How Does Goal Setting Encourage Employees

By John Albert

In every private or government industry, there are goals being set every year to maintain the global developments. Cash is spent in performing strategic planning and goal-setting meetings. These events will bring more motivation to workers in carrying out their tasks and responsibilities more efficiently and effectively.

Based on the "100 Day Challenge Program" by Gary Ryan Blair, goal setting is based on the concept that every time individuals work in the direction of a predetermined goal that is coupled with a timeline, they'll be more passionate in accomplishing their tasks. But if time is unrestricted, then people will be less likely to complete any job on time. When employees have achieved the objectives set, then they'll be more inclined to reaching more goals set by the organization and will develop a more keen sense of trustworthiness. Setting of objectives will direct progress in their overall performance.

According to Locke and Eisenhardt, the institutions must also consider the effects of setting goals in the workplace. Supervisors shall be conscious that goal setting must be understandable by all workers in order for the whole workforce to be conscious in all the organization's undertaking. It's also imperative that employees must be capable of trusting their superiors and that both are able to modify any objective which has been set in congruence with situations that may arise.

Tips on goal setting are a requirement and it must be adhered to by all the people in an organization. This was described in many goal setting reviews like 100 day challenge review. Without these set of rules, employees will question the organization's capabilities and credibility. Administrators shall be able to make an evaluation regularly to make sure that goals are achieved.

Companies without goal settings will definitely find themselves in a quandary of keeping their undertaking. Workers will lose their morale as well as their efficiency and interest in the performance of their task. Keeping employees motivated will determine an organization's survivability.
