San Jose Water Damage Restoration - Finding The Right Company

By Eric Bowen

Water damage can indeed be troublesome. Depending on how long the water has been standing, it can also cause a variety of other issues including mold, insect infestation and rodent infestation, just to name a few. If you live in the Bay area, there are many reputable companies offering San Jose water damage restoration services.

It doesn't take a genius to know that water can come from just about anywhere at the worst possible time.. You can come home from work to find your dishwasher spewing water all over your new hardwood floor, or your home can be ravaged by fire and the resulting water from the fire hoses. This is the reason many clean up companies specialize in both fire and water cleanup!

When searching for a company to help clean up after an accident, look for companies that have years of experience as well as a wide range of expertise. Since so many accidents turn into multi-level problems, it's good to find a company that is prepared to handle even the toughest jobs.

As you do your research, it's also a good idea to ask if they work with insurance companies. Depending on how your damage occurred, there's a good chance that some if not all of the damage is covered under your house insurance. If you can find a company that will be able to understand your coverage and work with you to either stay within your limits, or bill the company directly, that's usually a big time saver. At the very least, it's less paperwork you need to deal with.

Also, try to find out what their expertise is. Some of these companies are owned by ex fire fighters or experts in hazard waste management. The point? You want to avoid hiring companies that really don't have the expertise you need, especially if surprises are in store.

Make sure they have a valid insurance certificate as well. You already have enough to deal with. You don't want to find out that as these people were trying to clean up one problem, they caused another - and can't pay for the damage. The last thing you need is to have them break a door or ruin your front lawn with heavy equipment and then leave you with the bill.

Before making any commitment, make certain the company can do what they promise.
