Things that Bring Happiness

By John James

There are some little things that we can do to help in making us happy. Happiness in most cases is a state of mind that our bodies bolster. When we are happy our bodies produce bio-chemicals to help us maintain our cheerful mood. Regardless of where we live in the world there are basic things we all recognise as components of a happy life. The way we promote our happiness is subjective to what we personally feel happy about.

Beside our personality factors; studies have shown the aspects that we can control in our lives to be happy play about 10 to 15 percent of the happiness equation. Things that go into this percentage category include; economics, education and looks etc. These things we do have some kind of control over even though it is just marginal. And when we reinforce these things positively in ourselves they increase our sense of being happy.

In terms of economics, it is clear that those with money generally are happier than those that are poor. When you have money you can pay for things to make you happy as well as activities that make you happy. People with money do not have to worry about a roof over their heads, food in their stomachs and their families, nor stuff like warm clothes in winter.

Poverty isn't good. It's not a happy state to be in especially in a country where everything is based on a dollar worth. With that having been said, there are those with money but they aren't happy. Some people need drugs and drink to stimulate a happy mood, which of course is very wrong. Money still doesn't buy real love or true friends. Worldwide the things folks find as a dependable source of happiness are love and doing activities like listening to their favorite music. These things have nothing to do with finances. It's also discovered that doing "happy" activities like watching a comedy or an amusing activity makes one happy for that time. What is the key to happiness?

Funny shows and activities; these kinds of things don't create a lasting happiness. There are things that someone can do that will enable him to develop a good social skills, marrying or living together with their significant other and having a life that's meaningful and purposeful to them. When you have good social skills you can make and keep friends.

When we have a life that we feel is suggestive and has a purpose to us it makes us feel happy and satisfied. When we have a meaningful life we feel good about ourselves and that makes us feel that folks feel better about what we are doing also. Finally regardless of our circumstances if we can have a positivity to draw from to keep us going daily we can create even a little happiness which can help go a long way.
