There is no time you really feel alone like when the person you love dies brutally. It pains, it hurts so deep and of course does subject you to a lot of emotional trauma. There are so many causes of sudden cruel deaths and good examples include overdoses, suicide and drowning. With the help at hand aspects of the authority, it becomes easy to investigate the sudden death of the person you loved but the act itself has several processes.

An investigation must take place to aid with the identification of the sudden death that took place. In most cases, the incident must be reported to a local coroner who in holds what is called an inquest. It will be necessary to provide details about the death of your loved one.

When someone dies, the body goes to the mortuary. You may be requested to identify the body there but this can be hard and not happen quickly. To help solve this, the coroner may collect details from various sources, especially from people who are willing to help with investigation. It could be a friend, a neighbor, a family member or any person who was present at the death scene.

Make sure you or the people in the investigation team take photos of the place where the body lay dead. If there was a message left, either in form of a tape record, a note or a video message, give it to the police because it will act as an evidence during the investigation process. There are coroners that can agree that you hold a copy of the message left before death although this is not legally approved.

The coroner, an independent judicial officer, assumes the task of investigating sudden, violent and unnatural death. He or she may be an investigative officer or a doctor. This means that if they are both, then they are legally and medically qualified. They will give an immediate helping hand in finding out how, when and where the person who died did so.

A post mortem procedure then follows. Here is where the judicial officer makes some arrangement to assist with the investigation of the brutal killing that happened. In fact, the authority works around the clock to help identify the exact factors that may have led to the occurrence of the sudden death. Actually, they try to bring out the precise reason that led to death occurring.

You must always be in contact with the officers that work with the coroners. They are good people who answer all your questions in case you have them. They also help in preparing you for the inquest process.

In this help at hand highlight, the inquest is the process of making a public legal inquiry, which will help in finding the facts about the death of the departed. Note that this is not a trial and never intended to put blames on any person. Some people can find it intimidating because it takes place in a courtroom.
