If You're Going To Grow, Grow For Yourself

By Evan Sanders

When we let go of what we think we need to be, we give ourselves the room to grow into who we truly could become.

The society we have grown up in has taught us this story that we should be much more than we are comfortable in being.

Our world has us believing that we have to live up to standards that actually can't be lived up to. The perfect body, relationship, look, hair, lifestyle and everything else you could possibly imagine. These things that we are fed are constantly telling us that we aren't good enough and that we have to purchase this or that to become something better. The truth is, you have these incredible gifts that if you unlocked them you could amaze the world. But the first thing you have to do is take off the mask you've been wearing your entire life.

It's a lot easier and far more fun in the end to be exactly who you are without any apologies.

If you are going to head down the road of personal development, you really have to take one thing into mind. You have to understand why you are doing it. If you are doing it for someone else, you are probably going to fail. But if you do it for yourself because you see something more for yourself, you will eventually build something you can be incredibly proud of.

The problem is most people end up diving into personal development for other people and don't end up believing in what they are doing. Without some significant amounts of belief, you will end up giving up time and time again because your reasons for doing it aren't strong enough. The worst case scenario is that you give up on yourself and you end up resenting the other person who caused you to do it.

Be thankful for what you have right now and who you are and if you are looking to take an expedition that would change you for the better, then develop for yourself. Develop because you know that it's the best thing to do and that it will create a better future for yourself. Improve because it's something that you know will make you happy.

Because in the end, if we stay true to who we are and really went for it, what could we not achieve?
