According to health authorities, poor management of stress can cause many different health problems to strike. The blood pressure, for instance, may become elevated and it can increase an individual's risk of suffering from heart disease. Type 2 diabetes may also come into being as a result of insulin resistance due to constantly elevated blood sugar.

A lot of people cope with stress in all kinds of unhealthy ways. Many end up consuming alcohol excessively or smoking cigarettes in order to attain comfort.
