The Importance Of An Encounter With God

By Myrtle Cash

An encounter with God refers to one of the best proves of the existence of God. These are usually in much diversified forms. Every living being has ever had the experience, but people never seem to notice it, hence come up with their own conclusions about the existence of God.

The experience can be in two possible forms. It may be one very good and fulfilling one, or one that is very discouraging but transforming. The bad encounters are not really fashioned by God. These usually happen to those people upon whom the grace of god has always been sufficient. Unfortunately, they end up despising Christ and even calling him a poor performer.

He may decide to show him his mighty power by allowing the devil to harm his life. This usually happens in the event of his sinning. After realizing that serving the devil is doing him no good, and then he finally turns to God. These eventually become the strongest believers, since they have tasted either side.

The encounter also may be in the form of a good event. Very great things may happen to the life of an individual who can straight away attribute the way they have happened to God. These ones may be in the form of prayers answered, or the Almighty rewarding them for something good that they have done.

The recipients of this encounter may be those people that really do not expect God to transform their lives. These may be those individuals that have lost all possible hope in life. They could be those individuals who go preaching that Christ does not exist and that He did not die for all our sins. They even could be those alienated by society. All this is just to prove that, God can never leave his people alone, far away as they may drift.

Those that are for him may also at times get discouragements. These discouragements may tend to disorient them from their belief in the existence of Christ. The Lord is aware of such traps, and these being his people, He never ever leaves them alone. He always will do something to remind them that He still exists and that they should never stop serving him.

However, a category of people is fond of very funny ways of proving that God exists. These people are the type that may resort to proclaiming that Christ does not exist, unless they see miracles performed upon their lives. This is termed a very wrong way of testing of the grace of the Lord.

An encounter with God is an experience so common to every individual. Those that know how God works and trust in His faithfulness never doubt his grace. Others may however choose to lead their own lives that do not glorify Christ. Christ however patiently calls upon His people without ceasing.
