How 24 Day Challenge Changed My Mind and Health

By B. Gregory Sloan

I have certainly never been a huge fan of multilevel marketing strategies. I really don't like my good friends trying to sign me up to distribute things given that I am definitely the most horrible salesman in the world. Heck, I can barely get a person to let me to give them an item free of charge. Uh huh, I'm really that bad. I also remember the days as a teenager needing to distribute products for school and church to raise funds for trips, etc. I usually trusted my mom and dad would bail me out since I would likely have a lot of products unsold. I was far too timid to travel door to door and trouble a person by asking them to purchase products from shy guy. However, a MLM product line did subsequently come my way because my son got me into a quick and healthy weight loss program called the Advocare 24 day Challenge. However, a bit more on that topic in a moment.

Just what makes a person to be a great one on one salesperson? I've seen them around. I suppose it's individuals with great personalities, the ability to verbally connect well, and typically aren't worried about being told no. Well, that's 3 strikes against me. Though I have done a good bit of blogging on the internet, my communicating abilities tend to be better when I'm using my keyboard than those times my lips are moving & sentences are coming out. (And you are reading through this post and thinking - "you really aren't doing so well with the communication style on the site either, dude)."

And what's a lot worse than that, I am a minister. And, as you might agree, if you are a in the ministry, you totally should have a belief that you have the most wonderful information on the planet that people need to hear. And I have to ability to stand up in front of a very large number of people in the church and sing or present a sermon and not be the shy person. But, when it comes to making an one on one visit to a person that I don't know, I'm still almost like a shy little boy. What is my problem there? But this has consistently been my personality.

Well now, let me go back to the Advocare topic for a moment. Although it's absolutely secondary to my church responsibilities, I do participate as an Advocare distributor. My son had sold their health and fitness supplements for several years (which certainly helped him make additional cash while at the university), but all my wife and I did about the Advocare products was use them. Certainly, I was very skeptical at first, until we tried the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. It made such an improvement in our general fitness, energy, and we definitely shed a bunch of pounds in the short period of twenty four days. At that point we were definitely sold on those products.

So, last year we decided that since we were going to use it, then we weren't just going to get the health advantages of those health supplements, but also, make some profits. So that was a wise decision for us. With Advocare you generate income by marketing the products and recruiting others. Does Annette do it better than the shy guy here? Yes, actually. But that is quite alright. I think that the merits of these health and wellness products are so great, even someone like me can successfully sell!

So, if you are a shy salesperson, simply make sure that your chosen product is a very strong one and works. I'm really happy ours does.

Let's encourage folks AND make some money!
