What People Like About the Guayabera

By Robert Jones

Weather and temperatures can be pivotal in determining which garments suit us best. No one would select winterwear for the hot months of the year or vice versa, after all. Can you imagine anyone being silly enough to don a lined trenchcoat at the height of summer in the tropics?

It is crucial to keep practicality in mind even if you are concerned about appearances too. In fact, a lot of people say that they find those at ease and relaxed in their garments more appealing than those who are obviously not. You could either freeze to death in Alaska or get heat allergies in Asia if you aren't dressed appropriately.

This might explain some of the characteristics of warm-country clothing. In such places, the goal is to make sure that the body can "breathe" while being protected from the sun's direct rays. These are the sorts of clothes even visitors to such locales have to note, so they can prepare.

It can be interesting to give local garments a try if you have never done so in a particular country. Most find it amusing to experience the fashion formed by circumstances different from their own. If you are heading for a warm country, you can expect some very light fabrics and clothes.

At warm spots, you are certain to find the obligatory Guayabera. Among the men's shirts in warm countries, this is among the most famous and widely distributed. An alternative name for it would be the Mexican wedding shirt.

It may be lightweight, but it can be used for special occasions too. It is, as is made obvious above, a common choice in some countries for wedding attire. It is wonderful for its combination of comfort and fashion.

A good number of tropical and Latin countries have it as the traditional formal garment for men, as a matter of fact. In Cuba, it's been declared as the official formal dress garment for men since 2010. It can be seen everywhere there, and on everyone.

Many of the formal types of the garment have sleeves going all the way to the wrists. Most of the formal versions come in white. Formal versions are also usually fitted to the body.

There are yet more names used to refer to it than have already been mentioned. It is a truly flexible piece of clothing. Whether you use it for formal occasions or informal ones, it should be fine.

Something more to note about this beach wedding shirt is that it never goes sans pockets. The number of pockets can change depending on the style and place. A bit of ornamentation is usually found on the pockets.
