You Have To Want It More Than You're Afraid Of It

By Evan Sanders

You have to truly want it more than you are terrified of it not happening.

Each day, we have chances to grow, change, and rise to the challenge in life. What may just look like another day is actually a chance to do something wonderful. True, almost all of the days we have may start off as standard, but our plans that we have for ourselves, if implemented, can really turn something mediocre into something, well, amazing. It takes effort. Lots and lots of effort. Everything in the world will certainly be pushing you to just stay the same. Because that's where a lot of us are. We reside in the middle. Not in the sense of classes etc, but in the sense of what we are doing with ourselves. When we start moving towards the edge, that is truly when things become exciting. However , at the same time, that's when the doubt of the future becomes greater and greater. You have to determine for yourself if you are O.K living in a land of uncertainty and yet be committed to total belief in what you're doing. Trust me, it's hard.

Call it the universe, call it God, call it whatever you want to call it, but the fact is the same. You are here for an excellent reason and you have skills that need to be drilled into talents. What ends up going down though is that we worry too much about what other people think and we begin to worry that what we are doing isn't going to happen for one reason or another.

Much of the time, the best ideas ideas die with the folks that they live in. Lots of people take their dreams to the grave and never see them through because they are just too afraid. Fear is the primary killer of dreams. This may be fear of failing, fear of opinions, fear of ridicule...however, fear drives one to shrink in the opportunity they have.

It would be foolish for me to say to not be afraid. Anyone that says that they are not frightened should possibly consult a doctor. It is what you do after being fearful that counts. This is where bravery comes in. Courage is that insane 20 seconds after being deathly afraid where magic appears. It's fine to be scared, but like I have asserted before, you've got to desire it more than you are scared of it. You have got to decide that it's what you really want and then be white-hot and passionate about it. Without that decision, you'll flounder back and forth for eternity. Decide.

Be driven by everything and everyone telling you...no. Make that your fuel. Don't let it bring you down. Let it incentivize you to keep going. The innovators that make the most important difference in this world are those who do not, under any circumstance, let the outside world effect their souls belief in their dreams. Protect your dreams with dragons, guards, and trolls. Do whatever you can to keep them safe and harbor that belief. You would be stunned by how easy it is to let a voice or an opinion dig its way into your heart and then slowly burn everything inside. Only let people and words that continue your communicable belief in your purpose enter into your heart.
