Safety Precautions During A Nature Adventure Outing

By Sue A Waberry

I have actually been a mountaineer for most of my life. Even as possible danger exists every step of the way, I have learned my lesson since one fateful day in Mount Elbert, Colorado.

Buddies and also I were rushing up to arrive at the peak ahead of sunset as soon as a brown bear came hurrying right in front of us. It was a great thing Casey got one of her own effective bear pepper sprays readily available. Otherwise, all of us would never have survived to tell the story.

Animal rights advocates need not worry about using bear repellents, which decrease the probability of permanent damage as well as death among humans and bears throughout a bear attack. They are made just as personal protection weapons in warding off bears rather than engaging them in a terrible fight.

Self-defense spray effects are non-fatal and non permanent, leaving enough time for humans to leave the bear, get some assistance and let the bear to rejoin its population. Casey loves to tell us that it is not advisable for use on humans, or normal pepper spray on bears.

Despite the fact that I don't often head over to bear-populated areas, I constantly have my very own Guard Alaska bear spray in hand now. It is the only EPA-approved bear defense spray for repelling all bear species, but it is non-flammable and does not contain ozone-depleting substances at the same time.

During one of my nature treks, I came across a black bear that seemed to have just gotten out of hibernation. I was scared of running away since I knew it would catch up with me sooner or later.

I snapped up my belt bag right away. Just when it was about to jump on me, I squished my defense spray for bears onto its face as well as chest from some 15 to 20 feet. I then made a run for it, never looking back to where the upset bear was.

Nature adventure outings won't be complete without having effective bear repellents. Whether we like it or not, peril comes the moment this is least expected.
