Types Of Video Surveillance Available Today

By Bella Holly

When it comes to video surveillance equipment, there is a huge variety of types to choose from. Surveillance systems aren't only for businesses-many people are implementing the protection to make their home, storage, and garage more secure. It is still a very popular measure used in businesses large and small to make sure the staff is working safely and properly, as well as for the off-chance of catching a robbery.

Video surveillance systems come in a number of different types. Video surveillance is one of the most common these days. You can have spy cameras, wall mounted cameras or hidden cameras, all of which can be reviewed and remote monitor, preferably a computer.

Although video surveillance is very widely used, wireless video surveillance is quickly becoming more popular. It does not require you to drill holes or string wires around, as the cameras are cordless and upload the footage over a wireless frequency. You can even have the footage uploaded to an encrypted website where you can view it online from anywhere in the world!

Wireless video surveillance is preferable for a number of reasons. One of the most obvious reason, is that you're not going to have to rewire a part of your house. You don't need to worry about tearing out floorboards to put wires under them and instead you can choose to locate the receiver and the camera wherever you want, as long as they are in radio range of each other.

The wonder of technology has enabled cameras of all sizes to be placed anywhere you like. For instance, a popular way to keep an eye on the babysitter is to put a camera inside a teddy bear or other less obvious place. You can even get hidden cameras placed inside a writing pen! Now that's James Bond-ish!

The Best Chop Sockie in the West!

By Al Case

The best kung fu movie I ever saw was filmed in the west, not the East. No Jet, or Jackie, or Bruce, or even Tony. No, it was filmed in the fifties, an American movie with American actors, high production values, and a plot that outdoes the best Eastern.

The actor who out kung fu-ed the East was Stewart Granger, and the name of the movie is Scaramouche. In the movie he plays a French commoner, who has to hide from a despicable nobleman, who becomes the toast of society as a clown, who is elected to the French parliament, who becomes one of the best fencers in the world, who...and it is all done smoothly, with finesse and panache.

Granger is swilling beer with his brother at a roadhouse in the opening of the movie. It turns out that Stewart's brother has been, oh horrors, passing out inflammatory political writings, and an evil count pushes him into a fight. Stewart's brother is killed in a bully of a duel, and the die is cast when Stewart picks up the sword.

Now, problem, Stewart's brother was the real fighter in the family, and he has been killed by the count, so how can weaker brother Stewart win? He can't, and he manages to escape from the roadhouse by the cowardly act of running away. What he takes with him, however, is the determination to have revenge.

How can you beat the best swordsman in France? Simple, you have his teacher teach you. To do this Stewart becomes a clown named Scaramouche in a traveling show.

Scaramouche travels through the country, having antics, and he manages to get fencing lessons from the teacher of the evil count. Driven by revenge, he practices diligently, and even manages to have a girlfriend along the way. When the duel comes, however he loses, and once again he must flee like a cowardly dog.

Distraught, beaten, feeling a bit down, he asks the teacher how can he ever beat the count now that he has failed. Interestingly, the teacher says it is easy, you simply must go to the teacher of the teacher. Scaramouche sets off for Paris, and the teacher of the teacher, and, along the way, he picks up another girlfriend, becomes a notorious killer of nobles, and is elected to the French parliament because, doggone it, it is the best way to make duels and kill nobles.

Now comes the exciting conclusion, and the whole French government starts turning over as plots unravel, and girlfriends unravel and the whole thing is a delight of delights. During the course of this movie we have methods of fencing revealed, thrilling duels to the death, and a plot that just keeps getting better. So for the best kung fu movie, head west, not East, to yesteryear and Scaramouche, and prepare to give up your rice and vegetables for Popcorn and soda, yowza!

Why Cardio Does Not Work The Same For Everybody?

By Ricardo Daryans

Cardio exercise is such a strange thing. In theory, it should work so perfectly well for all men and women, but as anyone who has tried it knows, the practicality of it just doesn't add up.

Most of people who work in a cardio program do seven, ten or more hours per week, and still have fat in their waist to burn for a long time. But there are other people who look great with the same or with even a smaller lapse of time. Some researchers in Great Britain went insight into this paradox, and studied 35 overweight men and women, who weren't previously exercising.

Subjects exercised 5 times per week for 12 weeks. That's a lot of exercise, but it helped the subjects lose an average of 8.2 pounds, which is great - I was positively surprised by the results. So cardio will work for some people, however, in my experience, it works best in young men, who need the help the least!

If we analyse the results we'll find some surprises. The best subject lost 32.3 pounds in 12 weeks, but the worst subject actually gained 3.74 pounds. That's an inmense variance in fat loss terms.

The scientists analized the results and classified the subjects in two groups. They called the first group the "compensators" and the second one the "Non-compensators". In the first group there were people who were hungrier after the cardio training. They were eating more after the exercise, therefore, they were consuming more calories and they weight loss was poor. They consumed an extra 268 calories per day.

You have to check your appetite and calorie intake to see if you are "compensating" for your efforts. If you want to eat more than nothing after your cardio training, then maybe you are in the compensators group and need an special cardio program designed to your needs. It may be better for you to use it's better for you to use a program of high-intensity resistance and interval training (i.e. Turbulence Training) for your weight loss efforts.

As Australian Professor Steve Boucher has shown in research, interval training increases hormones called catecholamines. And increased catecholamines can reduce appetite, among other fat-burning benefits.

I don't know you, but i know that if you are reading this, then you are not in the small group of people who lose 33 pounds after 12 weeks of cardio. And that's not bad at all, there's still hope for people for you or me who wants to look and feel ok.

What you have to do is check your appetite, and consider giving high-intensity exercise a go for your next workout program. Beat the curse of cardio with high-intensity Turbulence Training.

Omega 3 Cures Depression. That Can't Be True Can It?

By Peter Bertonich

Depression is a terribly debilitating illness, putting the sufferer on an endless merry go round of doctors and treatments and pharmaceuticals. But there is now some evidence that Omega 3 cures depression, or at least that there is a strong link between Omega 3 and depression relief.

It was around the 1990s that evidence started to emerge that showed a strong link between the intake of Omega 3 and depression levels in various societies. It was found that in societies with a lower intake of seafood depression levels were higher and vice versa. Seafood is the main food that contains Omega3 fats and so intake of seafood increases intake of these healthy fats.

Studies have now shown strong links between increasing Omega 3 intake and lowering rates of depression. Of course science moves slowly and it is always difficult to say when the link is fully proven, and what recommendations may be drawn from it. But the results of the studies are extremely encouraging.

But there is always more work to be done. Each study raises more questions, like what specific conditions are affected, what dose should be taken, how the intake of Omega 3 can affect current pharmaceuticals that sufferers are taking and so on.

But there is good news right now for depression sufferers. Those who have depression know that there can be strong and negative side effects from taking many of the traditional anti depressants commonly prescribed. But there are no observed negative side effects from increasing the intake of Omega 3 fats, and there are other positive health benefits.

In fact there is very strong evidence that taking a daily supplement of fish oil is good for a wide range of health problems. No lesser an authority than the American Heart Association recommends eating at least 2 meals of fish purely for the positive health effects of the fish oil on the heart. Or taking fish oil supplements.

There is now strong evidence of the benefits of increasing the intake of Omega 3 fish oils to a wide range of health areas, and there is really no evidence of negative side effects.

There is one issue though. It is now clear that the fish in our oceans are contaminated to some degree by various toxins like PCBs, heavy metals and mercury and recommendations are that some fish should not be eaten too often for this reason.

However there are excellent fish oil supplements available on the market that are molecularly distilled, reducing the level of any potential contaminants to zero. The better fish oil supplements have no detectable levels of the major contaminants, and allow us to take our Omega 3 fish oil daily.

So if you suffer from depression it would seem that there is now an extremely strong link between an improvement in the condition and your fish oil intake. And as Omega 3 is so good for you in so many other ways you've got nothing to lose from increasing your intake, other than, perhaps, your depression.

Visit my website to find out where to source the very best Omega 3 fish oil supplements.

Not All Calories Are Created Equal.

By Ivan Girevoy

Calories, do you really understand its meaning? Most people still do not know what a calorie is. When asked about its meaning, most people would link it to dieting. However there is far more to calories than just a word that is linked to weight loss. Lets see if we can explain it a little better.

Understanding Calories

Ok...here goes... "calorie is a unit of heat equal to the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one kilogram of water by one degree at one atmosphere pressure; used by nutritionists to characterize the energy-producing potential in food." This is how it is defined as per Wikipedia. What they do not tell you is that there are different types of calories.Nor do they mention how they are used by the body.

The main types of calories include: carbohydrates, fats and proteins. All of them burn when used in the body and then turn into heat energy, which is generally called calories.

Each type of calorie varies in terms of chemical and physical properties. They can be found in various kinds of food, whether alone, in combination or even all of them. Here are the essential things that you need to know about each calorie type.

Getting To Know The Feared Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are the most common type of calorie. It is found on foods that are rich on starch and sugar. Most of them are from plant-based foods like vegetables, fruits, and grains. Most legumes, such as lentils, beans, and peas, are also rich with carbs. However, dairy products would be the only foods that come from animals which have a lot of carb content.

Typically carbohydrates are classified into two subdivisions: simple and complex

Simple carbs are normally sugars, such as glucose and fructose, which come from fruits and a few vegetables. Another type would be lactose, which comes from milk. Last would be sucrose, which comes from cane sugar. (Rule of thumb is any thing that ends in "ose" is a type of sugar.)

Everyday use sugar is pure sucrose. Most of the simple carbs that you eat are sugars are mixed with processed foods such as cookies, sodas etc. These add-ons are the major reason why sugar accounts for 16% to 18% of total calories that are consumed by Americans according to most health surveys.

Complex types of carbs are actually chains or series of simple carbs, which primarily consist of starches along with fiber, which can be found in all foods that come from plants. However, plants store carbohydrates in the form of starch. Foods that have high complex carbs would include grains and products that come from it like bread and pasta. Also, potatoes, beans, corn, and other vegetables are also high in complex carbs.

Shadowed Proteins

Since carbohydrates seem to be the most popular type of calorie, proteins on the other hand seem to be the most over shadowed in comparison with the fame of fats and carbs. However, it is an important kind of calorie that you'll need to develop body muscle.

Proteins have about 4 kilocalories per gram. Majority of this kind of calorie can not be naturally produced by the human body and must originate from dietary sources. The main sources of protein include: eggs, nuts, meats, legumes, grains, dairy products. (And yes some of these are also those nasty carb carriers.)

Recent studies suggest, men between ages 19 to 70 should consume 56g of protein everyday in order to avoid deficiency. On the other hand, women within the same age range should get at least 46g/day. Those people, such as certain athletes consume more protein then average in order to increase muscle mass.

Fats

Fats, would probably be the most unwanted kind of calorie by many. However, it still plays an important role in the normal function of the body. The body cannot absorb Vitamins A, E, D and K if not for it. They play an important role in the maintenance of healthy hair and skin. Protection is another function, since they protect various organs from shock.

Animals and plants both contain types of fats. Types of animal fats would include lard, butter and fish oil, while plant fats would include soy beans, peanuts, sunflower seeds, olives, coconuts, sesames, and vegetable oils.

Light Up Your Home with Security Lighting

By Lorraine Craymer

Everyone wants to feel safe in their home and there are many different things that you can do in order to feel that way. Add locks, fences, gates and alarms to improve your level of security, but at night, wouldn't you like to know what's going on out there? Looking out into a yard with no lights makes it very difficult to know whether you're legitimately nervous or just imagining you hear something.

You don't need to be concerned about what's outside as long as you can see it and that's the advantage that security lighting on your property will provide. Not only will lighting in and of itself discourage many different intruders, you'll be able to spot trouble. And for the nights that you're on the outside trying to get back in, carefully configured security lighting can ease your way from the car right up to and into your front door.

The improvements that have been made in home security lighting have taken this product group and opened it up for just about anyone to use. Years ago the only lighting available aside from the bulbs above your front and back door were the streetlights. They were great for the neighborhood and a wonderful way to let the kids know it was time to come home, but as far as providing any useful secure illumination for your personal property - well forget it.

Your basic back yard floodlights were (and still are) a big improvement over nothing. With the flip of a switch you could go from total darkness to the the Griswalds Christmas display, but it did require that flip of the switch. Unless you left them on while you were out, you still came home to a darkened yard and their lack of flexibility did little - in fact did nothing- to really hinder anyone with criminal intent.

But the advancements that homeowners now have to work with have made a world of difference in home security lighting. Motion detectors not only mean that no one will be able to lurk around your home at night, they also mean that when you come home late the lights will be on when and where you need them most. Solar security lights have allowed for so much more energy efficiency and with the wireless lights and solar panels you can position lights anywhere that you want them to be without regard to where the electricity is already available.

What can these motion sensitive home security lights do for you? Well, the obvious is that they help you get into your home at night. Youll be able to see everything in your driveway and on your porch. The other great advantage that these lights give you is that it makes it impossible for thieves to know if youre home or not. Since the lights will come on whenever someone moves in front of them, theres no way to tell if someone is watching from the house. Its also possible that your neighbors will see the light come on and notice any suspicious activity, especially if they know youre not at home.

There are some downsides of course. On a really windy night you're probably going to get a lot of false alarms as swaying branches trigger the sensors and it can be very disconcerting to have the security lights going on when you're trying to get to sleep - or when you're alone. But on balance, that's a whole lot better than having someone creeping around your house at night, peering into your windows and spying on you and your possessions. So home security lighting provides you with quite a few very real advantages.

Residential Safes: How To Protect Your Valuables In Your House

By Xavier Toolhausens

Having valuables requires the guarding and security of the best quality. Many people come to believe that their belongings are safe and that someone cannot get into their home and they can do without a safe.

Most home alarms can be disabled and the house has many ways of entry: windows, a sliding glass door, and shockingly, even the roof. What items you own will determine what level of security you have. Safes make it one more step in stealing loot. This might just be the additional time necessary for the thief to be caught. And, most thieves will attempt to bust the safe open for a couple minutes; there are many safes that are iron and impossible to get into. Because of this, some added security is available.

A multitude of safes are sold in many volume abilities, materials, and ways of locking them. The method for entry is key in what is stored in the safe. Gun owners, for instance, sometimes desire quick safe access. Safes come with the following methods for entry: Biometric (biological data checking for access) entry, key entry, or as a combination handle. Safes are typically made of steel and can withstand almost any impact before breaking. Also, many safes are fire-proof. Therefore, even if the entire structure burns to ash, your belongings will be safe and secure. In addition, there are kinds of safes that are waterproof. These boxes can remain under the water without breaking down or letting in any sea water.

To hide the safe, many hide their safes well. Top end brands can be stuffed inside the wall to save room and can be hidden perfectly. These units can then be faced by a dummy electric breaker, pictures, or other wall decoration. Manufacturers also build kinds that can be lowered into the floor and will remain seen by everyone; this type is called a floor, or drop safe.

Safes are purchased by law enforcement, people who possess firearms, home owners, and shops. There are several very important documents that everyone who is anyone has. Safes lock up this documentation and other objects, such as:

Guns Silver Family Memorabilia Photos Currency Spare Car Keys Passports

Basically, anything that requires constant hiding and protection from burglars, water damage, or fire, you will want to keep locked in a safe. Many safes today, for instance biometric safes, give fast and fast access to the valuables. Furthermore, since these safes protect from fire and water, you can kill two birds with one stone - theft and damage from water and fire.

These units are important to businesses that need to hold cash. Robberies and organized theft happens often to mom and pop shops, lounges, and other businesses. These small establishments are continually targeted for swift theft operations. The safe is key to holding and keeping things safe. Families and companies should own a safe of some kind to keep their information and valuables safe - it's the only way!

Alarm Systems " Protect Your Assets

By Pete Schwartz

Alarm systems are your first defense against disaster whether man-made or natural. You must protect your assets from fire and thievery and a good alarm system is the way to do it. There are many types of systems available and certainly there is one out there to fit your specific needs whether it is a burglar or fire alarm system. There are stand-alone systems and monitoring systems and what kind you get depends on your particular needs. The one thing to remember is to get the best alarm you possibly can on your budget. Never scrimp when it comes to protecting your assets.

Stand alone alarm systems are generally okay, but you have to bear in mind that a lot of the time people just ignore a sounding alarm mainly because they think that it is just a false alarm. Those are the risks you take when dealing with a stand-alone system. In the case of a break in, a lot of criminals know how to get easily get around such alarms no matter how sophisticated the system may be. Ultimately, they can get in and out before the authorities are notified.

With stand-alone fire alarm systems, the fire department could be delayed depending on how long it takes someone to call them in. That can be a situation where a delay can result in total destruction of your home or business. Even though the alarm goes off, it is hard to determine when someone will actually call the fire department.

The best alarm systems are those that are connected to a monitoring company as this will help to limit the disaster. When an alarm is triggered, the monitoring company is notified immediately and can contact the proper authorities saving precious time. With a burglar alarm you have the assurance that the thief will most likely be caught and with fire alarms, the damage will be smaller.

No matter which alarm systems you go for you must make every effort to protect your hard earned assets from needlessly disappearing. With the technology available today, there is no reason not to do your best to protect yourself and your valuables. Alarm systems are relatively inexpensive when compared to the loss of a house or business. Protect yourself from thieves and fire by installing the proper alarm system for your home today.

Alarm Monitoring For Your Home and Business

By Pete Schwartz

In order to protect your home or business you need to have a good alarm monitoring system. Just an alarm alone is not enough. Too often people mistake an alarm going off as a false alarm, which oftentimes it is. But, when the real deal is taking place you want a response and the only way you can guarantee a response is with a company monitoring your alarm status.

Whether you have an alarm monitoring system for thievery, fire or both, having it in conjunction with a 24-hour monitoring system is the smart way to protect your property.

Alarm monitoring is absolutely the best way to protect your assets at home or at your business. A lot of time clever thieves will know how to bypass or tamper with an alarm system. But, when you have a company monitoring your system, even tampering will set off a red flag and someone will be dispatched to investigate. With a standalone alarm, thieves may be able to penetrate your home or business and steal with wild abandon, not to mention what could happen if you are home when they break in. Thieves are oftentimes desperate characters and you must be protected at all times.

A fire alarm monitoring system can significantly increase the chances of the fire department getting out to your property in time. As soon as the alarm sounds, the monitoring company will consult the fire department and any other appropriate authorities to your property. This won't happen with a stand-alone fire alarm which may go unnoticed and the space of time between the alarm going off and the authorities being called in could prove costly and fatal.

Alarm monitoring is also a great idea especially if you have a senior citizen living alone. If they have a personal alarm on them and it goes off, the monitoring company can quickly dispatch an ambulance and alert the appropriate family members or friends of the problem. This alarm monitoring system saves lives every day and is vital in safeguarding the lives of the older loved ones. Crucial minutes can be saved when a monitoring company is carefully watching over those who may have trouble getting around on their own. No matter what your situation is, you can find having an alarm monitoring system to ensure your peace of mind.

The Three Types of Reaction time

By Al Case

One of the biggest lies in the martial arts is reaction time. Reaction time traps everybody, but in the martial arts, you can get rid of it. Actually, with the data in this article, you will find it easy to get rid of reaction time.

Reaction time is the gap of time between when something happens and when you respond to it. When that car in front of you, for instance, shows brake lights, it takes three eights of a second for your foot to hit the brake pedal. During this three eights of a second distance can close, bumpers can touch, and collisions can occur, unless, of course, you have reduced, or even eliminated your reaction time.

There are actually three types of reaction time. These three types of reaction time are simple to define and easy to understand. The three types of reaction time are past, present and future.

The first type of reaction time, the reaction time that happens in the past, is the kind that gets us killed. Simply, you are too close to the car in front of you, you don't have three eights of a second between potential impact. This is the reaction time wherein you input what is happening, shoot the data through the nervous system, get response from mind, shoot the solution action back through the nerves, and, oops, too late.

Then there is the reaction time, easily seen in sports, which is in the now. The fielder takes off at the crack of the bat, but how did he know where to go and how fast and all that? He was far enough away from the action to input the data and do what he had to do without reaction time.

Mushin no shin, which is Japanese for mind of no mind, is the third type of reaction time, and it is understood by translating the phrase into time of no time. In this reaction time two martial artists face each other, and one strikes, and the other blocks, simultaneously. This stage of reaction time is not reaction time, but rather making decisions as the action happens, in the moment and not after, and not even requiring distance for the information to input.

To gain the third type of reaction time one must distance oneself from the mechanisms of the body and mind, and act as a human being. This means that one must assume the viewpoint of distance through a mental adjustment, even if there is no distance. This is easily done if one just assumes a posture and looks at the body.

You could also practice moving slowly while looking at your partner. Don't try to speed up reaction time by going faster, rather, slow down the game, look at what is happening, and search for the tell tale factors that occur just before action occurs. These two methods will enable one to gain intuition in the face of disaster, live an entirely different life, and attain enlightenment.

How to Fight in the Dark

By Al Case

You enter your house, and the lights don't click on. You head for the garage and the circuit box, and you find out why the lights don't go on. A mugger flies through the darkness at you, swinging a club and screaming, you are down and out.

You think a fight is a stand up affair, on a good surface with good lighting so you can see everything? You think the mugger is going to turn on the lights and tell you to take your best karate stance because he intends to beat you up? You've been watching too many many bad movies, my friend.

The fight will happen on the worst possible surface with the worst lighting at the worst time. The fight will happen on the fresh watered lawn in your backyard under the stars. That mugger is going to pick terrain that gives him the best advantage, and the fight is going to happen when you least expect it

It is actually easy to fight in the dark, you just have to get used to moving in the dark. One of the easiest exercises to prepare you, no special equipment needed, is to just move around your house late at night. Turn the lights out and remember where the furniture is, and move around.

Do your forms, shadow box, pretend there is somebody there, and soon you will have an intuitive feel for moving around in the darkness. This matter of developing intuition is what it is all about. You must know where everything is without having to rely on your eyes.

Practice moving around your backyard like a cat, climbing trees, getting used to the dark, actually building up to rolls and gymnastics. You can also set up an obstacle course, climbing over the house, ladders up to short jumps down, learning how to navigate no matter how dark it gets. You can eventually have somebody else set up the obstacles, and the game will notch up and turn delightfully unpredictable.

Finally, you must get friends to play with. Have the fellows you train with doing this with you, and start having wars. Two teams, both dressed in black, playing in the dark, remember to wear mouthpieces and practice relaxing when you fall.

It doesn't have to be the end of the world if a fight happens in the dark. You can become more aware, train yourself, and all while having fun. Just think, having fun, playing games, and being the ninja...that poor mugger doesn't know what trouble he is about to get into!

Using A Self Storage Facility Can Be A Prudent Decision Financially

By Anthony Harris

When your house needs restoring or when you are moving out, you can use self storage to store your belongings. You can also use self storage when you go overseas for a long trip and want your valuables stored safely and securely. Selling your items off before the trip and buying new ones after returning would be a needless waste of money.

Furthermore, there are things like garden furniture that are seasonal and for most part of the year they just occupy a lot of space without fulfilling any purpose at all. You have two choices. You can either lease these items for the particular period you want to use them or take advantage of a self storage unit to purchase and keep them for future use. The second choice is much more cost-effective.

For those who are looking to sell their property, it is advisable to spruce it up so that it looks attractive to potential buyers. Removing some of the big items and keeping them in self storage will facilitate restoration, which will help fetch a higher price for the property.

If you are shifting to a new house too, then self storage is a good choice as all the hassle of packing, storing and taking out your items will be borne by the self storage service. The self storage alternative is far more inexpensive than the one where you sell old items of your house before moving out and buy new items after settling in the new place.

Size of the items does not matter when it comes to self storage and this comes as one of its most important benefits. They have units of all sizes available, and from small mementos to huge wooden furniture, everything can be kept. With modern self storage, there are no issues with security either as they have latest alarms and cameras to keep an eye on the valuables of their clients.

The Hard Way to Find The True Art!

By Al Case

So you want The True Martial Art, but you're not willing to train for decades to get there. There is a way, simple, everybody knows about it, nobody does it. I am talking about that wonderful exercise called Horse Meditation.

The most you'll see of Horse Meditation is a minute of punishment in today's martial arts schools. The true value of the exercise is used as punishment, or just not done. How long would little Jane's mommy pay for her training, after all, if she came home and whined that the instructor was hurting her?

To do Horse Meditation the proper way, the way that brings enlightenment, one must be willing to undergo pain and transition. We all know that pain is a warning system, it tells a person he is in danger, get out of there. But pain understood, and I am not simply selling masochism here, can be truly enlightening.

Squat until your thighs are almost parallel with the ground, bend the knees and spread the legs and get low. Hold an arm to the side with the hand in a chicken beak, or whip, and raise the other arm in a high block. Concentrate on breathing deeply to your center and turn your head and focus your gaze on the fingers of your chicken beak.

Before a minute has passed your legs will be trembling, your face will be white, and you will be sure sure that you are going to die and not go to heaven. The pain in your legs will become excruciating, and you will know, sure as OJ loved his wife, that your legs are going to be permanently disfigured. Finally, you whine, gasp, break stance, and look at the clock, 120 seconds.

What you did wrong was listen to the pain. Pain is a warning device, yes, but it can be overridden easily by a firm and determined will. If you can override the pain you will find The True Art.

Ask yourself the question, are you really going to die? The answer is no. Thus, you must overcome the warning pain building in your mind and actually prove that it is you in charge of your body, and not the other way around.

So you take a stance and stand there, and you say no when the pain builds. It really is that simple, you change your mind, and you stay there, you say no, and within five minutes you will find that the pain totally and absolutely disappears. And then you're going to find The True Art...and I tell you, it is not what is taught in today's entertainment, celluloid based, fantasy inducing dojos, it is something that you never dreamt of and which will change you for all of your days.

This is the Best Chop Sockie ever filmed!

By Al Case

The best kung fu movie I ever saw, interestingly enough, was not filmed in the East. No Bruce or Jackie or Jet, or even Tony. No, it was an American movie filmed in the fifties, with high production values, American actors, and a plot that put the Eastern cinema to shame.

The name of the movie is Scaramouche, and the actor who out kung fu-ed the East was Stewart Granger. In the movie he plays a French commoner, who has to hide from a despicable nobleman, who becomes the toast of society as a clown, who becomes one of the best fencers in the world, who is elected to the French parliament, who...and it is all done smoothly, with finesse and panache.

In the opening of the movie Granger is sitting at a roadhouse swilling beer with his brother. In walks the evil count, and it turns out that Stewart's brother has been, oh horrors, passing out inflammatory political writings. In a bully of a duel, Stewart's brother is killed, Stewart picks up the sword, and the die is cast.

Now, problem, Stewart's brother, who has been killed by the count was the real fighter in the family, so how can weaker brother Stewart win? He answer is that he can't, and he manages to escape the duel and death by the cowardly act of running away. In escaping, however, he takes with him the determination to have revenge.

How do you get better than the best swordsman? Why, you go to his teacher, and have him teach you how to be better. Stewart then becomes a clown in a traveling show, and his name is...Scaramouche.

Scaramouche travels through the country, avoiding the evil count, and he manages to get fencing lessons from the teacher of that bad person. Driven by revenge, avoiding the clutches of a girlfriend, he practices diligently. When the final showdown comes, however, he is outdone and must once again flee like a cowardly dog.

Feeling a bit down, beaten, distraught, he asks his teacher how can he ever manage to defeat the evil count. The teacher tells him he must go to the teacher of the teacher. Scaramouche sets off to find the teacher of the teacher, and Paris, and, along the way he becomes a notorious killer of nobles, picks up another girlfriend, and is elected to the French parliament because, when you get right down to it, it is the best way to make duels and kill nobles.

Now comes the exciting conclusion, and plots unravel, and girlfriends unravel, and the whole French government starts turning over, and it is a delight of delights. Along the way we have methods of fencing revealed, thrilling duels to the death, and a plot that kicks up notch after notch. So for the best kung fu movie, head west, not East, to the fifties and a delightful scoundrel named Scaramouche, and give up your rice and vegetables for Popcorn and soda, yowza!

Cancelling Out The Health Benefits Of Fish Oil.

By Peter Bertonich

I have talked previously about the health benefits of fish oil supplements before, to a range of health conditions, but in particular to the heart. However a study has now posed a warning.

The study has suggested that a high fat diet, and in particular a diet high in saturated fat foods, can cancel many of the heart benefits of omega fish oil.

There are plenty of well known heart benefits of fish oil supplements. These heart benefits include a reduction in cardiovascular disease and this includes both fatal and non fatal heart attacks as well as a reduction in the risk of strokes.

But although taking daily omega 3 fish oil supplements may well offer these health benefits you may not be getting all these benefits if you eat a high fat diet. In particular a diet high in saturated fat.

A new study has now come out. It studied rats with heart failure and looked at the correlation between a diet high in saturated fat and the benefits of fish oil supplementation.

The study was conducted by scientists from a range of institutions led by William C. Stanley, Ph.D., from the University of Maryland-Baltimore. It concluded that even though the benefits of fish oil for the heart are known, these benefits can be canceled out when a high saturated fat diet results in the fat levels in the heart blocking out the heart benefits of the fish oil taken.

It was thought that the high fat levels in the heart blocked the capacity of the heart cells to absorb the helpful polyunsaturated Omega 3 fats from the fish oil.

The scientists studied rats that had heart failure, so it's difficult to know if that result can be extrapolated to humans who don't have heart failure and who take Omega 3 supplements.

But there's also no doubt that a diet high in saturated fats isn't good for the health and so even if you don't have heart disease and you already take Omega 3 supplements there are good reasons why you ought to be eating diet low in saturated fats.

That way you get the health benefits of omega fish oil along with the health benefits of a good diet. What could be better? Theres no doubt any more about the benefits of taking fish oil. But fish oil isnt the only thing that offers health benefits.

A diet high in fruit and vegetables and low in saturated fats is also well known to be extremely healthy, and there is also ample evidence that a lifestyle high in exercise is also one of the best things you can do for your health.

If you're not taking the worlds best Omega 3 supplements you need to visit my website to find out where to get them.

Mediating Conflict with LMS Training for Managers and Staff

By Brian Alums

Staff members working in all kinds of organizations and companies benefit largely from LMS training in conflict management.

Conflict in the workplace can prompt a series of other problems, but not limited to increased absenteeism, the creation of factions, resignations, low productivity and low creativity. For that reason, every penny is well spent towards effective LMS training for conflict management.

After all, conflict management training is meant to protect a company's most valuable asset: content and productive employees. A strong training course can provide staff members and supervisors with the tools required to deal with workplace conflicts as they develop. LMS courses should focus on the different strategies and tools employees and managers can use to communicate and arrive at positive solutions to workplace conflict.

An LMS conflict management course should focus first on self-awareness. With practice, students learn how to be assertive without being aggressive or passive aggressive. LMS training can help staff vastly improve communication skills and gain insight into the various kinds of workplace conflict, and the different styles of defusing it.

In the end, conflicts are costly and a waste of precious time. They often require a good leader to help parties reach a positive solution. But despite an attentive manager, a positive team spirit, and the assignment of clear goals and tasks, conflict is impossible to avoid altogether. Conflict, after all, is only a healthy and innate part of life. It also enables team members to learn how to work together better in the future.

Supervisors should recognize conflict as such and remember that conflict isn't a bad thing; it helps to prevent situations in which staff withhold frustration, resentment or other negative feelings, and ultimately allow them to manifest in other ways. Conflict allows employees to move on from old problems by getting everything out in the open.

In fact, this is one of the strongest benefits of LMS training in conflict management. Students learn to adopt a more positive attitude towards conflict itself, as it ceases to be an nerve-wrecking or ugly event that everyone simply wants to brush aside or ignore. Indeed, with some training, conflict can become something positive, and natural: simply a process to be worked through.

Nanny Cams: Offering Children Safety and Parents Peace of Mind

By Bella Holly

If you have seen the movie The Nanny Diaries, you will have seen the use of digital nanny cams in action. A nanny cam is actually a home video surveillance system that can be used for any type of home security.

The movie gives an example of the most popular type of nanny cam, which is the teddy bear nanny cam. It's a type of hidden camera in which a small wireless camera is placed inside a teddy bear, but this type of hidden surveillance is not limited to stuffed animals. With this hidden camera, you will be able to collect true footage of the treatment of your child.

Many of us feel that the security of our child is the number one concern, and while we wish we could protect them all of the time, we do unfortunately have appointments, work, and other engagements which keep us from our children. It is during these times in which we feel justified in using the only weapon in our arsenal-surveillance. That raises another important question: Do hidden cameras infringe in the babysitter's right to privacy?

This can be tricky. Many people feel that they can safeguard their home any way they feel necessary, however this is not always lawful in some cases. The best way to make sure that you remain within the law is to tell your babysitter beforehand that the house is under surveillance and that they should be aware that they are being filmed at all times. Many feel this defeats the point of surveillance-but you'd be surprised. You don't have to actually tell the babysitter where you've fitted the cameras.

Letting your nanny know in advance that she will be filmed is the best way to prevent any inappropriate behavior on her part. In all honesty, it isn't fair to film someone in a private setting without their knowledge and consent. If your sitter refuses to be recorded, then, unfortunately, you have to make the choice of turning the cameras off and preserving the babysitter's privacy (and putting your child in potential danger), or choosing another babysitter who will consent to the surveillance.

If you're wondering how you can purchase your own nanny cam(s), you can usually find cameras at any retailer who sells home surveillance. You can also easily find cheap nanny cams online, as online retailers usually offer great discounts.

Pool Safety For Kids

By Marion Rose Jones

Owning a swimming pool on your property is a fantastic way to have fun for yourself and your entire family. However, despite that, it can also be very dangerous if you have children about. If you have the patience, you should wait until your children are at least five years old or more until you put a swimming pool on your property. On the other hand, if you already have a swimming pool, there are ways that you can safe-guard your children.

One thing you should always keep in mind is to never, ever, permit your children to be alone near your pool. Children tend to be attracted to water and all it takes is a slip for them to fall into the swimming pool. If you and your children are at your pool side and you need to leave the area even for a second, you must always take your children with you.

To be on the safe side, you must always make sure that you have plenty of safety equipment around your pool at all times. Safety gear is essential to have on the poolside, as they could save the life of a child or in fact, anyone else who can't swim.

You ought to buy a shepherd's hook as well, as you can employ it to pull someone out of the pool. Having a telephone at your poolside is also a wise investment, since you can easily ring for help in the event of an emergency.

If you don't already have a fence around your pool you should think about making one right away. A fence is a useful way to keep children away from your swimming pool. If you have a protective fence up, you won't have to worry about small children falling into it, while you are away from the pool. When you put your fence up, you ought to always ensure that it's at least six feet high with a locking gate. In this way, no one can get into the pool without a key, which you have to keep on you at all times.

You could learn artificial respiration as well. Even though you hopefully will not ever have to use it. It is always good to know artificial respiration in the event of someone falling in your pool that is unable to swim. Whenever you have children you know can't swim at your pool, you should always stay near them, so you can react instantly if they fall in. A minute can be all it takes to save someone's life.

Always bear in mind that swimming is fun, although you have to always think in terms of safety first. Once you have finished using your pool for the day, ensure that you secure the poolside well - and padlock the gate tight so no one can get in too.

Worried About Leaving Your Child With A Babysitter?

By Bella Holly

Unfortunately, we live in a day and age in which we have to be extremely cautious about who we leave our kids with.

It isn't always obvious during the initial "babysitter interview" or through reference research to tell whether or not the candidate is 100% trustworthy, and such is the reason why nanny cams were created. You may have seen such security devices on tv or on the internet, and boy can they be useful! By setting up hidden cameras throughout your house, not only can you record your child's care session, but also wirelessly up-link it to a website which you can view from your phone or laptop.

At some point or another, we have to trust our children with someone. All of your relatives and friends have plans and are unable to babysit, but you have to be somewhere and are unable to take your kid along. This is the perfect circumstance in which you would have no other choice but find a last-minute babysitter. Instead of canceling your plans, simply get a teddy bear nanny cam to place in the room you expect your child to be in the most. The teddy bear nanny cam looks like any ordinary teddy bear, only it contains a hidden camera inside. Your nanny would never suspect it!

You could always have one of these cams sitting in each room of the house, so that you can see what goes on in another room. These cams are generally small 3.6mm and are put inside of a stuffed animal or other un-obvious decoration. They have the capabilities of recording everything that goes on in the room. There are also the spy cameras that can tell when something is going on in front of them. You could also find it available in not only black and white, but color as well. Even if you have to work with a budget, there are numerous sites selling cheap nanny cams to get you started.

In our opinion, the teddy bear nanny cam seems to be the most effective, however you might wish to go a step further and simply purchase regular security cameras around the house. Tell your nanny flat-out that the cameras are on all the time and that you regularly check the recordings. This type of camera system is great for doubling as a general security system for burglaries, fires, etc.
