Oatmeal Facials Which Save You Money

By Julianne Marks

Using oatmeal in a facial is not anything new. There numbers of homemade facials available that you can put to use in order to make your skin appear and feel improved. Most people who are experts in homeopathic skin care recommend using oatmeal as one of your primary ingredients. This is due to the fact that oatmeal can be put to use to soak up additional oil, to slough off the skin and to give moisture to the skin on your face. There are tons of homemade facial recipes to pick from.

In this first recipe you'll need to grind your dry oatmeal into a powder. You'll need to let that sit a minute as you prepare the other ingredients in a separate bowl (yogurt and honey for example). Use a blender or coffee grinder to mix all of these ingredients into a thick smooth paste.

Warm up half a cup of purified water in your microwave for a couple of minutes. While the water warms, mix together instant oatmeal, honey, cinnamon, and toddlers milk in a bowl. Add the heated water to the bowl of ingredients and mix to create a paste. Before applying the paste to your face, test the temperature so you don't burn your skin. Spread the paste evenly over your face but avoid your eyes. Leave the mask in place for 30 to 60 minutes. When you're ready to wash off the mask, use water and papaya soap, which can be found in the organic section of most grocery stores. If you can't find papaya soap or don't want to use it, you can use whatever soap you have on hand.

The next recipe we have to share includes two tablespoons of cooked oats and a tablespoon or plain unflavored yogurt. Now stir these two together taking care to mash the oats well. Don't apply this to your skin before making sure the oats have been completely broken down. To thin the mixture if it is too thick simply add more yogurt or some milk. Let this mixture sit after spreading on the skin but avoiding eyes for just a few minutes. Once this mask dries rinse it with warm water. Now apply your regular moisturizer.

This will thicken as it sits. You'll want to prepare a few tablespoons of yogurt with a couple of tablespoons of honey and one egg white making sure they are thoroughly combined. Mix all ingredients with the oatmeal. Using light strokes spread this mixture evenly onto your skin. Ten to fifteen minutes is all it takes for your skin to tighten and the mix to dry. Now that you've allowed that to dry rinse with warm water.

If you have particularly dry skin, you can use this recipe. Start off by massaging your skin with dry oatmeal. Apply a mixture of mashed banana and yogurt as you would a regular moisturizer. Avoid the eyes as you spread this evenly over your skin. Now allow to sit for a bit and then rinse with tepid water. There are lots of great ways that you can improve the condition of your skin with oatmeal. Lots of people who specialize in skin care recommend using oatmeal if you want to make your own homemade facials. These facial recipes are just the beginning however, because there are thousands out there.
