Functional Groups In Miamisburg Christian Church

By Patty Goff

The church is a place where Christians should be every Sunday and within the week. An example is the Miamisburg Christian Church where they can feel comfortable worshiping God and develop those characters that can qualify them for Heaven. Amongst other things, they have units such as the choir, drama, prayer, evangelism, follow up, welfare and Bible study, which work together to edify one another. The pastor is in charge and he gives everybody a sense of belonging in the place.

People in the choir sing for the Lord. They bless God with songs on Sundays and they have to prepare ahead of every fellowship. They are vital for successful organization of crusades too. The church's choir is equipped with good singers and different types of modern instruments. Moreover, those who have flair for it but new to the system are always welcome.

The drama wing of the church is inspiring. It is used to demonstrate God's messages so that the congregation can have better understanding. Everyone in the drama is prayerful because they are aware that the devil can capitalize on the bad roles they play to harm them. The drama wing is an instrument for changing lives.

The members benefit a lot from the efforts of those in the prayer department. This department is like the engine of the church where things that seem impossible are bound to happen. It is the reason for the frequent testimonies that come up on fellowship meetings.

The evangelism wing is specifically created to draw more souls for Christ and to ensure that the great commission is obeyed. By the activities of members in this wing, the church grows more in number. The evangelism unit organizes crusades and other forms of outreaches to win more souls.

Every young Christian needs someone who is mature for guidance. This is the essence of planting the follow up department. A member may be assigned to one or two new converts to keep nurturing them until they become very committed to God. Their major aim is to obey God's command of feeding the young sheep.

The welfare team is always there to support both the new and old members. However, they work harder to meet the needs of the new comers so that their faith in God will not waver. While the prayer wing is more concerned with spiritual matters, this unit is particularly concerned about the physical needs of the brethren. They also partner with the prayer wing sometimes when they have firsthand knowledge about the spiritual needs of those they meet during their visitations.

Members of a good christian church grow spiritually as a result of the efforts made by the Bible study unit. They plan the Bible study topics, outlines and follow up manuals for the new converts and every other person in the church. They are able to hear God speak and relay His mind to the congregation by studying His word. The Bible study group members are filled with the Holy Spirit.
