It was during the cultural revolution of China wherein mister Scott Cao first got his taste of violin making. Before he even discovered what this art was, he was a farmer who made a living with getting crops and selling these crops. When a master violin maker came to the area, he took interest in mister Cao and offered him apprenticeship in making exquisite violins and other string instruments.
Eventually, he participated in this program and officially became the apprentice of the violin maker. While studying under his teacher, he also went to a school in Guangzhou known as the Guangzhou Institute of Professions wherein he increased his knowledge and honed his violin making skills. In 1977, he graduated from this place and became a luthier in China.
In the year 1985, China opened itself to other countries which gave mister Cao an opportunity to travel to America in order to start anew. In America, he studied under some of the most famous names when it comes to violin making. He studied under great names such as Hans Weisshaar, Louiz Bellini, and Roland Feller.
When he honed his skills and almost perfected them, he found a business partner named Hideo Kamimoto and partnered with him in opening up a store that sold good quality string instruments like violins, cellos, and others. After some years, he decided to create his own brand which is Scott Cao Violins. His store caters to those violin enthusiasts who would want quality instruments but at a very affordable price.
Eventually, he decided to permanently go back to America and open up a shop there in Campbell, California. During this time, he actually entered many violin making contests wherein he won a lot of awards. In fact, there are so many violinists who use the violins of mister Cao.
The life mister Scott Cao was a good one with regard to his career because he was doing something that he really has a passion for and really excelled in it. He was so good that even his copies of the famous Stradivarius was praised by music enthusiasts. Because of his burning passion for creating violins, he was able to become an extremely skillful luthier, probably one of the best in the field.
