Mastering How To Swing A Golf Club

By Aaron Hustler

Even if you are golfer at heart, learning how to swing a golf club can be really challenging. There are many detailed approaches to follow out there but you won't be able to follow them correctly without applying the simple tips first. So, experienced or not, here are some tips to better your game play.

Instead of watching other people play, comparing yourself and pointing out things that you think is wrong with how you play, why don't you just watch your own play instead? Film yourself or ask someone to film you. That way, you can easily observe all of your moves and take note of the things that might affect your play in a bad way.

Examine yourself as a whole. Commit to memory the way you position yourself, the way you move you arms and the manner when you are hitting off a target. Then find the solution to whatever it is that you think you did wrong.

Observe your stance first. Follow the appropriate position so that it wouldn't be too stiff when you swing. If your stance is awkward, not only you are jeopardizing the game but asking for an injury as well. The shoulders must be aligned with the ball. The right foot must be pointed straight while the left foot must be pointed slightly to the left. Take note of the distance of yourself and the target as well. It wouldn't do you any good if you're too near or too far.

Being calm while playing is also a crucial factor when playing the game. Do not try to do as what others are doing because this may intervene with how you play. You have to remember that what works for them may not work to anyone else. If you position yourself too rigidly then it is more likely that the game is over.

The next one is how to perform a good backswing and downswing. When preparing for a backswing, start with your arms and then your shoulders. Take note of the positioning of your elbow as well. If the swing is too tense, your right elbow might be in an awkward position called the 'flying right elbow', which might also affect the left one and move into a 'chicken wing position'. It is rather awkward for the swing. After making sure that the elbows are in a complimenting position, also make sure that the hips and arms is in the right position. Keep your eyes on the ball the whole time.

When it all comes down to it, controlling the golf swing slice can really be annoying. But with practice, you will definitely come up with a solution. Like most people say, keep practicing to make it perfect.

Do not stick to something you know wouldn't work out right when playing the game. If you have to buy a new golf guide to make you feel better, do it now, this might motivate you. Improving with how you do things will always do you good even in playing golf.
