The Outline Of Self Defense Classes Dallas

By Larry Patterson

A lot of people are taking up basic fighting skills these days because there are so many small crimes that can happen in the neighborhood. It is true that learning how to fight will guarantee that one will not get hurt, learning these skills may actually increase the chances of surviving an actual attack. So just to give an idea, here is a short outline of what one will learn if he or she signs up for self defense classes Dallas.

When one would learn how to fend him or herself on the streets, there are three essential types of attacks that one has to take note of. These are the unarmed attacks, the ground attacks, and the weapon attacks. Of course, the easiest to defend against would be the hand to hand attacks which would include punches, kicks, locks, grapples, throwdowns, and basically anything unarmed.

Now, most attacks are a result of being under drugs or being under alcohol influence, so an attacker who is drunk or high will most likely just hit anyone randomly without much rhythm

If the attacker is probably a more experienced mugger, then the attacker can grapple or lock the defender. When this happens, the defender must learn how to perform a counter submission to get out of the lock or grapple and run away. Students will learn basic lock counters and attacks for most common street attacks like the double choke or the cobra clutch.

Now, a large percentage of attacks end up on the ground, especially during the cases of rape. Fortunately though, there is a combat form known as Jiu Jitsu which teaches attacks that can be used while lying on the back. Most classes teach basic jiu jitsu techniques aimed at breaking the arms and legs of the assailant while the defender is on the ground.

Lastly, there are weapon attacks such as knife attacks or baton attacks. Now, these kinds of attacks are more dangerous because weapons can actually kill people. That is why students will be taught how to deflect, parry, and take damage from weapons without getting killed in the process.

Now, most students do ask if it is possible to defend against a gun. While it is definitely possible to defend against a gun through disarming the assailant. However, this is a little bit risky to do if one does not know how. These types of moves are taught to the police and can also be taught to regular people.

These are some of the things that one will learn if he or she would take up these classes. Do take note that there is no guarantee of safety even if one learns these moves. However, as mentioned above, will decrease the chances of getting killed.
