How to start online dating

By Colton Hoyins

Do you want to try online dating? Looking for a partner online is now a huge way many couples meet. Times have changed and online dating is now the thing to do. It's as simple as signing up for one of the many online dating sites that are out there on the web today. There a many that charge a monthly fee for use of the site, and there are others that are free. Do your research and see which one suites you the best.

There are so many online dating sites out there on the web, so how do you choose the best one for you out of thousands? This can be extremely hard, so here are some things you should ask yourself before you begin your journey. Firstly you should decide whether you want to pay in order to find your significant other or what could intentionally be your future spouse. It may be hard to get yourself to want to pay for a dating service, but if you really think about it it's worth the money when you could possibly find your future husband or wife. Paid membership sites are obviously going to offer better services and have more features packed into it.

A positive about joining a site where you have to pay is it shows you right off the bat that all the members there are serious about finding someone special, so you immediately know what their intentions are. If you decide to use a free dating website, you run the risk of finding people who aren't there with the same intentions you have. A great dating website will put in the effort to try to get to know your personal personality.

This is great because they can then take your personality traits and match it with someone else with similar interests, and anything else that matches your needs and wants. Most dating sites will have you fill out a large questioner at the time you join their website. The downside is this usually takes some time to do, but in the long run it will be worth it as you will get a better match in a partner. Another quality to look for is the design of the site. Is it pleasing to the eyes? Does it have a simple and flowing layout? If the design is poor this should raise a red flag in your head, it shows the site has not put as much effort in as another site with a great design has.

Next you are ready to add pictures to your profile. This process should be taken seriously as pictures are worth a thousand words. Try to choose photos that best express your personality, every side of it. Do you have a favorite sport? Why not take an action picture of you playing it! Get some fun pictures of you laughing with your friend, or anything that will light up the face of the person looking at them. Pretend you were browsing people and choose photos that you would want to see if you were looking at someone else profile. So get out there and find your soul mate!
