By Larry Foster

This is a type of therapy that is based on religious believes. It uses the bible as its source of knowledge and guidelines. It assumes that the bible has the answers to all our problems. Christian therapy done by counselors in Stratford CT does not utilize the concepts of psychotherapy that are not stated in the Scripture. Different organizations and churches offer their training to therapists, but the common thing among them all is the use of the bible as a guide.

Counselling is focused on solutions and strengths rather than problem and pathology. They do not take time identifying the root cause of a problem but work towards coming up with a solution. The time taken to achieve success is usually lower than that of the traditional method of counselling. It does not involve going through many procedures such as assessment and collection of history thus many people prefer it.

Bible analysis believes that the problems that we go through in life can be solved through prayer. They think that an individual is the cause of a problem or is responsible for his or her actions, unlike traditional psychotherapy who believe that an individual may do something due to the unconscious response to parents or as a result of environmental factors.

The counselor helps a client to get close to God. When belief is not working or doing things according to the will of God leads to a client getting problems and difficulties in life. Counselling is usually caring and encouraging in times of confrontation. Medication is generally secondary, and in most cases, a patient is asked to rely on prayers.

Understanding the cause of a problem makes individuals be stack in the question instead of helping them achieve the required success. The counselor helps the client in setting goals that she or she want to accomplish after a victory. They both work mutually towards achieving this goals. They are given small home works to go home with for instance a person who is stressed may be given stress management techniques. Then asked to go and practice them and when they come in for a second session reviews are done to establish progress.

In the past, pastoral counselor provided counselling without a license. Currently, it has become an essential requirement. For an individual to become a patrol counselor, they are required to go through both therapy and theology school. This type of treatment usually gives positive results. Since a client is more willing to share his or her problems, enabling therapies to comfortably frames a way for the two to work successfully. Sometimes, the treatments assist the client using the Christian believes where they see every psychological issue as sin. They think that sin makes a person unstable. Hence, psychotherapy involves guiding someone to find God again to fix his or her problems.

The therapist often tends to talk a lot, and they may find themselves spending lots of time talking about the mistake rather than ways of moving forward. Therapists are required to encourage clients to do what the Bible needs of them although sometimes it can be misleading. For instance, a person who wants to divorce is advised not to divorce but to pray and believe.
