The Famous Lean Six Sigma Training

By Essie Osborn

When it comes to manufacturing and managing products in a company, there are some ways to be able to be productive so that more sales and profits will be earned. One of the best methods that one could use would be none other than the lean six sigma method. Of course if one would want to master this method, then he would have to undergo intense lean six sigma training.

Now just so one would know, this very famous method is actually a combination of the famous lean manufacturing method and the equally famous six sigma method. Since both methods work so well, they were integrated in order to produce even better results than they do individually. By using the combined or integrated method, it is actually possible to be very productive.

Of course before one would learn the integrated version, it is very important that one would study both of them individually first so that they can understand the basic concepts behind the two. For those who do not know about the lean manufacturing method, it is a method that tries to lower costs and increase profits. While doing this, one would also try to continue having good quality products.

Now the six sigma method on the other hand concentrates more on trying to decrease the number of defects in each product. Now the meat of this method is the statistical computations that it would make in order to know the inefficiencies in the processes of the manufacturing. The main principle behind this method is to simply have a ninety nine point ninety nine percent success rate.

Of course after learning about both of them, one will be learning how to apply them separately so that he will know how each one of them functions as an individual. The way the trainers would do this would be to give out some business cases for the students to solve. This would strengthen the critical thinking skills of the trainees.

After he has already studied how each of them individually work, then he may now start with integrating them. Now when they are combined, one will be learning the DMAIC process which is simply define, measure, analyze, improve, and control method. The main goal here is total elimination of useless processes and total optimization.

Basically, one would first have to define the problem, measure the extent of this problem, and analyze it. After making an analysis, one should now think of a solution that would help solve this problem. From there, improve the process and control it so that one can properly maintain the process and make sure that the efficient process is done all the time in order to maximize profits and decrease losses.

Take note that there are ranks as to how much a person has already mastered this method. Now the rankings are actually the same as the rankings that karate practitioners use. Basically, one would be going through white, yellow and green belts before he reaches his highest form which is black belt.
