Do You Suffer from a Lack of Self Confidence or Poor Self Esteem?

By David Ferrers

For a lot of years I suffered with a lack of self confidence. Feelings of "not being worthy", "not belonging" and a poor self image held me back in my career and in my relationships.

These feelings were very hard to manage because I hadn't got any idea that I was suffering from any specific disability. It simply never occurred to me that there was anything particular wrong. I was simply living the way in Which I had got comfortable being. I never imagined I had not always suffered from a lack of self-esteem. All I knew was that in specific situations I felt uncomfortable and not fully able to cope.

It took me years to discover what the issue was. But when I did find out I managed to overcome my problems with self confidence. Now I train others in the systems that I used to become a confident person. I teach in the USA, the United Kingdom, the Gulf and now I'll be running Self Confidence Training in India this summer.

The most important lesson from my private experience of battling with self-confidence issues is that no-one has to suffer the pain of self-confidence issues. There are ways that you can become confident. I'm the living proof that any person can become confident. I spend a great deal of my life trying to find better methods to train others to overcome issues of low self esteem and poor self image.

In my experience NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) is among the most proficient sets of tools for enabling folk to become even more confident. I make it a point to use plenty of NLP in my 2-day workshops and it usually has a highly beneficial effect on the delegates being trained.

A primary reason why it took me so long to triumph over my confidence issues was because I simply was not prepared to pay the price for the cure. My studies of ways to cure myself were sporadic. I didn't read enough and I did not attend the right workshops. You will not cure yourself of confidence issues, you must have help - that was the largest lesson that I learned. When I got help the cure came swiftly.

You are right what you have said. Hundreds and thousands of people suffer from this situation. I have grown up kids and one of them lacked self confidence and I could see his full potential was dormant. I did research and and put him through a course he has improved and I can see his self belief. I would like the visitors to your blog to see this http://bilafond.selfconfidenceguides.com/
