Partner's snoring

Millions of people today snore. Snoring is producing unpleasant sounds during sleeping. The root cause of snoring is vibration of tissues in the respiratory system, which causes obstruction in the air movement while sleeping.

When your partner snores it can be a headache. Not only is your partner not getting a good night's sleep, he or she is making you uncomfortable also. Two people with sleep problems in one relationship is a recipe for trouble. Some of the common causes of snoring include the following:

People of all ages and both sexes can have problems snoring, but it is more common in men and as people get older. Older people are more likely to suffer from snoring as advancing age contributes to snoring. Snoring grows with the advancing age.Certain physical conditions make snoring more likely. Snoring can be caused by the nasal congestion, or by the blockage of airway from a cold. The congestion leading to the vibration of the soft tissue which causes snoring. Asthma and other breathing problems such as apnea are also a factor. Snoring can also be caused by enlarging of the tonsils and adenoids, smaller jaw and a long tongue which makes it difficult to breathe.

Some reasons that people snore are difficult to do anything about. Perhaps they have enlarged tissues in their mouths or a misshapen jaw. But other factors very according to the individual, and some of them are factors of the lifestyle and environment.

Any type of blockage of airway can cause snoring. Examples include congestion due to allergies or cold, which lead to the vibration of the soft tissue which causes snoring. Snoring exists in all ages and both sexes, but males are more prone to snoring, their necks are much larger than those of women. This means they have more tissues in the neck that can obstruct the airflow which leads to snoring.

Following are some of the ways by which you can help your partner stop snoring:

There are many ways to cure your snoring. Some of the effective ways to cure your snoring problem include: * Losing weight. This will help you cure snoring by reducing the fatty tissue which is present in your airways. * Steam inhalation. This clears your nasal congestion which helps you to cure snoring. Nasal congestion obstructs the airflow, leading to vibration creating noisy breathing. Steam inhalation with essential oils can also cure snoring. *Avoiding alcohol before sleeping. Alcohol is a muscle relaxant which causes the throat muscles to relax while seeping. * Nasal strips can cure snoring by keeping open your nostrils which help you to breathe more easily. You should use a nasal strip for 6-7 nights for better results. Changing your sleeping posture can also help you cure snoring problems. You should make it a habit on sleeping on your side as sleeping on your back can cause you snoring problems. Snoring sprays which are commonly know as throat sprays coats the soft tissue of your throat. It is recommended to not to eat or drink for 30 minutes before and after using the throat spray. * Changing sleep position. Developing a habit of sleeping on your side can help your partner end snoring.
