Breaking up with someone can be the hardest part of any relationship, especially if both partners do not want the relationship to end. The following breakup advice can help you to survive this very trying of times. The intent of these tips is to help you to deal with the pain and turmoil of a relationships ending.

If you feel the urge to cry, do not deny yourself this small pleasure. It is a healthy way to give yourself some relief to the grief and pain that can be associated with the end of your relationship. Along with crying, find ways to keep yourself occupied every day. Watch your favorite television programs, read, and get some exercise and more. These are all ways that you can be gentle with yourself while you are healing.

Another healthy way to handle the separation is to seek support of others. This may be friends that you have who are willing to listen. If necessary, join a support group or find a counselor to help you work though your sadness. Whatever you do, do not try to handle this alone.

Find ways to keep busy. Take an early morning walk, go to a movie theater in the middle of the day, read a good book, and more. Whatever you do, do not isolate yourself in your home. Free your mind to help mend your heart.

Enjoy going out and spending time with your friends. With their help, you can overcome these tough times. Go out, have coffee, and laugh a lot. It will be good for you. Consider volunteering your time to help you heal. This is also a great way to make new friends if you and your ex share many mutual friends.

Do not making any life changing decisions for a period of one year following the split, such as moving to a new state. Doing so is an indication that you are hiding your feelings rather than dealing with them and healing. This is especially true after a long-term relationship ends.

Trust how you are feeling about the relationship ending. Even if it has come as a shock to you, chances are your inner voice is telling you that you are better off without the person. Listen to it. This breakup advice is meant to assist the newly single make it without their ex.
