Martial Arts Sparring Pads - reduce your risk of injury!

By Jaden Alfred

Are you considering getting a new set of Martial Arts Sparring Pads? Here we will go through the top 3 questions people have when looking to get their first set of sparring gear. I hope that this helps you in your purchasing decision!

1.What do you mean by Martial Arts Sparring Pads?

Protective equipment or sparring pads that are worn by competitors in Martial Arts are better known as Martial Arts Sparring Pads. These specially designed pads are worn specifically for training and competition to help protect against potential injuries that could occur. Generally there are 6 pieces of sparring equipment that you will need: Foot Pads, Shin Pads, Groin Guards, Chest Protectors, Gloves, Arm Guards, Mouth Guards and most importantly Head protection.

2.Why do you need Martial Arts Sparring Pads?

If you are thinking of competing at many tournaments and hopefully make it to the Nationals or higher, we definitely recommend that you don't skimp out on price, protection must come first, price shouldn't matter when it comes to your safety. A simple elbow to the foot can knock a competitor out of competition and training for weeks, we have seen many bruised and broken feet that simply could have been avoided if they were wearing the proper gear..

3.I am confused, there are too many brands, which is best for me?

Choosing your equipment can sometimes be a difficult process, what you should do is always talk to your coach and teammates because every Martial Art has different rules and regulations when in comes to competition equipment approved for use in their events. If you were to go to a WTF Taekwondo competition, you must use Adidas as they are the approved vendor for sanctioned WTF competitions throughout North America.

You should consider:

1.Don't skimp on price, pay what you need to get the best protection

2.Get the best and forget the rest

3.You can't put a price on protection so pay what you need to
