Advice On How To Communicate Properly

By Dawn Chasse

People usually do not continue their communication with their partners when they have any issue with one another. They do not feel associated with one other. If this situation continues for little longer, isolation and disconnection will result and the relationship will end at some point.

On the contrary, when couples keep connected with one another and talk well, they feel associated with one another and the relationship between then become stronger as time goes on.

People need to be willing to analyze their previous or current talking style. This is necessary for those who believe their way of communication is not very good and is disturbing their relationship. This analysis will let them learn new communication patterns and unlearn the ones that are not suitable.

There are two things that one does while talking. He speaks words as well as shows the meaning of the words through the non verbal communication. If there is some difference between the two components, the listener naturally looks at the message conveyed by the body and not the words.

For example when you tell somebody that you like his/her coat but you have sarcastic smile on your face, your smile will be believed more than what you said.

With the passage of time, the couples learn the habit of communicating in a particular way which remains with them for long. This patter sets their argument making style.

The style of communication can be changed if the couple tries so. The point to remember is that communication is a learned skill and so enhancement or change in this skill is possible if conscious efforts are made.

This will allow the couple to get rid of the ineffective communication style. Once so, a good strong relationship will be possible as the couples will be able to clearly convey their meaning to one another and the skills of listening and talking will be effective.
