Many people with a Masters in Social Work end up joining outpatient care facilities' staff for those with mental ailments. You might even end up as a therapist dealing with both patients and the patients' family members. You might get tenure or also work as a part-timer at the center, depending on your preferences.

There are many graduates who take up a career as a trauma expert. The most popular reason for your services being required would be some issue with a family's life. There are many types of trauma that you may have to deal with in such a case.

It would not be unreasonable to expect a career with agencies that seek to assist the underprivileged.
