This is a Great Way to Raise Your Self-Esteem

By David Ferrers

A lack of self-esteem can be a curse. But it doesn't need to be that way. There are numerous ways that you can overcome a lack of self-confidence. A number of them aren't that difficult to master.

In the NLP training leaflet that I give away free on my website I advocate that the most vital part of improving your self image is to get a hold on who you are and what you want in life.

Like any other journey, the success of your journey through life is dependent on lucidity about your destination. If your self-esteem is not currently supporting you it is likely to be because you are not clear about who you are and what you want.

The most significant part of improving your self-image is to be absolutely clear that it's simply who you are. You are not travelling towards a point in time when you will have a fantastic self-image it is something that you already have.

As you are studying this report it's a fair presumption that you suspect that you have low self-confidence; however is this always the case. Are there not some times when your self-esteem is high? And if your self-image is high at any point then you want to capture it whilst it is in a good place and reproduce it in other situations.

This is what to do: think about some physical act that you can do without drawing attention to yourself. This could be pinching your thumb and index finger together, this will then be your anchor. Then when you next notice that your self confidence is high quickly pinch your thumb and index finger together. Do this anchoring exercise numerous times when you happen to notice that your self-esteem is good.

After you've anchored your "good self-esteem" state at least 4 times it will be ready for use at any time. Then, the next time you're feeling that your self-confidence is low - use your anchor and feel your self-esteem rise.
