A Technique For Effective Email Marketing Copywriting

By Essie Osborn

When it comes to digital marketing, one of the most widely used tools by a lot of marketers would actually be email promotion. Now one thing that marketers have to take note of this type of promotion is that it is not always effective because a lot of people would actually regard these types of emails as spam. It is for this reason that an email marketing copywriting structure was created so that marketers will be able to send effective promotional emails to a particular contact list.

When writing promotional emails, one has to make sure that he persuades the contact to respond by following the four Ps of persuasion. Following this structure will allow the marketer to grab the attention of the person, make him interested in the offering, show him that it is credible, and make him buy it on the spot. These four Ps would make up the entire structure of the message.

The very first P that would be dealt with would be the promise. Now the promise is the statement that would tell the readers what benefits the product can offer and what it can promise to the reader. This is usually a one liner sentence and is usually found in the title of the message.

The next P would be known as the picture and this would be the part wherein the reader would already form a mental image in his head. Now this would usually appear in the body of the mail and would appear as a form of description so that the reader knows what it looks like. If it is a product, then a brief description of the product would be good.

The next part of the body would then have some facts about the product so that the readers will believe that the claims are true. It may come in many forms like testimonials, stories, or even simple factual evidence backed up by statistics. Do take note that all have to be true to make people believe.

The very last P would be none other than the push which is where the marketer would push the reader to actually do something. This message is known as the call to action and would engage the buyer to do something right away. This is usually used when the marketer would want to speed up the buying urgency of the consumer.

Now one thing to take note of when creating promotional emails would be to make sure to put in a lot of pictures in it. A text heavy based message will definitely not be as attractive as one that has a few pictures inside. So be sure to put in a lot of pictures and make sure they are nice.

Now if people do not respond, do not take it personally as the structure is not foolproof. One should only expect a handful of people to respond as not everyone will be interested in the product. However, just remember that its a numbers game and one should just shoot as many emails as he can to leads.
