Stress Relief Ideas

By Christy Lyons

In today's world, finding stress relief can be hard. People are constantly on the go all day long and under a tight schedule. Your health and ability to enjoy life will suffer if you can't keep stress under control. The following are some tools that can help you find stress relief in those situations when you need it most.

A big change in your stress level will happen when you learn to manage your emotions. You are probably experiencing a lot stress if you get angry easily and have a low tolerance for people not doing what you want. You need to accept that you can't always control people. This includes your family, boss, co-workers and other drivers on the road. If you feel you have serious emotional issues, counseling or anger management might be a good idea.

One way to relieve some stress is to manage your time well. If you have a hard time finding the time to finish all your tasks in a day, you can bet that it is causing stress. Almost everyone feels like they could use more time, but the trick is to make the best possible use of the time that you have. Setting priorities is a critical skill to learn. Getting the largest tasks done first is important. When it comes to smaller tasks, try to find ways to delegate these. Make flexible goals and schedules for yourself in case there are unexpected events or delays.

One stressful part of modern life is that we're always online, on the phone, watching TV or otherwise connected to the outside world. While the media isn't always avoidable, there is a need to take breaks away from it. By cutting down on the amount of time you spend watching news, violent shows and movies and mindless reality shows or soap operas, you can clear out your mind and relieve stress. When you're eating dinner, turn off the TV, computer and phone. During your lunch break, also take a break from your cell phone. We may not want time away from our devices, but we need that time to reduce our stress level.

As you can see, stress relief can be quite simple. Petting your dog, going for a walk, or even meditating for five minutes can help you refocus your mind. Taking a short break and using one of these methods will help put you in a more positive state of mind.

Action or Motivation: Which Comes First?

By Al Duncan

What comes first, action or motivation?

This is an old debate. If you do a search on this topic, you will defintely find a ton of results.

This question is kind of like the proverbial "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" question. Of course, there are different schools of thought, but I am gonna have to say that action comes first.

One minute you weren't motivated and then something happened (which means that some action occurred) that caused you to feel motivated. If you just sat there waiting for motivation to magically appear you would still be sitting there.

The Principle of Vibration helps to bring some clarity to this: "Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."

Action is a constant. Some type of action will always be in existence. I don't want to get too complicated so, for the sake of simplicity, let's focus on human productivity. Haven't you ever felt more motivated after you started on task, like cleaning the house, than you were before you started? That happens to everybody.

Just like it takes a spark to start a flame, it takes action to spark motivation. Just because it comes first, however, doesn't mean that action is more important than motivation because action won't last very long without motivation.

If you want to use the Law of Inertia (An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force) to your advantage you must take action.

When people come to me wondering what happened to their motivation, my advice is simple:

Do something. It doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's positive.

No motivation? Take action. No inspiration? Take action. Feeling depressed? Take action.

Take action and...git 'er done!

When a person is operating to get rid of addiction, they often must expend some time inside a rehabilitation facility. For some people, hypnosis is a useful portion of the behavioral treatments they receive for the duration of this approach. Allowing someone to unwind by way of hypnosis can help them take care of the painful causes why they became addicted too as alter the associations that they location with the act they're addicted to. As an example, if they really feel that the only time they really feel loved is when they are high, this negative believed pattern is usually adjusted.

Understanding that addictions require ongoing efforts to remain in check long after a person has initially detoxed means believing that a person can truly benefit from ongoing hypnotherapy to stay "on the wagon." Because a person's thought patterns can be adjusted during hypnosis, any temptations to return to a previous lifestyle of addiction have a chance to be reversed and possibly changed before a relapse occurs. Therefore, ongoing hypnosis can be very effective.

Hypnotherapy should not be relied upon to solely cure a person from addiction, specifically a drug addiction, merely due to the fact they may well demand some medical consideration too. But, the use of hypnosis to reinforce and construct up a foundation of health and effectively becoming for each patient that is certainly looking for to make constructive life adjustments.
