The Four Most Important Piece Of Jiu Jitsu Gear

By Jordan Moore

The right Jiu Jitsu gear is important when you plan to start training in this sport, and through out the entire participation of the art. Some might think that jiu jitsu gear is something that is meant to be worn only. However, having the right gear would actually make a lot of difference if you want to make a success of this endeavour. The sport has various pieces used as acknowledged apparel for the sport, and if you have, the cash to spend you can as well buy all of them. But if you are in a tight spot financially, you might want to buy only those that are deemed vital.

If there ever was an epitaph of the jiu jitsu gear, it would have to be the Gi. The very essence of the sport is represented by this special garment. Although it is called officially as the gi, it is also popular by another name, the kimono. A top and a pair of pants basically make up the gi or the kimono. Whether in practice or in competition, it is the official uniform that anyone performing the sport would have to use. The Jiu Jitsu Gi or kimono has a cut and design that allows for flow and movement of the entire body when executing various moves of the Jiu Jitsu art.

Anyone who practices the arts or even remotely knows the basics about it must be aware that there are also belts involved. The belts also come in a variety of colors, including black, purple-blue, brown, or even white. The Jiu jitsu gear would not be complete without the belt since it is an indication of the skill of the wearer. The white is the first belt given when you start the training. Improving your skills by continuing your practice of the art would lead to the achievement of other belts. Your instructor would be the one who will give it to you. The black belt is what you would want since it is the highest distinction, but it could take you around ten years and a lot of competitions. Therefore, when you sport someone clad in a Gi with a black belt around the waist, know they have the skill.

To be at your peak while performing the sport, there is a need to be in proper gear that would protect you from the amount of contact involved. Using the proper Jiu jitsu gear would help accomplish this. If you are heavily involved in floor trainings, you have to make sure you put on some rash guards. They will be useful in absorbing the impact or force that will be suffered by the body. They also help in regulating your body temperature as they absorb your sweat and perspire it while you are training. But in some Jiu jitsu duels, this gear is not allowed.

Anyone who engages in any contact sport is sure to sustain friction burns on the skin. The ears and the head actually gets the most brunt. Due to grappling and trying to free yourself from the hold, the ear will be brushed hard against your opponent. This is where the ear guards come in, in order to prevent ear burns. Having these four pieces of Jiu Jitsu gear will ensure that you cover all purposes of dressing in the right attire for the sport.
