The Difference Between Psychics And Psychic Mediums

By Kathleen Burns

Most individuals at some time in life come across a psychic or tarot card reader. Whether passing by an office, walking by a booth at a festival or speaking with one in an entertainment district, these individuals are often easy to find. While this is the case, psychic mediums which help individuals communicate with departed souls are often fewer and far between.

When it comes to the physical and spiritual, it is often believed that these are two separate worlds. The physical being that of the living, and the spirit or spiritual world being that where the spirits of those whom have passed on now reside. In many cases, individuals also look towards mediums to communicate with spirits of loved ones whom have crossed over to the other side.

In this context, a medium often communicates by contacting someone whom has passed over and acts as a translator between the spirit of a departed and a person or persons still living. In most cases, the medium receives intuitive information through pictures and thoughts in the mind, then relays that information on to the living. After which, if the individual has any questions or concerned, the medium will often sit with, talk or provide additional readings as necessary.

At other times, mediums can hear auditory messages or experience a presence, especially in the case of a seance. In fact, there are some psychics and mediums who offer readings and seances on a regular basis. While this is the case, it is often advised that those participating in these events know what to expect before attending such an event.

Whether an individual ask a question, or wants to simply hear what a spirit might have to say, attending a seance is a good way to go. In other cases, individuals might want to contact a psychic whom is also a medium for a private reading, especially if questions are personal in nature.

In a seance, the medium is often a channel which the dead use to talk with the living. In fact, it has been reported that in more than once case, people attending these type events could see and hear the dearly departed. When this is the case, the communications often come through in the voice of the departed individual rather than that of the medium.

It should be noted that while most people look to professional psychics for these type services, one does not need to be psychic in order to talk with those whom have passed on. In fact, many do talk with loved ones on a regular basis. Although, when having questions related to a specific topic and needing answers, these individuals can often act as a channel for one to do so.

While there has been a number of celebrity psychics and mediums featured on television over the last several years, these individuals are very different than those offering services on a regular basis. For example, most of these individuals are being featured on programs as a method of selling books or other materials. Whereas, when working with a medium to contact a departed loved one, the focus is generally on relaying communication between the client and the loved one rather than on selling a product.
