Student Bible

By Honorary Rabbi Jo

The Bible is a wonderful book, yet its marvels are sometimes buried extremely deep. The Student Bible delves deeply but puts that heritage as well as effect right on that study desk! It's rich, significantly extensive, full of meaning-- however often, that meaning is tough to figure out in its original context. The Bible was composed over thousands of years, by dozens of writers. Connecting the dots between their messages can occasionally be perplexing. It's especially complicated provided that the authors inhabited several varied societies; all extremely varied to our own.

All sorts of activities are able to get lost in interpretation, via no fault of the translators themselves: humor, poetry, as well as obscure references to the then-current milieu. There will come a time to leave casual browsing and request support from those who've studied it long before. It's time to step up to a Student Bible.

What Makes This Student Bible So Different?

A Student Bible is a combination of unique commentary: whether generalized or exact, which works to broaden the reader's understanding of the most essential book they can ever read. In Psalm 119:115, we find this, "Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (NIV) God's Word reveals us the way we need to live our lives, but in some cases it can be challenging for us to know how to apply that to our everyday lives. The NIV Student Bible is built to focus a light on, and bring incredible understanding to how the words composed millennia ago can guide us still today.

The title - Students - does not indicate only a student is able to utilize this Bible, or that you should be an undergraduate in order to benefit. This category of Bible merely features content specifically made with the student in mind; no matter if you are a high school student, college student, or student at your local church evening Bible Study class. So do not let the name steer you away just because you are not already going after a degree in higher education. Imagine this a Bible for people going after a higher level of understanding in God's Word.

Study To Have Answers To Questions The World Is Asking

2 Peter 3:15 tells us, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have." (NIV) It is important that we have the ability to respond to those who question us regarding our belief. Today, skeptics run rampant, professing the Bible to be filled with contradictions; that suffering disproves the existence of a caring God, or that science has actually gotten rid of any sort of need for God whatsoever. Others profess Christianity emerged from pagan religions, or that its system of integrities is barbaric, antiquated, or inferior to other religions. Apologetics Bibles are for the even more dedicated student or rising apologist. These contain commentary as well as by-lines composed by Ravi Zacharias, Norman Geisler, J. P. Moreland, Hank Hanegraaff as well as others on all of the above subject matters, and even more!
