The Basics Of The Six Sigma Houston Method

Now manufacturing companies would often use a special type of process in order to ensure quality outputs. Now the six sigma Houston method is actually one of the processes that all manufacturing companies would use. If one is not very familiar with this process, here is a short overview of what it is like and how some of the concepts can be used to solve problems.

So basically, the core concept of this strategy would actually lie in the concept known as DMAIC. Now for those who are unfamiliar with the DMAIC, basically it is a process that can help solve the problems that a company is facing. DMAIC stands for defining a problem, measuring the existing process, analyzing the problem, improving the process, and controlling the process.

Now the first thing that one should look at would be the defining of the issue at hand. Now one would probably be able to spot that a process in his company is not very efficient but the question is what is making the process inefficient. He should find out what the problem is and what issue is to be fixed with this process.

Now once the problem has already defined, then the next thing to do is to check how the existing process actually works. Now before coming up with a possible reason as to why there is a problem, one has to first observe everything about the existing process. He will be taking down a lot of notes here while he is trying to observe the ins and outs of this existing process.

Now when one is done with taking down notes, then the next step would be to create an in depth analysis of this problem. Now do take note that this is actually the hardest part of this process because it would entail putting together all the observations and trying to come up with a hypothesis. From there, one will be coming up with the solutions to solve the issue.

The next step would be the improvement step which is implementing the solutions that were made in the previous step. Basically, one has to find out how these solutions can be implemented into the current process. Once one knows how to do this, then he can start implementing the solutions so that the processes will improve.

Now the final step would be the control step which would consist of trying to make sure that the improved solution is well integrated. This means that the new process is controlled and is not reverted back to the old process again. Basically one would do this step just to make sure that the solutions are maintained properly so that it will continue to work.

So if one is in business, then here are some things to take note of. Now in Houston TX, this method is very popular and is one of the standard methods used in quality control. In fact, a lot of companies would teach their management employees about this very method.
