If you're looking to set up wireless surveillance camera systems in your business or in your home, you should carefully decide between using a wireless IP or a wireless analog camera. There are multiple pros and cons for each type, so making the best choice might not be as simple. Let's take a look at the differences between the two to see which is right for you.

The main difference between these types of wireless surveillance camera systems is how the video signal is delivered to the location that you want. Similar to regular TV, analog wireless cameras transfer signal via transmitter and receiver devices. On the other hand, IP wireless cameras use a digital wireless network to send the signals instead.

Wireless security cameras offer an additional level of convenience, and allow easier installation. Something to consider when dealing with wireless systems is the distance between the devices. You want to make sure that the devices are close enough to prevent loss of reception.

Wireless security cameras come in two basic types - those that are analog (often found as part of a package or kit), and those that are IP based. The analog type will include a receiver and transmitter, and will work a lot like an ordinary television camera, with the transmitter and receiver simply replacing the cable. The camera is connected to the transmitter and sends a signal to the recording device. These systems are good, but are prone to bad interference and your transmitted signal can sometimes be picked up by outside sources, making privacy a concern.

The second type, IP wireless based cameras, uses a network adapter to work just like having another computer connected in your network. This adapter is connected to a router and sends a digital video signal to a computer. You can see and record the video from any of your network protected computers. Wireless IP cameras are a good choice because they provide higher quality digital signal that is encrypted and provide more security and privacy. These cameras are better suited for remote surveillance making interference not likely.

Wireless surveillance camera systems are easy and fast to place without the worries of hanging wires all over. They're the best choice for those who arent tech savvy and look for something simple and easy to install. However, they aren't always the best choice for every installation.

If you're thinking about protecting your home or business with security cameras, take the time to consider where you'll be placing the cameras. That will help you determine whether analog or IP wireless cameras are the right choice for you.

Also take into consideration that wireless cameras arent always the best choice. Wired surveillance camera systems always provide the optimal protection every security system should have. It is strongly recommended to consider a wired system, leaving wireless as a last choice.

There is one special individual to commend in this case and that is Joseph H. Pilates who was altogether a skin diver, skier, and a skilled gymnast. Before he became any of those though, he was a sickly child who fortunately had a lot of exercise motivation.

When Pilates developed the fitness program his intention was to use this for the war victims who had injuries. When it was introduced, he had his first students which were mostly dancers who noticed the various benefits of this program. Since then, Pilates fitness exercises was known well and reached the standards of physically challenged individuals, elderly people, health enthusiasts to movie actors and actresses.

In case you are thinking what Pilates fitness means, here is a brief summary of it. Pilates fitness is about the body motion performed slowly but purposefully with the intention of improving body condition and core muscle appearance. With its philosophy that if an individual doing this fitness will be able to develop his midsection muscles, he will also tend to develop the other sections of the body.

The program has a properly planned Pilates exercise which serves as the guiding rules of the participants that allow them to do the slow movements starting from the small-scale ones increasing to large-scales. This kind of program results to improved body condition and better control of joints all coordinated to generate the best physicality possible.

This Pilates exercises are good for those who are on their senior years since their body is aging and needs slow motion to reduce the effects of aging and to control the body to become more improved when it comes to good posture, coordination, flexibility, and strength. This fitness is also advisable to individuals who went through surgical operations.

Then again, the Pilates fitness and training needs more than the physical aspect of involvement. You also need to coordinate your mind with your body so that your movements would go in harmony. Just like doing yoga or meditation, you need to concentrate and meditate as you do the fitness program incorporated with proper breathing. You can do the fitness with exercise mats or with other Pilates fitness equipments available.

Pilates fitness program provides their own set of equipments for the training. Some of those are the reformer, the pedipull, the cadillac, the barrel and the chair. These equipments are specifically designed to allow the participant to concentrate more on the training to be able to generate the best results possible. Through this training and equipments, the muscles and body inward core work out in such a way that it also stretches the outward core.

Evidently, Pilates fitness training is a whole new world of exercise. If you?re the type who wants to achieve a slimmer body that is also strong and well toned, then Pilates is the one for you.

Can Anyone Teach You Leadership?

By charlie reese

Can leadership be taught is one of those questions that everyone in the business world asks from time to time. Nowadays, leadership in the workplace is such a big deal that it is impossible to overlook. Everyone wants dedicated, determined, self-motivated people under them. It makes for a more efficient environment and a greater degree of innovation. Ideally, everyone would be a leader. Everyone would be able to critically evaluate what he or she is doing and determine how to do an even better job.

Nevertheless, the question can leadership Be taught is by no means an easy question. Some people believe that it can't. There are a lot of people who eschew leadership training programs, arguing that some people are born leaders and other people are born followers. Other people have a very different approach. They believe that leadership can be taught. I have gone to several leadership training seminars as part of the human resources department of my company, and I have seen some pretty convincing arguments both ways. Ultimately, I think that anyone who honestly asks can leadership be taught will eventually find their way to the same answer: yes.

That doesn't mean that everyone will be able to lead to the same degree. Can leadership be taught is one question; can everyone be a great leader is another one. The answer to the first is yes, but the answer to the second surely is no. Nonetheless, everyone can learn skills of self motivation, independence, and personal responsibility. Everyone can learn to stand a little bit taller and take responsibility for his or her actions.

That isn't to say that leadership is the end-all and be-all goal of every business. It simply isn't. There are plenty of other skills that are important besides leadership. You want organized people, and people who are willing to take orders and do what you ask them to. Having too many people with a strong desire to lead can undermine this position.

Still, you don't want to have to micromanage every second of every day for every person. Knowing that your workers can be counted on to act independently is a pretty reassuring thing for anyone in business. That is why so many businesses nowadays are willing to invest so many resources in teaching leadership courses. You don't want everyone to be in charge, but you do want everyone to be in charge of himself.

What You Should Know About Home Security Systems

By Tony DeFranco

Years ago, home burglar alarms were only found with rich homes. These days however, the prices have dropped and they are becoming more common with homes of average folk. A lot of people who invest in burglar systems go for the do it yourself systems. They can be wired or wireless, setting off an alarm when an intruder attempts to break in or when they are moving around inside of your house.

The basic design of the home security systems are broken down into two different groups, open circuit or closed circuit. With the open circuit sytems, the alarm is triggered when the circuit closes. If a closed circuit alarm is setup on a window and it closes, it will trip the alarm. And, as you can imagine, with the open circuit alarms, if the window is opened it will break the circuit and set off the alarm.

Another, more sophisticated option, are motion sensors. Motion sensors sense any type of motion within a certain radius to the sensor. Once it has sensed any motion, it sends a signal out to the control panel that will analyze it and see if the movement is considered suspicious. If the movement is indeed considered suspicious, it will react to the way you have it set up and inform the proper authorities or sound the alarm.

You can set up your motion sensor for different things. Such as if you have a pet or other common movements in you house. Going with a motion sensor is a very good idea and has caught on recently, and it is a wonderful way to protect your house and the ones you love.

Normally, it's a good idea to use motion sensors and magnetic switches with your burglar alarm setup. Magnetic switches will protect doors and windows while the motion sensors will help to protect larger rooms, such as living rooms and hallways. The combination of the two is never a bad idea - and will go a long way in protecting your home.

Another available option that you have is a security camera. Video cameras are also common these days, and can be mounted in very strategic areas throughout the parameter of your home. They will pick up images in the area they are mounted, which will be displayed on the monitor. You can also record the video to a videotape as well, making it an ideal choice for anyone who wants to keep track of the information that the camera picks up.

And if you dont feel like doing it yourself, you can always get a home security company to do it. These companies keep a close eye on everything and usually has somebody around all the time. The cool thing with this option is if the alarm is triped, then the security company will call the police. This is probably the best 24 hour option to protect your home.

Home security systems are by far one of the best investments you can make for your home. And with all the many options, you can get what you really need. If getting robbed is something that is always on your mind, then you definitely need to get a security system. It helps you know that you are protected. And the fact that the price range is so flexible is nice too. If you are a home owner then you really need to make sure you protect yourself!

Should You Buy Pepper Spray

By Nui Big Kahuna

Before I get to how to buy pepper spray, I gotta tell you I'm feeling like there's something bubbling beneath the surface this morning that needs to get out. It's kind of like a volcanic heat, or a white phosphorous grenade, for those of you familiar with ordnance.

Yesterday on the telly the story was AIG. Outrage! More outrage!

Yeah, the CEO Ed Liddy has a tin ear, but that's not what I want to talk about here. And I'm not saying AIG executives, who ran the company into the toilet deserve a dime, because they don't.

The real story you should pay attention to, is the goofballs who were basking in the well of the House and Senate, taunting AIG executives with confiscatory taxes if the money isn't returned. The brigade was led by our wonderful friend Chuck Schumer, the senior Senator from New York.

Ole Chucko bristled while his ally John Kerry stared and probably wondered when he could get a bathroom break to rid himself of the previous night's filet de boofe.

But here's a little known fact you might want to know about. The candidates who received the most money from AIG are:

1. Christopher Dodd - shocking right? Ha. Wherever you see, or don't see, corruption, Chris Dodd just happens to be there...watching the building collapse. But he'll set everything right for sure.

2. Chuck (U Farley) Schumer - Now this is interesteing. The guy leading the cavalry against AIG got himself the second largest pile of campaign contributions.

3. President B.O. - That's right ladies and gentlemen...El Jefe squeezed in third in the campaign dough sweepstakes...followed of course by...

4. John (The Reformer) McCain - who was followed by...

5. John (Boy) Kerry

6. Joe Lieberman

7. Joe (Huh?) Biden

Sure...there were a smattering of Republicans who took money too...but 85% of those who took AIG money were in the Dumbo Party. (Hey, it's a lot easier to collect those big bundles.)

Their money should be taken away.

They should be fined an amount equal to what they took, and then some.

Kick them right out of their offices too.

They should be forced to clean bathrooms at Penn Station in New York for the rest of their miserable hypocritical lives. (Or live with Nancy Pelosi.)

So...you want to buy pepper spray.

Let's say you want it to protect your family, yourself, or even your stupid liberal nephew from Connecticut. Or New York, or Massachusetts.

There are a few things to keep in mind.

1. Your surroundings.

2. Where your are located.

3. The distance involved.

4. What kind of heat you're looking for.

You should be asking yourself:

Am I going to be inside or outside? Is there wind? Is it raining? If I'm inside and use pepper spray what do I do next? When do I strike? Do I hit multiple times? How strong should my pepper spray be?

Personally, like Tim the Toolman Taylor, I like more power. So I always go for Wildfire. It can burn the balls off a bear in seconds, believe me I know. Now sometimes you might prefer the Mace Pepper Gun, which has a good range of twenty-five feet. It won't burn like the tenth level of hell, but sometimes you only need Level 1 or 2. And believe me, the mook won't know the difference.

All pepper spray works as a deterrent, and a very good one. My personal feeling is that some deterrents are better than others, and they leave some quality psychological scarring on a mook. Wildfire leaves a permanent dent on a mook's psyche, and he will forever associate whatever his hustle was with severe pain.

The Mace Pepper Gun can take a mook out without you getting close.

But the thing is, to be effective, you must buy pepper spray, some kind, some type, and carry it with you. It sure as hell isn't going to be effective sitting in my warehouse. (I pity the fool...)

You have to buy pepper spray and keep it around to get the benefit.

And dream of the day you get attacked by a dirty, unshaved mook who looks like Chris Dodd...(spray spray...Oh is that you Senator...spray spray...I know it hurts...spray spray...what did you say there...spray spray...did you ever give back that AIG money?)

Try it, thinking about that scenario is more fun than you'd imagine.

Well, it helps me anyway.

The Formula for Failure and Success by Jim Rohn

This is so good I had to re-post it to all my blogs. Very enlightening thought on failure or success. I vote for SUCCESS!!!

"Economic disaster begins with a philosophy of doing less and
wanting more."

-- Jim Rohn

The Formula for Failure and Success by Jim Rohn

Failure is not a single, cataclysmic event. We do not fail overnight.

Failure is the inevitable result of an accumulation of poor
thinking and poor choices. To put it more simply, failure is
nothing more than a few errors in judgment repeated every day.

Now why would someone make an error in judgment and then be so
foolish as to repeat it every day? The answer is because he or she
does not think that it matters.

On their own, our daily acts do not seem that important. A minor
oversight, a poor decision, or a wasted hour generally doesn't
result in an instant and measurable impact. More often than not, we
escape from any immediate consequences of our deeds.

If we have not bothered to read a single book in the past ninety
days, this lack of discipline does not seem to have any immediate
impact on our lives. And since nothing drastic happened to us after
the first ninety days, we repeat this error in judgment for another
ninety days, and on and on it goes.

Why? Because it doesn't seem to matter. And herein lies the great
danger.

Far worse than not reading the books is not even realizing that it
matters!

Those who eat too many of the wrong foods are contributing to a
future health problem, but the joy of the moment overshadows the
consequence of the future. It does not seem to matter. Those who
smoke too much or drink too much go on making these poor choices
year after year after year... because it doesn't seem to matter.

But the pain and regret of these errors in judgment have only been
delayed for a future time.

Consequences are seldom instant; instead, they accumulate until the
inevitable day of reckoning finally arrives and the price must be
paid for our poor choices - choices that didn't seem to matter.

Failure's most dangerous attribute is its subtlety. In the short
term those little errors don't seem to make any difference. We do
not seem to be failing. In fact, sometimes these accumulated errors
in judgment occur throughout a period of great joy and prosperity
in our lives.

Since nothing terrible happens to us, since there are no instant
consequences to capture our attention, we simply drift from one day
to the next, repeating the errors, thinking the wrong thoughts,
listening to the wrong voices and making the wrong choices.

The sky did not fall in on us yesterday; therefore the act was
probably harmless. Since it seemed to have no measurable
consequence, it is probably safe to repeat.

But we must become better educated than that!

If at the end of the day when we made our first error in judgment
the sky had fallen in on us, we undoubtedly would have taken
immediate steps to ensure that the act would never be repeated again.

Like the child who places his hand on a hot burner despite his
parents' warnings, we would have had an instantaneous experience
accompanying our error in judgment.

Unfortunately, failure does not shout out its warnings as our
parents once did. This is why it is imperative to refine our
philosophy in order to be able to make better choices.

With a powerful, personal philosophy guiding our every step, we
become more aware of our errors in judgment and more aware that
each error really does matter.

Now here is the great news. Just like the formula for failure, the
formula for success is easy to follow: It's a few simple
disciplines practiced every day.

Now here is an interesting question worth pondering: How can we
change the errors in the formula for failure into the disciplines
required in the formula for success? The answer is by making the
future an important part of our current philosophy.

Both success and failure involve future consequences, namely the
inevitable rewards or unavoidable regrets resulting from past
activities. If this is true, why don't more people take time to
ponder the future?

The answer is simple: They are so caught up in the current moment
that it doesn't seem to matter. The problems and the rewards of
today are so absorbing to some human beings that they never pause
long enough to think about tomorrow.

But what if we did develop a new discipline to take just a few
minutes every day to look a little further down the road? We would
then be able to foresee the impending consequences of our current
conduct. Armed with that valuable information, we would be able to
take the necessary action to change our errors into new
success-oriented disciplines.

In other words, by disciplining ourselves to see the future in
advance, we would be able to change our thinking, amend our errors
and develop new habits to replace the old.

One of the exciting things about the formula for success - a few
simple disciplines practiced every day - is that the results are
almost immediate. As we voluntarily change daily errors into daily
disciplines, we experience positive results in a very short period
of time. When we change our diet, our health improves noticeably in
just a few weeks.

When we start exercising, we feel a new vitality almost
immediately. When we begin reading, we experience a growing
awareness and a new level of self-confidence. Whatever new
discipline we begin to practice daily will produce exciting results
that will drive us to become even better at developing new
disciplines.

The real magic of new disciplines is that they will cause us to
amend our thinking. If we were to start today to read the books,
keep a journal, attend the classes, listen more and observe more,
then today would be the first day of a new life leading to a better
future.

If we were to start today to try harder, and in every way make a
conscious and consistent effort to change subtle and deadly errors
into constructive and rewarding disciplines, we would never again
settle for a life of existence - not once we have tasted the fruits
of a life of substance!

Stress Reduction through Gratitude

By Deanna Collins

We are all aware of the stressful times we are surrounded with, and these situations can easily lead us to feeling overwhelmed. Learning to combat stress is a helpful skill we can learn so as to regain a maximized quality of life. There is a very effective way of doing this, through cognitive redirection, and focusing on the positive aspects of our lives instead of the negative ones. By taking the time to acknowledge good fortune in our lives, and not allowing setbacks or problems to become dominating factor in our outlook allows us to deal with stress on a more successful level.

Many times it's just easier to be ungrateful about the things we do not have instead of being grateful for the positive things we have been dealt or what we have achieved. These positive parts of our lives are often overlooked and taken for granted until some sort of disaster hits. All too often we can forget about having a roof over our heads, a warm bed and even a hot shower. Once we can identify those things for which we have to be grateful for, we have the perfect exercise for positive thinking, and it could actually change our feelings towards stress as well as balancing out the related effects.

The causes of stress can be related to many different factors; however its definition is as a state where an individual is not in balance with his or her surroundings. We have knowledge now that the dissimilation between body and mind is of limited usefulness. Any type of trauma to the body can also affect the mind, just as negative thoughts can affect the body. Experiences of a stressful nature which prompt negative emotions can directly have an affect on body chemistry. In response to threat and stress, the production of hormones and other chemical substances, including adrenalin and cortisol is taken over by the body.

Fortunately this works both ways. A calming environment along with some positive thoughts can fight the mental and physical effects of stress. Allow yourself a bit of time every day simply to concentrate on the positive - even if it is as little as a few minutes - you will be able to remove yourself from the causes and effects of stress.

Problems can hang over the things going well, leaving a shadow and distorting perceptions. By learning to recognize those gifts of good fortune can drastically change our perspective. For example, we panic about uncompleted work instead of giving ourselves a pat on the back for our achievements. Especially in situations where stress is of a prolonged nature, it could develop into patterns of automatically jumping to negative conclusions. By focusing on those things that make us happy is quite the technique for disrupting that negative pattern of thinking, and thus reducing stress. It can even give our immune system a boost!

If you are tense, stressed and can't see the wood for the trees, it may initially be hard to identify things to be grateful for. It may take practice, but it can be something as simple as a sunny day or a flower blooming in the garden. At first you will probably rely on hindsight but with time you will find it becoming easier.

While training yourself to recognize the many reasons you have to be grateful, the amount of time you spend taking things for granted will lessen dramatically. Seeing that flower blooming will trigger the recognition for seeing the reasons for celebration. As this appreciation integrates into your daily routine and functionality you can, and will discover how this process will reinforce positive thinking as well as your capacity to deal with stress.

The Sport of Martial Arts

By charlie reese

With the victories of many different Brazilian mixed martial arts champions in national competitions in recent years, Brazilian martial arts have really come into their own. From professional street fighting courses to Brazilian martial arts for kids, the fighting skills of Brazil have a truly international audience and the fame and fortune that they deserve. Not only martial arts enthusiasts, but also casual fans, people looking for a good workout, and even dancers are getting excited about some of these fascinating fighting arts.

The most well-known Brazilian martial art, of course, is Brazilian jujitsu. This is a very practical, brutal, and straightforward fighting art. It involves a lot of grappling and ground fighting " techniques that are often neglected in many Chinese martial arts and quite a few Japanese arts as well. Because it is unconventional, it is a great art for catching fighters by surprise. When you are attacked by a Brazilian martial arts fighter, you don't know what hit you. All of a sudden, you are on the ground being pummeled.

Of course, Brazilian capoeira is also an extremely popular martial art nowadays. It is less practical than the other Brazilian martial arts, but it is much more beautiful. Basically, it is a martial art designed to look like a dance. The legend goes that it was invented by slaves as a way to train without arousing suspicion among their masters. By making the moves look like a dance, they have invented a very beautiful, but deadly art.

Figuring out which Brazilian martial arts are best for you is not very hard. The two principal Brazilian martial arts " capoeira and Brazilian ju jitsu " are so different from each other, that Most people are much more strongly drawn to one than the other. If you want a straightforward, deadly fighting art, Brazilian jujitsu is the way to go.

If, on the other hand, you want a fun and athletic activity that will teach you rhythm, coordination, and self-defense, Brazilian capoeira is obviously the superior choice. Neither Brazilian martial art is inherently better than the other. Both of them have their strengths and weaknesses, and the important thing is to find something that you personally like and stick with it. After all, any martial art will teach you how to fight. You might as well find one that is fun for you personally so that you will work hard at it.

Using the Right Words to Apply Covert Hypnosis

By Rob Andrews

Which words should you use to cause covert hypnosis?

A way to change how someone feels is to use words that cause the person view things differently. I refer to this as reframing.

The classic example of reframing is the glass is not half empty, its half full. In this reframe you are trying to get the person to see the positive side of things, and not focus on the negative side.

You can use reframing for more complex things by changing some very simple words in a sentence. For example, think about the difference between these three sentences:

It's gorgeous outside today, but it's going to be overcast tomorrow.

It's very pretty outside today, and tomorrow it's going to rain.

Its beautiful outside today, even though its going to be cloudy tomorrow.

Each of these sentences describes the same thing, but by changing just one or two words you change the way you think about each day. Read these three again and think about how each makes you feel about the weather today, and tomorrow. Notice the difference?

There can be many ways to reframe things.

By using words that enlarge the frame, the person you are speaking with will focus on the big picture.

Like, when a person is at a store and is worried about buying a pair of shoes because she knows that a store across town has the same pair for a few dollars less, you may say something like, Wow, I know that the other store has the same pair for a couple dollars less, but thats an hour away. How much gas do you think you would use up driving over there?

The situation context can also be reframed.

Friend: Boy! I wanted to go to the beach, but listen to that wind outside... it won't be nice today.

You: Ya, it wouldnt be much fun sitting on the beach in the wind, but look at the wave! It would be a great day for surfing!

The content reframe is another kind of reframe.

Friend: Can you believe that guy! He just passed us doing a hundred miles an hour! What a jerk!

You: Yep, he was really whizzing by and I think I saw his emergency lights blinking. You think he was heading to the hospital?

So you can see how changing the language you use can actually change someones attitude about things.

One powerful type of conversational hypnosis is reframing.

Reframing let's you distract the listener's conscious mind and causes her to listen to her subconscious brain.

The person does not go into a deep trance like you would expect in a hypnotists office, but he does look inward to the subconscious to think differently about things.

Weather Updates Online

By charlie reese

It was about the third time I had checked the weather updates that day, and I was getting impatient. Usually, the weather update on our local news channels pretty consistent, but today it kept going back and forth. The weather satellite showed an ambiguous situation, and the meteorologist could not decide what to make of it.

I wasn't just watching the weather updates for my health. I had an important reason to watch them. It wasn't just an ordinary outing either " it was a very special day for me. It was my first anniversary with my girlfriend, and I wanted everything to be perfect. I had a special day planned out for us " a trip the beach. Although it was only March, it was unseasonably warm. I figured that, if we could have an afternoon without rain, we would have one of the best days of our relationship so far.

Nonetheless, the weather live updates kept showing different things. One minute, they would say that there was only a 20% chance of rain, the next minute they would say that it was almost certain. Part of the problem was that there were two different weather channels, and they used different weather stations. One of them used a weather station on the coast just north of where we were going. Another used a station on the same latitude, but about a mile or two inland. Because weather out on the coast is so variable, we knew neither of these weather updates was completely certain. I could not begin to guess if it would rain or not.

By the time we were ready to leave, the weather updates looked like it was more likely to be sunny than rainy. Although I was not sure, I figured it was worth the risk. We headed out to try to make an early day of it so that we could beat the rain.

Although the weather updates haven't always been accurate in the past, usually they have been pretty good. This time, they held up. It was sunny all afternoon and only got cloudy towards evening time. By the time the rain started to fall, we were already on our way back from the coast having enjoyed one of the best days that I can remember. It is always thrilling when you get to go to the ocean early in the year and don't have to wait until the middle of the spring.

My Heart Attack

By Nui Kahuna

The Big Kahuna's trip to grandma's house yesterday was partly a good one, and partly a bad one. It was when he was happily driving along the long road when his internal organs backfired. He pulled over, made a few howls, and eventually made it to the nearest hospital. Good thing for him, he got a dose of morphine he needed.

So now he's been in the place for over 24 hours, and nobody can give him a straight answer as to what the problem is. It could be a blood clot. It could be a kidney infection.

It was quite disappointing when the cardiologists couldn't even tell me what's wrong, or what could have caused the excruciating pain while I was driving happily. All they could do was to give me a bunch of scary theories. The detail that made sense during that time was that the pain didn't come from my heart. Although the heart is processing faster than usual, it was just a reaction to the pain I experienced from the right side of my body. I noticed that these cardiologists were just more than ready to conduct any gore operation when a certain circumstance signals them to.

So you can imagine how crushed they were when I asked for a gastro-enterologist. They almost acted as if they had never heard of such a thing. It's a bit like asking for the doctor from another planet. But were talking about gall bladder, liver, kidneys, and all sorts of other plumbing that ain't got jack to do with the heart.

I'm not looking down on cardiologists. In fact, my life was even saved when I suffered an acute heart attack a few months ago. Thanks to them, it took me only a few days to recover.

However, it would be necessary to know how to speak up, even in a place like the hospital.

It's also necessary for any other place, even in the street. If you are emanating a strong sense of confidence, nobody will simply come up right in front of you, and give you problems you may never want to deal with. On the other hand, if you're the kind of person who emanates the weak aura, then you'll be a good target for any mook.

If you carry the best tools around, then you'll have to worry less walking down the street. I guess you'd just be more confident than what you used to be. The Big Kahuna 3 are The Runt, The Wildfire Pepper Spray, and most importantly, the Telescopic Steel Baton.

If you're a right-handed person, The Runt would be best situated on your right hip, and the wildfire in your left jacket pouch. The Telescopic Steel Baton would also be helpful if it is placed in your back pocket.

The Mace Pepper Gun would be best situated wherein the dominant hand could easily reach. The ladies could use this. The Runt and the Hot Shot Stun Gun would also be a good backup when placed on the hip, and not in the purse or the bag. The Wildfire could also serve as another backup when all else fails.

I could recall that there were a bunch of mooks standing by the doorway. They seemed to be eyeing me, like I was going to some other place. If they could have known the things that I have in store for people like them in my closet.

I have the gadgets they may need for a variety of electro experiences they would never ever forget.

The Vietnamese Prisoner

By Nui Kahuna

Last night about 11pm, I suddenly got very hungry, and so I grabbed my coat and keys and headed for the nearest 7-11. I picked out a couple of unhealthy snacks, bought a lottery ticket and jumped back in the car. It was frosty, about 28 degrees, and I turned on the heat. I started for home, and suddenly I saw a little guy in the middle of the road waving for help.

And I stopped, listened to his story and I told him to hop in.

His name was Pham, he's Vietnamese, and he is a year younger than me. But he looks 35. He was maybe a shade over 5 feet tall and weighed 120 pounds with rocks in his pockets.

He had locked his keys in his car, and had been walking for over 6 miles when I picked him up. It was another couple of miles to his house. When he got in the car he was shaking from the cold.

He needed to get another set of keys, so I drove him to his home, and then we went back to where he had left his car. He told me a little of his life story, and he also said remarkable things. Pham was in the Vietnamese Army before, and was allied with the Americans and were fighting along side with each other. But when the Americans pulled out of Vietnam, Pham was put to jail by the Northern Vietnamese for treason, by helping the Americans, he was supposed to serve in jail for 17 years.

Pham never stopped dreaming of coming to America one day. Then that one day came, when his brother came to the jail to tell him that they were leaving. The whole family had to leave vietnam to get Pham out of jail.

From jail to home, Pham walked his way, and then together with his whole family, they walked to a boat that took them to Norway where they lived for a year, then soon after an American Army Officer who knew Pham helped and sponsored them to the United States.

Pham works as car mechanic, he repairs and fixes American cars. All 15 of them, his family, purchased a big house two years ago in Virginia. Pham is really proud of the kind of life they have now, he got his dream and they are away from the chaos in Vietnam. He said, "My family is rich, not so much rich or billionaire rich, but where we are now is heaven compared to Vietnam."

"In Vietnam, there is no window to prosper, the people are still poor or even poorer and only the communists gets rich."

About 2 miles away from his car, he told me, "I knew you were going to help me, I could sense it, then soon as you rolled down your window, I feel you have a positive energy. I could feel things like this, and I could feel that you had no fear, even for a trusting a stranger like me. You had no fear cause there's someone else that always rides with you."

And then he just smiled.

I dropped him off, and he gave me his card, and offered to fix my car for free anytime. Then I drove home.

I've been in some pretty sticky situations in my life, and I've always pulled through somehow. It isn't the first time someone has told me about the other person riding shotgun, but it's the first time its ever happened with a complete stranger.

15 Ways for Women to Find Inspiration

By Deanna Collins

Inspiration comes when you least expect it. In fact, quite often if you're looking for inspiration it just cannot be found; however, rest assured if you're sitting in your car in traffic or doing the laundry a great idea or a profound aha moment will emerge. Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could find a way to create those moments each and every day?

You don't look for inspiration but you can look for these everyday inspirational tools.

15 Places to Seek your Inspiration

1. Music. Music fills our souls and it inspires wonderful things. Take a moment each and every day to listen to a favorite song or to listen to a new artist you've heard great things about. Don't just put the song on and go back to what you were doing, sit down and really listen to it. If there are words, and you know them, feel free to belt it out and sing along.

2. Animals. We are the keepers of animal life on earth. Pets love you unconditionally and you are called to do the same if you choose to open your home to them. Take a page from their book. Use them as a way to get inspired about life. Pets act on instinct and are quite amusing.

3. Nature. Whether it is the wind in the trees or the clouds in the sky, stop for a moment and just listen to nature. Experience it as you walk down the street. Experience it for a few moments each day sitting on your back porch.

4. Children. Whether they're your own or you're just watching them from afar, children have infinite wisdom. When they're really young, they live their lives with complete honesty.

5. Your favorite book. Books are a great source of inspiration. They never fail to offer a snippet of inspiration and a quote can often leave us changed for lifeeven if you've read it a hundred times.

6. Religious text and phrases. Religion has much to teach us. Keeping meaningful quotes in your mind can be very inspiring.

7. Meditation. It is more than just chanting mantras. Meditation opens up the mind to see life in a quiet clear way that is not available in the noisy momentum of daily activities. Many people have found great inspiration in daily moments of meditation.

8. Art. Art can evoke many emotions from fear to anger to love to peace. Visit a gallery and find the meaning in the brushstrokes or the eye of a camera lens and let it inspire you.

9. Textures. From the softness of animal fur to the feel of a plush carpet between your toes, textures can offer great comfort, sensation and a source of gratitude and inspiration.

10. People watching. Everyone has a capacity for amazing things if they embrace it. Show kindness to others in hopes that they will pass it on.

11. Seek gratitude. Create a list of the things in your life that you are grateful for each day.

12. Dance. It sounds silly, but we are allowed to be silly. Even if you can't dance according to society's standards, turn on the music (or not) and start to boogie.

13. Friends are forever. Enjoy time with others who "get you" and share your feelings with those you trust.

14. Quotes. Pick an appropriate quote everyday and let that inspire all that you do.

15. Hobbies. There is more to life than work. Having outside interests adds depth and meaning to your life.

Inspiration is all around you and making it a part of your every day is as easy as knowing where to look. Once you find it, make the most of it, appreciate it, and share it with others - be an inspiration.
