A Few Conversations With Jesus Would Surprise Many People

By Gloria Mason

During the time Jesus was walking the Earth, everyone who came into contact with him gained something from those conversations. It involved knowledge that they needed to handle the times and various people they dealt with. These conversations with Jesus surprised the people of his day as they would certainly surprise people today and even more so.

A world of politics legislate against the words that Jesus has given us. If this was studied with the same seriousness as some of this legislation we would have a better society. It has been captured and available for all and there is no real need for a person to person conversation which is not possible anyway.

War would be the subject of one of those conversations. One of the things that our Savior would comment on is that all things that are done should go toward improving our society. This would be based on what is the greatest benefit to people, generally. The discussion would not center around religious differences, however, as that is only a smoke screen for what is happening in places like the middle east, where he came from.

The subject of gun control will come up in some of these conversations. The fact that everyone wants to attribute this idea to him is amazing as he has stated that people should take up their swords and follow him. Swords being the weapon of the day, this gives a lie to people having to get permission from someone else to have and carry it.

A very interesting discussion of abortion will be high on many peoples agendas for Jesus. They would attempt to bring up the conditions of today and suggest they are better at fashioning a policy than he is. He would remind them that he knew each and every person while they were still in the womb and that has not changed.

There are many people who have stated that if they had a chance to talk to Jesus, they would tell him a thing or two. They would be wrong about this as the nature of the man and his presence would quell any thoughts they had that they know better than he does. The nature of men and women, from the earliest mention, has not changed and can not make the decisions they need to make without the insight he provides.

The basic assumptions about what would Jesus do about or in any of the situations in which anyone finds themselves will have proven to be wrong. The surprises would come not because they have not been voiced before but because the passion for which they are adhered to, by him, is impressive. The very soundness of his statements would hold people in awe of his ability to understand what they are going through and get right to the core of their beliefs and misunderstandings.

The very many conversations with Jesus that people think they would do is offered to others only because a face to face is not possible. They know that they would have to actually think about their lives and what they have done with them This would not settle well for them and they know they fall far short of what is expected of them.
