How To Reinvent Your Life Slowly But Surely

By Casandra Newton

Life is never dull. Everyone knows it has its ups and downs. Sometimes though, the lows become unbearable. They force people to take a step back and question their existence. This can be productive time when people ask for ideas on how to reinvent your life. People often do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Einstein called it insanity. To get a different result, the initial behavior has to change.

Many people do not want to change or tell themselves they cant. This negative self-talk happens inside everyone. It is easier to blame others and indulge in self-pity than to face the truth and accept responsibility. The first step therefore, is taking ownership for the past and changing negative self-talk into positive affirmations.

A productive exercise includes identifying and acknowledging the negative messages each of us carry around. Negative messages can be replaced with positive ones if they are identified and acknowledged. Unfortunately, those tormenting negative messages do not disappear overnight. The trick is to get into a good habit and start replacing them with positive ones over time.

Fear is a crippling emotion. Fear makes people resistant to change. But the truth is people cannot grow without change. By adopting a different point of reference that involves accepting and embracing change, people can start moving toward self-fulfillment. Again, it does not happen overnight but it is something that can be accomplished if worked on one day at a time, one step at a time.

For people to lead happy and fulfilled lives, they have to start by identifying what makes them happy. Too often, society dictates that people should lead busy and hectic lives, which leaves little time for recognizing the things that provide real enjoyment. It is common to fill each day with things that should be done and not with things we want done. In order to reach the desired end goal, it first has to be defined. This requires a level of self-knowledge not everyone has.

Once people discover their passions, they can move onto the next step which involves goal setting. Goals become the big picture of their desired future. Goals will motivate them to turn their dreams into reality. Goals should be specific and realistic. They should also have a deadline. Goals that do not have a time associated with them are more likely to be left up in the air.

Once the big picture goals are in place, a list of things that need to be done in order to achieve those goals can be drawn up. This list will become a daily to-do list. Any work done on the daily to-do list will contribute to the accomplishment of the goals. Goals transform from dreams into achievable events through these daily actions.

Everyone has the choice to either stay as they are or to discover how to reinvent your life. Once the commitment is made to change, something special happens. The wheels start turning and the glorious power of momentum starts working.
