The Job Description Of A Media Buyer New Orleans

By Tanisha Berg

One of the most important aspects of advertising is the media because this is the place that the ads would show up. Of course the clients would be the ones who would provide the material and the advertisers would create the ads but the media providers will be the ones to provide the space where the ads would be. The person who will be the bridge between the clients and the providers would be none other than the media buyer new orleans.

Now the media buyers or buyers are more than just people who would look for good ad space and buy them at a low price from the providers. They are actually implementers of the advertising campaign and would work very closely with the planners in order to implement the plan. Now the planners are the ones who would do the brain work while the buyers would do most of the leg work.

The very first thing that the buyers would be doing would be to analyze the product of the client. Now what they are going to do is that they are going to think of the target market of the product that they are trying to promote. They will use demographics to know what type of people they must target their ads to.

Of course once they have done this, then they have to know which advertising channel is the best in order to get these people. Now the different kinds of channels would be TV, radio ads, and of course the print ads. After making the choice of which to use, the buyers would then give a recommendation to the clients.

If the client likes the recommendation, then the planners and the buyers will now work together in creating a proposal. Now the proposal would include an overview, a background, and a process of implementation that they will follow. Of course included here would also be a timetable which will indicate what ad will be shown at which time and of course how much it would cost.

Once the client already approves of the proposal, then they would now be able to go to the media providers. From there, they will submit the plan to the providers and then try to negotiate for the best prices. Now it is here where the buyer has to have really good negotiation skills because ad space is expensive and one will need all the discounts that he can get.

So when that is done already, he will now monitor the schedule of each ad and how it is running. He will also be constantly contacting the client to know if the ad campaign is effective. If it does not seem to work, then the buyer may suggest a brand new approach and try out a new strategy.

So as one can see, the job of a buyer is not just trying to find advertising channels and getting them. They are actually the ones who will be implementing the advertising plan and deciding how the ads will show up in the media. If they do everything well, then the campaign will definitely work out.
