Using a SmokeFree Is A Heartfelt Choice

By Milo Chartokov

The tobacco industry is very guarded about revealing the chemicals their products contain. We know for sure that according to the Surgeon General's Report, that cigarettes contain the following chemicals: carbon monoxide, benzene, acetone, hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxide, formic acid, acetic acid, nicotine, ammonia, benzolpyrene, tar, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. To think that this is only a small list of what these products contain is truly mind boggling.

Consider these sobering facts: Literally seconds after taking a puff, or chewing or dipping tobacco, the cardiovascular system is placed under incredible stress. Nicotine rushes into the bloodstream and starts doing damage. The pulse races an additional 15-20 beats per minute and the blood pressure rises substantially. These effects continue for several hours after the product is used. This is equivalent to going for an all day jog!

Could it get any worse? Absolutely. Carbon monoxide, the invisible, odorless killer, attacks the body by depriving the red blood cells of approximately 16 percent of their oxygen carrying capabilities. The nicotine continues to punish the body by restricting arteries by as much as 50 percent and reducing blood flow to the heart by 25 percent. For smokers with existing artery blockages this can be deadly.

Don't despair. The body is an amazing machine capable of repairing itself. Within minutes of discontinuing tobacco use, the chance of premature cardiovascular death diminishes greatly. In only a few days, the body purges the nicotine from the system and consequently the blood pressure and pulse rate begin returning to normal levels. Coronary artery spasms start to subside as well. Damaged red blood cells are steadily replaced by new healthy cells, and within a few months all damaged cells have been replaced bringing greater vitality to the body.

Quitting seems impossible right? Not so fast. Health e-Choice, a new visionary company located in Ashland, Virginia has tackled this dilemma by introducing the SmokeFree, an electronic cigarette that mimics the physical act of smoking. Instead of using nicotine, the SmokeFree cartridges contain only water, propylene glycol (an FDA approved food additive) and flavoring. The cartridges are offered in three flavors: green tea, tobacco, and menthol. The cost of each cartridge is only $2.00 and is equivalent to a pack of traditional cigarettes. So, not only is the Smoke Free better for your health, it's also better for your wallet.

Smoke Free users have reported as much as a 75 percent drop in traditional cigarette smoking after only a couple of weeks of using the SmokeFree. The SmokeFree produces a harmless water vapor that looks like regular smoke, but dissipates quickly and poses no threat to the user or those nearby.
