Exercising The Smart Way Is Easier Than You Think

By Brandon Arrow

It's long been proven that getting at least 30 minutes of exercise every day has numerous health benefits. Of course, one of the biggest benefits is controlling weight gain, which in itself can lead to many health issues. However, exercising the smart way can also reduce stress and increase energy levels, and who couldn't benefit from that these days?

The benefits from working out for only 30 minutes a day are more than worth this minimal investment of time. Because it is such a short amount of time, it's important to make sure you're getting the most out of your routine. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by combining cardio training with a full body workout.

Squeezing a full-body cardio workout into just 30 minutes probably sounds impossible. Actually, there are many options to choose from, so you're sure to find something you'll enjoy. The simplest form of exercise that would cover all the bases is running. However, you could also try taking one of the newest dance classes with a few friends. If you prefer to work out on your own, perhaps give kettlebells a try.

Running is a very simple form of exercise, but it's still a great total body workout. Many people think running is just a workout for your legs. In reality, it uses your body's entire core and engages every muscle from there outward, not to mention the cardio workout it provides. Running is especially great for beginners as it doesn't require a hefty investment in equipment or an expensive gym membership.

Joining with friends to take a class can really help with staying motivated. Some newer classes actually provide instruction on Latin-based dances that give a great cardio workout. For those that love dancing, but find exercise to be boring and monotonous, this could be the answer.

Many people view kettlebells as just another form of weight lifting. They probably aren't aware of the great workout a 20-30 minute routine can provide. A basic routine involves swinging and lifting the off-balance weights in various motions. This workout goes way beyond a traditional workout with dumbbells and has the added benefit of providing excellent cardio.

No matter if you're running, Latin dancing, doing a kettlebell routine or engaging in another workout option, getting 20-30 minutes of exercise each day is very important. Be sure you're exercising the smart way by adding cardio to your total body routine. Working out every day will eventually become just another part of your daily routine, and soon you'll wonder how you ever did without it.
