How Am I Coping With My Teenagers

By Joy Turner

As, one know I have 6 kids and 4 of them are teenagers. Dealing with their irresponsible behaviors and attitudes can drive someone up a wall. I worry about how they are going to be as an adult. It always failed when trying to talk them into being better. They tend to do the same thing again and again. Sometimes I feel like packing my stuff and leaving them But, I would not do that my mother did not leave my sisters and me. "I would come home from work and just get angry at them right away." It happens a lot. No one cleaned the kitchen is dirty, clothes everywhere, and the garbage is falling over. Now, here I am yelling my lungs out and nothing gets done still. If it does get done, it takes them hours to finish and when they do it incomplete. The thing about my Teenager is their lazy, just pure dee lazy. Tell them to do something they get very emotional. Sometime I wonder are these teenagers running over me.

I am learning about my teenagers is they do not understand that right now, I'm the only parent in the house that is providing all the necessities to live. This means, I have to pay the bills, buy the groceries, buy their clothes, and pay for school and go to work every day. My teenagers feel like since I'm not home all the time, no one is there to watch over them so they can do what they want.

No one is there to push them that extra mile they need to go. No role figures around once they get home from school to talk about school to, they do not understand why. They probably never understand until they have their own families.

Coping with teenagers is like going thru an obstacle course, try one way we'll think that is right, but it is wrong.

I'm dealing with my kids pretty good. I just know not to let them get to us. Because trying to cope with teenagers' attitudes and different ways, can lead to breaking down and may end up in the hospital. How I deal with it, take the things I give them and do for them, nothing extra. Parents have to get down to the point with them and let them know that we're serious and not playing around. I let them know that what they do now will reflect how they are in life. Okay, see some of them listen and some will not, but stressing is not good. I always heard that its best to start teaching them to have morals young. That way they want forget. Cause trying while their teenagers, Its like talking to a mirror, talking to yourself.
