Emergency Preparedness

By Erica Sutherland

No one gets a pass on an emergency - everyone has this. An emergency position could arise out of nowhere and catch you entirely unawares. Sometimes the shock can be too much to take and people collapse under the stress of the position.

As this is obviously not the way to go, individuals need to learn how to handle themselves and their environment in case of an emergency.

This is why continual vigilance and the cognition gained by various emergency tips are important in life. These tips could differ from basic emergency tips such as how to be careful and safe during a disaster or some advanced emergency tips such as CPR.

Emergency tips can mean the difference between an all-out catastrophe and an unfortunate but carefully handled problem.

For as long as mankind has been on Earth, there's always been tragedies. Emergency tips that come in line with a situation such as the twin towers disaster could differ from tips given to tsunami victims in south Asia. One the other hand, the basics of emergency tips never change. A never-to-be-forgotten emergency tip is always be prepared.

Being prepared for a catastrophe is the best first step in dealing with it. An office should have made proper plans for an emergency and appraised everyone of them.

The employees should know where to meet up and what routes to take including emergency exits that are safe.Backing up information regularly also helps with business continuity in the event something happens.

Keeping communication lines open is another of the primary emergency tips to be followed. There are many emergency tips regarding communication that could be shared with your loved ones. One of them would be proper management of phone calls. Do not take unnecessary phone calls and deplete your phone's battery life or credit levels of mobile service. Have a backup phone charger. If possible, stick to text messages, as it easier to keep them rational and calm, rather than trying to control a panicky voice. Most importantly there should be up to date emergency phone numbers on your mobile phone or PDA.

There are many emergency tips that could save a life or ward off further catastrophe at an emergency position. Proper knowledge and being up to date in this regard is very important for everyone's safety. Be prepared with all the emergency tips you can.
